Embracing Detours, yeah me too. Got to spend 12 weeks in Columbia, SC from Oct. 70 to Jan. 71, got to do some tent camping while on bivouac at Fort Jackson. Got married in June of 1970 then Uncle Sam came calling. Biggest detour in my life! Love your videos!
Hi Bree, thanks for showcasing the farmers' in your most wonderful video and letting us follow you and T.J. along the way. Keep posting, we're looking out for you two & living vicariously through your journey! L. A. & J. T. @Terra Firma Farm & Forest, GA.

God Bless you for the love and care you have for all of your pets. Madly is in my prayers for good health and happiness. Both of you are also in my prayers.
We are thinking and praying for you guys and Madley to get better, bless her heart. Awesome content as always and we are big fans of your channel!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our hearts break for you and your sweet dog. We know that a solution is ahead and she will be able to enjoy running and playing once again. Thanks for sharing your struggle with us so we can lift you up in our prayers.
Hello from Canada. Loved watching your videos! You two are such a cute couple. Your TJ is a real cutie!! If only I was 40 yrs younger. I hope your fur baby is doing well, I know the heartache of a sick baby. Sending prayers for you and your family. Stay safe in your travels.
So hard to see Madley struggle as she did when she got excited - but thankful the surgery went well and you’re now in Vermont! Thanks for sharing another interesting part of the country - you guys are so informative and fun! Be safe! 😎👍
I'm so sorry for the loss of your fur baby 😞 We think Brodie is mostly Springer and he is the sweetest most loving dog either of us has ever had. They are never with us long enough. Big hugs to you.
Great video. Thanks for taking us along with you. I truly hope you can find a solution for Madly. She is such a sweet girl and I know how much she means to you. I like seeing the pups in your videos. They add something to each and every one. God bless and take care.
Thank you for being here for it. My world doesn't turn without Madley and we will do everything within our power to keep her healthy and happy. We really appreciate your kind words and hope you're well 🥰
Thank you for sharing your journey. We enjoyed seeing the Harvest Hosts and the Congaree National Park. We are wanting to go to Savannah and that area and Harvest Hosts might just be an option for us getting there. Hope that Madley is doing better by now and you have had a chance to see the doctor in Pennsylvania.
Thank you for being here for it, Julie. And sorry we don't always reply, sometimes life just gets in the way. With as crazy as camping has become we relied pretty heavily on Harvest Host on the weekends and it served us well, and it's fun to boot! Enjoy your time in Savannah, safe travels and thank you for your well wishes 🤗
Since I know your videos are a bit behind real time, I hope Madley is doing well & that you are successfully on your way (or in) VT. Enjoying your videos. Stay well
We enjoy your videos and adventures and are sad to see your fur baby having a difficult time. We recently brought my mom's dog into our home and it was a very difficult adjustment. She was very anxious and upset and the vet recommended a collar that has helped her tremendously. I don't know the "rules" regarding mentioning products but if you are interested you can let me know. Hope all goes well and thank you for keep us with you, we missed you when you were gone!
I'm writing this with tears of concern in my eyes for Madley and thinking of y'all. We came thru the general area of Congaree on our way from near Front Royal, VA to FL last Dec but had a time line that didn't allow us to check it out.Looks cool. One day......Take good care-Dave and Lorrie
that looked like a blast ... reminds me of walkin barefoot down the river bank trail to Crystal Springs when I was a youngin .... good job you guys .... wishing you and your entire travelin family the bests
Sad to see Madly out of breath. Hope you get her the proper treatment soon. I never heard of that National Park. Seemed lovely but I wondered if there were any gators about to grab you by the ankle. Safe travels
We have a chihuahua that suffers from collapsing trachea which sounds similar. So far we’ve been able to treat with combination of meds and breathing treatments. Hope you have great success!
Haha, thank you Candie! We really wanted to rush straight up to PA but we had to pull back the reigns a bit because what’s the point of showing up 2 weeks before our appointment?!?
Hello sweet lady! So glad to see you guys back out an about. We so enjoy seeing all the beautiful places you go. You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers. Madly I will be praying special for you. Bri your hair is so cute I just love it. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
We hope you have found out a remedy for Madlee. We drove by Congaree last year but no time to stop. Looks like a nice place. Hope your job is going well! Keep in touch! Chris and Barbara
I see you found more horse’s as well. Wishing the best for your pup. I remember her as a sweet girl and pray that she has many more years with you. Safe travels.
Haha, what can I say, I have a thing for horses Tom! I actually helped the lady clean their feet out, been awhile since I've done that! Thank you for your wishes for our sweet girl, it's been an uphill battle but we're also hopeful for many more years 🙏
Thank you, Kenny. It's been a rough few years with our animals and we're hopeful we don't suffer any more loss anytime soon. Take care and see you next week!
Glad that you enjoyed Congaree NP. We stopped for a day in March and went paddling for a few hours. Cool place. Very unique. Hope things go well for Maddy in PA!
It was a cool place - I bet paddling through there was amazing, you got to see things that us common boardwalk folks missed 😉 We agree it was a unique National Park and one we're glad we stopped at. Thanks, Jim!
Thank you for pronouncing “Pe - Can” correctly ! We’re Georgia folks transplanted to Idaho... Hope to see you out west someday... Praying for Madley... Drive Safely....
Haha, I kept switching back and forth between pronunciations because I wasn't sure which to go with 😆 We love Idaho, spent quite a bit of time out there over the past couple of years - Stanley, Ketchum, Boise, Twin Falls, Craters of the Moon, Coeur d'alene...
@@EmbracingDetours We’re about to embark on an 8 day trip from Boise to Grande Hot Springs RV Park in La Grande Oregon, then to Icicle River RV Park in Leavenworth Washington, then to Ravenwood RV Resort just north of Coeur d’Alene and then 1 stop on the way home down 95 through western Idaho ! This is our 1st big trip in our ‘07 Tiffin Allegro Bus 42 QDP... We have only had it for 6 months and this is the 1st RV we’ve ever owned ! ! ! We may be in our 60’s, but we’re ready to Rock this Thang... Lol
Nice find in SC. You are likely aware of the pipeline hack. Hopefully you don’t get set back due to gas shortage along the east coast. The rush is on back home in FL but not quite as bad as the TP debacle. Be safe 🇺🇸
It's always something, isn't it?! Thankfully we're not moving a whole lot right now so the gas shortage isn't affecting us but hopefully it clears up soon for everyone else. Thanks for thinking of us!
Great video. We always stay at Barnyard when we head to Florida from Michigan. We're sorry we had to cancel our Patreon but hopefully we can join back up soon. Love love your videos.
We lucked out at Barnyard and got a site on the end of the row right next to the laundry room... made hauling several loads of clothes much easier! And no worries at all about Patreon, we appreciate that you supported us when you could and don't hold it against you that you had to go! Big hugs 🤗
Poor baby 🙏❤️ our baby is only 3 year's and has hip problems he is a rescue that was hit by a car! and it kills me to see him limping! He is on meds! The doctor says no need for surgery at the moment. He's young and hopefully the CBD helps him heal.
@@EmbracingDetours yes we have 3 on the fireplace! 2 rottweilers and a black la,.(creamated). Buddy is a husky pitbull mix! He's our baby! Good luck with your baby! God bless ❤️🙏
I have travelled to Congaree National Park twice and have yet to be able to visit the visitor center. The park was closed both times. Once it was the 4th of July (what park closes for the fourth?) and the second time there was a threat of Thunderstorms with tornados so everyone went home for the day. I ,of course, did not get the the memo both times and drove 2 hours out of my way to visit it. What I did see were mosquitos.
I went to the Sesquicentennial State Park a year and a half ago. It's a very nice state park. But the campground was old and not well maintained, My site had bad power. I will not go back.
Hope you fur baby gets better soon! Maybe you have shown in past installments and I missed it are you set up with solar, how do stay powered when Harvest Hosting it?
Thank you for the well wishes for Madley. We have 200w solar suitcase that tops our batteries off on the sunny days and a Honda 2000w generator for backup when necessary.
I spent almost $5000 to try to save my beloved golden retriever in the end I got an additional six months which was very miserable. He did not live and I was very miserable for a long time in fact I have not replaced the dog.just saying. Clause was 14 years old. I just can’t go through that again for the third time in my life. Thomyt
@@EmbracingDetours how you keep it running/ them safe? Do you have one of the apps on your phone? Do campsites have rules about leaving your dogs? (Like hotels do) I just rescued a dog, and want to go everywhere with her, but want her to be safe and comfortable. Thank you for any insight you can provide, since you're already doing it!
Sure thing! Knock on wood, we’ve never had a problem with our a/c quitting on us but we use a Wyze camera to keep an eye on the dogs in the trailer while we’re gone. It requires WiFi, we have a dedicated hotspot in the trailer that the camera connects to. Those temperatures monitoring systems are nice but crazy expensive, this was a super affordable solution that works well for us. We have considered putting a thermometer near the camera so we can remotely swivel the camera from our phones to see the temperature but it just hasn’t be necessary. Hope that helps, good luck to you and your pup!!
Oh, and we’ve never had a problem leaving our dogs in the RV at campground but we make sure they’re not constantly barking and disturbing other campers. We use a bark collar for Brodie.
We typically try to film when people aren't around. It's easier for us and sometimes people get weird when they think you're recording them, so we try to be conscious of that 🙂
I’m not clear on what the dog’s breathing problem is caused by. It’s sad and she acts much like my dog, a bichon -poodle, also with a breathing problem (congenital thorax deformity). ... Anyway, full national parks do not inspire me to get on the road. But I enjoyed it from afar. Apparently they built the boardwalk in a dry year.
Madley has a disease called Laryngeal Paralysis. In short her Larynx is becoming paralyzed in the closed position blocking her airway. We were really surprised by how busy Congaree was also. Especially for a small park with the majority of its trails closed. Thanks for following along 🙂
@@EmbracingDetours There's a rest stop south of Burley, Id on I-84 called Sublet, E 1400 S . There's a sometimes open restaurant and a fenced pen in front of the restaurant with a few alpacas and donkeys. They have a gumball machine that dispenses feed pellets that you can feed the animals with. I spent a lot of time there and spent all the quarters I could find in the car.
