I think it's fair to know if anybody is paid for with foreign funds and then try to change your domestic policies. That's totally fair to me and I think what you do within the United States too. That is our propaganda line. Ani Chkhikvadze’s recent interview with Noam Chomsky showed her to be fantatical US propagandist. Georgia want to avoid foreign interference which is overwhelmingly led by Washington and that is just unanimous and hardly my personal opinion. because it casts too wide of a net. It doesn't specify politicians, CEO's, government officials, or NGO workers. The threshold is also too small when it targets everyone. 20 percent of your average Georgian could mean 100 dollars or less. With this happening, everyone will be stripped of their citizenship, and corrupt politicians etc. can hide under the cover average mother and father being arrested every day. It also delegitimizes any outside media, trusted or otherwise, that goes against the state narrative. So it's ripe to stifle complaints to the outside world if the government oppresses it's people.

If Georgia is unable to join the UN and ally itself with Europe and the United States, it will have no other choice but to succumb to the Russian regime. Everyone in the comments contemplating about this law so carefree because it doesn't affect you whatsoever. But Georgia shares a direct land border with Russia, and Russia has already invaded Georgia on 2 different occasions in the last 30 years and is currently occupying 20% of Georgian land. Basically, Georgia has to either ally with the UN or Russia. There is no third option. The general mass is displaying that they want to side with Europe.

So the UN is admitting they wont let them in if they cant bribe their politicians?

But they have voted in enough parliament members to overturn a veto. The people in the former Soviet countries have very deep ties to Russia culturally, linguistically, and genetically. It sounds like the UN said that because they would be seen as foreign saboteurs in Georgia following the law and it would make them look bad.

@bogusmcbogus2637 Some post soviet countries may have certain ties with Russia, but Georgia isn't one of them. Georgia has a history of over 8 thousand years. Georgia has had its own language, culture, and traditions(which are currently still present in Georgian society) a little over a thousand years before Russia as an empire even existed. It was only in 1921 when the bolshevik party invaded Georgia and once again forcefully took control over it until 1991, when Georgia declared independence. Georgian history didn't begin 100 years ago and is in no way tied to only Russia whatsoever. Just because Georgia was once associated with Russia doesn't mean that Georgian people want to go back to that. It's a generally accepted fact in Georgia that the country is Europe oriented at the moment and even the government that passed the law that goes against the UNs liking cannot directly declare that they are siding with Russia, they're also saying that they want partnership with Europe but behind the scenes are dragging the country over to the Russian doorstep. Since the person pulling the strings behind the scenes, Bidzina Ivanishvili is a multi billionaire oligarch who made all of his fortune in Russia under Putins supervision.

Ani Chkhikvadze’s recent interview with Noam Chomsky showed her to be fantatical US propagandist. Georgia want to avoid foreign interference which is overwhelmingly led by Washington and that is just unanimous and hardly my personal opinion. George have the right to change leglisaltion to avoid US interference, which over history has overwhelmingly led to violence or repression limits on sovereign economic development.

Yup. Russia has got its fingers around Georgia's neck. Next step is to update the law for an even tighter stranglehold on civil society, just as Putin did to jail his political opponents and anyone criticizing his regime. Eventually the law became so vague in Russia that "support” by foreign sources was defined not just as financial, but also “organizational and methodological, or scientific and technical help.” “Influence” can now be read as “exacting an influence on an individual by coercion, persuasion or other means.”
