Love the vidoes Paul. I am starting OMSCS next week. The only courses I am interested in that I can register for are KBAI and HCI, so I am trying to decide. What is was your experience if you got waitlisted? Do seats open up at the last minute? Thanks.
First of all, thank you!! And second, this is a really good question In my experience (waitlisted twice), even near the middle/end of the queue, I was able to get in So there’s hope if you’re on the waitlist
Great review, would help to mention 8 pages per P (principle) assignment, and the other assignments are more tedious? Has me worried but like you said as long as you follow rubric easy peasy. Thanks.
Career fairs look cool, I’ve seen companies like Meta and Adobe recruit there, the course material is up to you in a sense, that you get to choose what you study and redesign, so I’d say yes it is up to date
Great question, I started out doing machine learning (and almost finished it!) but Graduate Algorithms kicked my butt so I switched to Interactive Intelligence haha
In my opinion, I think HCI is cool, but also, I think computing specialization is also really cool In my job, I would benefit more from computing specialization, it’s really good to have that knowledge about how a computer works really in-depth
GA was hard, bottom line. I was getting around a C average in the class until midway, and then I withdrew and switched to II For me, it’s not worth the effort, I’d study all the machine learning courses you want (if you’re interested in that) and just pick an easier specialization, because I think it won’t really matter long term what specialization you do
