Those of us that are seeing impaired know exactly what he is going through. Bigger problem when you get very old like me is you forget where you little eyeglass repair kit with the extra screws etc. Is.
Thanks for 'stopping by' Tuesday night, well... via youtube video! It does feel like we are with you on these videos you share. Like others have said - love that fry pan! I have been wanting one myself. Plus cooking 'real food' is great for everyone to see - doesn't have to be burgers on the grill or hot dogs over the fire, you show the way it can be.
New River State Park is a gem. We used to live in the area and still visit often. The New River is a beautiful place to fish and kayak or canoe, The Blue Ridge Parkway is close by and offers beautiful scenery and more great campgrounds. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
Hi my name is Leonard Thomas i live in Lenoir NC. I'VE been following you for about 2 yrs. If you want i good burger there is a place in Boone called COME BACK SHACK never had a bad burger there is a menu or you can make your own with toppings if you choose. Would love to meet you but i'm sure you have a busy schedule. Safe travels.
That sure look yummy. You know when you cook in front of us you'll make us hungry. And we may not have anything to eat off hand. Other than that. Thank you for the video showing us that gorgeous country.
Well I'll say this I never seen somebody take a sledgehammer to beat up meat before that's definitely one for the cooking show you guys take care of yourself and see you next week
Awesome video! I think we’re going the composting toilet way in our van build. I built my own to test and IT WORKS! No black tank emptying! Anyway, that’s a beautiful area of the country thanks for sharing! The flank steak made me hungry! 🤙
We keep discussing installing a composting toilet. The boondocking benefits alone make it a very appealing option, we just wish they weren't so expensive.
My wife and I really enjoy your videos. My grandparents were Italian and Sicilian. They used to make a dish similar to what you made, they would also add salami. Safe travels and God bless, thank you for sharing.
TJ's complaints about the dump station may seem gross, but they are extremely helpful to those of us who might be planning a trip around there. It is helpful to know that perhaps that should not be the first choice for dump locations.
Y’all are just so funny I think we are all a little fluffy after the Covid year we have had. I am getting a little worried about what it’ll be like on the road this fall as I am camp hosting for the summer and staying put in one spot. I did join harvest host in hopes that it would be easier to find a place to stay as I travel back out west in the fall, it doesn’t sound real promising! Safe travels.
We're glad we're not alone with the "Fluffiness" 😁 There is no doubt Harvest Host is becoming more and more popular but HH has been doing a good job consistently adding new host. You may not always get to chose your first choice, but we have always been able to find a HH place to stay. Thank you and safe travels 🙂
Bri, you cracked me up using that 2Lb sledge to tenderize your meat!! But hey, it worked and your meal looked really good. Another great video. I always look forward to your adventures you share with us all. Thank you.
I took my kids down the New River on a canoe camping trip when they were little. The main River is too warm to support Trout. It is a great Small Mouth Bass river. There was a nice private campground on the water called Shady Shack at the Mouth of Wilson. It has long since closed. Great memories. Thanks for the video.
I actually found your channel because of this video. I had an overnight kayaking trip planned the first weekend of June and was searching for information, since I am from Alabama and had never been to the area. We floated about 14 miles and camped in the area that you mentioned. It was an awesome trip and I want to go back! By the way, i shared some of your other videos with my wife and we thoroughly enjoy your channel. She says, "I could see us doing something like that, someday." Hope that your pup is doing well!
Hey folks ! North Carolina / Virginia is a BEAUTIFUL area ..... A little bit of EVERYTHING that mother nature, provides for us all ... And "Fluffy" looks GOOD on ya Bree !!! (just a compliment ..) Safe travels to you'all
I'm thankful to hear at least one RV RU-vid Channel telling the truth about lack of availability at campsites. It's been a real challenge for me to watch certain Channels continually encouraging people to FT RV all the while laughing off concerns of overcrowding. Now, those same folks are all set up to boondock and are complaining when others camp too close. So, whether they admit it or not overcrowding is a real concern and it does affect spontenaity. I agree that this situation is just one more reason your decision to manage a campground is a good one. We really enjoy watching your Channel. Thank you!
The New River is one of my favorite places, although I've never camped at that State Park. I did enjoy a canoe trip on the North Fork of the New River with an overnight campsite. That supper looked awesome, never mind the aforementioned fluffyness, Lol. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure.
@@EmbracingDetours It was a very relaxing trip ... no white water where we went, but most enjoyable. I hope you do get to go sometime. Thanks for replying, I know you guys are swamped with followers. I used to have more time to watch, when Rottenbear was still here, and before my wife became disabled.
Always a pleasure to watch! Interesting about the dump station design / logistics. When they build them, they probably have no idea to even think about that. They just throw some asphalt down. Oh, and the food looked amazing!
Nothing like “slogging” in thigh deep mud flats with loaded kayaks! Done that. Have to read that tide chart. Area near us where on full moon tide folks walk, slog, across bay.
Believe it or not, we have had little or no problems making reservations this spring for Durango and Yellowstone NP area or along our route to and from home. We made our reservations about a month and a half out. Our place to stay near YS is about a 20 minute drive west of the west entrance. Not too bad considering. Hope all goes well for your vet visit for Madylin?
We work away from home. We're gone for 6 weeks at time. We know about when we'll be here but not sure about when to make reservations for camping. We'll be home in a few days but can't go camping till Memorial weekend. So far all the campgrounds are booked. What I'm getting at, I understand what you are saying about everybody camping now. I'm a spur of the moment person it's really hard to do that now. We do have reservations is September for a vacation though.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. It always puts a smile on my face. By the way you look great. Always love your hair looks so cute. Love to know how you get it that shade of blonde if you don't mind.
Love your channel! Do you have any recent q and a videos about your background and how you manage your finances being on the road? Thank you for the great content
TJ was cracking us up! Dave sometimes doubles up on his readers to see really fine detail.Sometimes he's looking for them and they're on his head. Couldn't agree more about Harvest Host lately. We've had way more success with BW in the last couple of months. That beef dish looks amazing. We're gonna have to try it, but we may have to use the backside of a hatchet.😉
i havent ever saw someone tenderize steak with a 2# sledge before!!! BUT i bet it was really tender!! LOL it did look really good!!! thanks for sharing with us. if you get time or need a video idea would you do a walk thru of how your airstream is laid out & what if anything you would like to change!!
@@EmbracingDetours the reason i ask is i bought a gutted air stream & before i start the remodel i would like ideas from real world expierance.. thank you, love you channel & the Brittany , have German shorthair pointers
The cook set is made by Magma(amzn.to/3f8B1bz). Absolutely love them! They nest to save space and come with 2 removable handles. Our set is made for use on conventional stoves as well as induction type burners. They also make a non-induction version thats less inexpensive and a non-stick version. FYI we've never had issues with sticking on our set 🙂
TJ - your contribution to the meal was a big deal! Question: Is your microwave a convection oven also? At first I was like, "NOOO - no metal pans in the microwa...!" but Bri you obviously know what you're doing ;-) Appreciate your videos guys - be safe!
Great video. I was wondering what is the brand name of the pot you were using? Really like that you can remove the handle. Also, was that a microwave you put it into or some sort of oven? Thanks in advance.
We use the Magma cookware set: amzn.to/2REPm6L. They nest inside each other which saves a ton of space and they're really well made. We have the version that's safe for induction cooktops but they also make a more inexpensive version for conventional cooktops. We have a convection/microwave oven, it works surprisingly well.
@@EmbracingDetours thanks for the reply and information. As mentioned before, great video. Also, really hope your pet is doing better. We have our own and it breaks our hearts when they are not well. Hang in there. Milo
Hey my wife liked the pan with the removable handle you cooked the flank steak in . She is curious of the brand name as she would like to buy one. Thanks

That's awesome! We aren't Boondockers Welcome members yet but we are definitely going to join in the future. We'll look you up when we're back in the area. Thank you for following along 🙂
I've watched many of your vids and have a question that has been burning in the back of my mind. Where is your accent from? Just curious as it is very soothing.

~2:07 and following............ I believe, from the look, the lack of undergrowth, and the missing lower branches that a forest fire ran through this area in recent years. That would explain the "eeriness". This is not what most Appalachian forests look like in early spring. (Disclaimer - I am much less familiar with conifer forests, which this appears to be, and not at all with this area..........)
That’s the way this type of pine grows. N.C. Is full of forests like this! Fires are very beneficial to the health of these trees, intentional burns are done every few years in managed forests, but the dead lower limbs happen regardless of the presence fire. Forest fires actually cause the pine cones on the ground to pop and distribute their seeds, while killing off competing species.
Do you have a third person with you or do you do a lot of back tracking for your still camera shots? I see you both walking which means you have positioned the camera, walked past or away from it, which means you have to back track the get the camera, right? Also do you use a GoPro for part of your video recording? I enjoy most all your videos and the humor is fun, especially the "Fluffy" reference. I must say neither of you look all that "Fluffy!" LOL
It's just the two of us. We typically walk a hiking trail twice in an effort to get different and more interesting shots. When we're not quite as "Fluffy" it's much easier though 😁
Safe travels. I swear Reserve America is rigged against me. Their 11 months out to the day for reserving hard to get sites in popular State Parks is good in theory but I have set alarms for 11:59 pm so I am 11 mths out to the minute and still not been able to get into some. Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach is a perfect example.
Reserve America is definitely not our favorite website 🙂 We feel your pain, we've tried for years to get a reservation at Anastasia State Park with no luck. Good luck and safe travels.
It has definitely been tougher than in years past. We're happy to see people getting out and enjoying Rving but it does make it a bit tougher. Thank you for watching 🙂
