Georgia Tech vs. Clemson: The Tigers opened up the season with a 52-14 win over the Yellow Jackets. Running back Travis Etienne set a career high with 205 rushing yards and tied a career high with three touchdowns.
I was waiting for a comment about that, and that's why you never give up. Just makes me think of the time cam newton didnt dive for that fumble during the superbowl. QBs gotta get dirty sometimes.
Jay Jones right he knew it was an interception soon as it left his hands and took the perfect angle that was the defensive play of the game until they made that 4th down int at the goal line
@Showstorm you sound like a pussy who's never played football 🤨 they are fighting to win more nattys, while building an NFL resume. The scouts like to see dual action aswell. It's a masculine sport🤷🏾♂️. Even if the game is decided, you don't stop making highlights for yourself. Otherwise you're losing your starting spot for sure
Crazy how Clemson win 52-14 and everybody complain 😂Yea they ain’t play perfect but it’s was the first game and Clemson could’ve EASILY scored 70+ but Dabo called off the dawgs as usual 🤷🏽♂️
They can easily put up 45-50 points on any defense in college football right now, and their defense is still really good, it’s gonna take a really good, I mean truly excellent offense to hang a 20 spot on them.
Liquidsteel3 look what this same offense did against the always vaunted big bad bama defense in the championship game. This offense is built to challenge and beat the “big and fast” defenses of the King of all the conferences, the SEC. I think the championship game was just a preview for what they wanna do to other teams in 2019, and the playoff bc they’re 1010% gonna breeze through, all the way to the playoff. And likely the title game again. So long as they don’t drop their guard, or lose focus and underestimate teams, they’re gonna be a force in the nation.
Isaiah Simmons will be a top 10 pick in the draft this year. Unreal speed and strength. He's going to kill it at the combine because he's freakishly athletic.
man do you know how many other schools would love to have Chase Brice and that second string as their first team?!? I believe we could still win out with those guys. We too deep!
Mason and T. Oliver are some good players. The Clemson defense was on tonight, but Trevor Lawrence looked suspect in this game against a decent secondary....and you have to be impressed with Pressley Harvin III #27, punting 50+ yards like it's nothing!!!!!
Hayden Briggs Yeah, he should have just thrown that last pass away. Trying to force something in the last 10 seconds while up 28 was a mistake. I’m sure the coaches will let him know to not do that again.
One off game and some people are already claiming Trevor Lawrence is overrated. While I question people who call him the best ever, he is a lot better than he looked tonight. I’m not going to write him off after one game. I fully expect him to be in the Heisman chase at seasons end. He may loss it to his running back though.
You can’t ignore a good game. I believe if Trevor Lawrence has only threw only one interception, the media wouldn’t be criticizing him so much. He threw some great out of pocket, and in-pocket passes.
He was 13-23...people were criticizing tua for struggling against top ranked sec defences. It's pretty fair to put the same criticism for Trevor as well
Colt Bailey it was not just the picks, Trevor was missing throws the whole game. His best plays that he made the game were on his legs, his one TD that he threw was even all wr ability more than a good throw
@D.A.Y - 2 Weeks from an ankle Surgery. And homie was on a scooter during the Heisman ceremony. Didnt stop him from Playing through a high ankle sprain against Georgia. Considering Tua was less then 50% he gets an excuse even if he says he doesn't. He shares the same attribute only legends have amd that toughness. Trevor was completely healthy, he doesnt get a pass.
New GT team forced #1 Clemson 3-and-out on 1st series --- The muffed punt is reasonably crap, but I'd be surprised if Clemson doesn't practice 'fair catch' interruptions (A "smarter" returner would have launched into the gunner's body after he steps across him and the ball path..). Alas, GT is at a different stage of building, but I'm impressed by the energy and physicality with which they showed up in the 1st half. Turnovers costed GT, but exemplifying Lawrence's pick-return to 4-yard line, our inability to punch it in is, again, reflective of our formiadable building stage; Abiding, this narrative could have easily swung into another direction with a more tightly contented contest. Suffice - Will be fun to watch GT grow and would gladly see them face-off against Clemson again - Next time, at Bobby Dodd).
@@blakeharris58 Agreed - NCAA Section 5 (Fair Catch) Article 5 (No Tackling). "No player of the kicking team shall tackle or block an opponent who has completed a fair catch. Only the player making a fair catch signal has this protection (A.R. 6-5-5-I and III)" It also states they must have "an unimpeded oppotunity to catch the ball" - By signaling fair catch, the receiving team forgoes the "right to advance the ball", not "posession". It's grumbling, but as far as I see it, Clemson couldn't get it done physically on their opening 3 downs, so they successfully 'psyched out' a fair-catch returner on their home turf... #1 team in the country? Hardly by integral play, less-so entertaingly, and rather unconvincingly.
@@Run4un winning 38 pts is pretty convincing. As a Tech fan, I can understand why you weren't entertained. Good luck in the future. I miss the days when Tech was actually competitive.
@@korkkrusher That`s the message: The points on the board obscure a credible bout (especially early on), which Tech cans should be proud of. Agreed- I definitely wouldn`t be entertained by a huge win-margin either... (Did you sleep during Gladiator?). Alas, I am proud of GT and look forward to their development which, thankfully, moves in cycles.
First game wasn’t his best, still delivered tho. He’s second int was stupid, he should have thrown the ball away instead of trying to make an impossible throw.
It looks entienne gotten slower but stronger in his runs which makes him still finish strong, he’s still fast asf just gotten slower what I see but he got a lot better. He is slowly becoming a favorite RB of mines.
Bka4real Ab you will. He had a bad night. He may not be best ever. I’ve been to several practices. You can hear the wind on the ball when he throws it. The other guys throw hard but it is so obvious that he has an NFL arm. There are only four NFL players that throw harder than him right now. You are right the receivers make him look good. That’s how they practice tho. They tell Trevor to put those 50 50 balls up like that.
Ronnie Myrick sorry bruh. Those guys aren’t frisbee dogs like Higgins and Ross. Plus Ngata may be better than them. He’s bigger and just as fast. He goes up and gets it but he’s a better athlete than them with the ball in his hands. He can run over guys jump over guys.Clemson will be wide receiver U for a while. Just landed the state of Alabama’s best receiver for the second recruiting cycle in a row. All of that being said Trevor has the best arm in the NCAA by far and it ain’t even close. Peyton Manning says that he has more potential than any QB he’s ever worked with. You people that think he’s so overrated are sadly mistaken. He is the Slim reaper. He throws darts to any part of the field.
I heard ol gt was wanting to break away from the trip option. But from what I'm seeing they have just implemented into the shotgun. And the 3-4 d /335 d they need to cut
They just don't have the type of players needed for a traditional spread offense right now. Will probably take another 2 years for a complete transition.
Rolltide💯... It's the first game of the season of course there will be mistakes but as a Bama fan, I will respect Clemson's program they will get much better as the season progresses, as do most top teams... #RollTide
All do resoect for the new GT coach but I would of loved for GT to stay a triple option team. They are the best in the nation at all levels running the triple option and execution of it. If they wanted to pass they would just need to get on the drawing board and figure how to work them in without giving away it being a pass in the flexbone. It was easy to tell they were going to pass because they always would flex out a wing rather than have him offset on line. But when the triple option worked it destroyed even top 20 ranked teams.
Bama fan Clemson look good Trevor played alright it's the first game of the season n 2 interception u rather have them now then in the playoffs so we'll see who goes in the playoffs n with tua healthy be good to see them go at it both best qb in college
GT Started the wrong QB lmao. Lawrence is only in his second season, made a few mistakes, but showed up and looked past them. Gonna be another good season for Tigers football.
I don't think we started the wrong QB we got the wrong offense now Johnson retired we have to rebuild. besides Clemson escaped a bad unc team from 2017 3-9 and 2018 2-9 I believe wake forest could possibly upset Clemson this year
Y’all aren’t truly fans of football, y’all are “bandwagon” jumpers... if you think that was acceptable, yu played and outmanned Georgia Tech team as far as talent goes. Needless to say Georgia tech gave Clemson 28pts when they turned the ball over inside their 30yrd line 4 times. They also came up empty in the red zone twice, this game was a lot closer then the scoreboard indicated.
Absolutely agree - GT's inability to punch it in refelcts their early-building stage; Abiding, they picked Clemson off twice and flew around convincingly on defense in the 1st half. Muffed punt was an unecessary 'turning point' in the scoreboard narrative, but I can't say I'd be 'worried' about facing Clemson again, especially when we're not playing on #1 team's home turf. Jesus...
Georgia Tech right now is going through a transition year. they're doing away with the triple-option offense and they're going to a more a pro-style offense and they don't really have the talent yet,but they will. Jeff Collins is a SEC guy.... People just don't understand the process on what it takes to build a football program... it's all about setting and building a culture. recruiting the talent, and developing the talent.
LOL. Tech didn't give them 28 pts, Clemson took them. Just like Clemson took all those points from Notre Dame and Alabama last year. But keep disrespecting. Clemson feeds on that sheet like candy. I'm sure when we dominate the Aggies next week, they will be giving Clemson points too. I know I appreciate the charity.
I'll say this, that Swilling #3 covered Ross better in the first quarter than Alabam did the entire game. Even though GT lost, there's a lot of good things to take away from this game. Lots of good tackling, too.
Clemson got away with some interference on that punt return to padnah.....hands all up in the air and Clemson was in the way and you know it playah...and if u don’t know now u know
You know that's right! Changed the whole aspect of the game! Georgia Tech had ALL the momentum at that point and would have likely run roughshod over the Tigers, at least during the first half. Damn homefield officiating. *sarcasm*
Very disappointed we were unable to view Clemson’s first seasonal game in Livermore, Ca. Could not access on Comcast cable or in any facilities in Livermore. One huge disappointment for Clemson graduates in Livermore, Ca. Is it Giotto be this way for the whole season? ACCN is refusing us access ? Too bad!!!!
GT looks good on defense! Offense isn't bad, but that Graham #4 QB could be their guy.. Oliver is dope! GT can make some noise this year! #gotigers #allin
D-line looked solid to me. The three linemen defense is a little off brand but maybe it was a bluff for the A&M game. The offense is of course unstoppable.
Just realized how loaded on both QB and RB is for the tigers. Which is a good and a bad thing. It's bad because the recruits might not choose Clemson when they see they are already stacked. A bit scared for the future.
GT may need to try a different OPTION on offense. Where are GT fans that said the spread was too large? Or the ones that told me I'm wrong about Collins ability to call plays?
Pump the brakes on a secured National title okay. TL was inconsistent and their defense was gouged at times. Gtech did some really good things in this game. Maybe had the Tigers gone up against a more talented team like Auburn with a similar gameplan, it would've gotten scary for the Tigers. However, UCF played the way y'all should've played.
@nathan c I thought Wimbush would be a nice addition, but everyone in respons kept replying with a GIF of him throwing a pass completely missing his receiver by a mile!.....Then I though, Oh shit!
You really gotta consider Georgia Tech has struggled recruiting top notch talent the past few years because they had ran an offense that doesn't translate to the NFL. A sloppy game like this against good competition can easily become a loss for any team, no team is unbeatable no matter how talented they are.
I agree. They barely beat tgem ladt year even though it was kelky. I actually got clemson losing 2 games in the regular season and not making the playoffs.
Ga Tech needs to recruit heavily at OL since their undersized OL isn't suited for the new offense. big adjustment and hiccups transitioning from a Flexbone Triple option to a college spread offense. Ga Tech rebuilding mode begins
Huh, Trevor got picked off exactly on a play like Tua did in the championship. I thought Tua was the turnover king, but here Trevor is throwing two against lowly GT after looking mediocre against A&M and Alabama last season. Is his hype based entirely on his 6'5 frame?
@Oasis you're the one who cares that someone is using poor grammar on RU-vid. Do you reread what you write before you hit send to make sure you don't come across as a dumbfuck? Do you have so little going on in your life that you have nothing better to do than be RU-vid grammar police? If someone doesn't want to take the time to proofread a RU-vid comment and do spell check, who cares? If you disagree with what he wrote, who cares how he wrote it? And if you don't like what's on his channel don't look at it. It never even occurred to me to even click on his channel because it's not that deep.
I;m so sick of hearing about Clemson. When they decide to man up and play in the SEC, then i'll acknowledge them. You beat Alabama, so what.... Look at the SEC team that represents in the championship games. Take a look at their schedule compared to clemson...by the time Alabama got to the championship game, They were tired and beat up...we have 5 teams in the top 15 starting this year! Where is the ACC???
"We want more balance in the offense" GT Passing attempts : 8 GT Rushing attempts : 45 If they didn't have the players to implement the spread, then they should've just to the triple option.
Dude, did you see those passes and attempted passes in the first half? He looked a lot better in a couple of throws later in the game, including that beautiful TD pass, but overall, he was terrible throwing the ball.
Knew this game was gunna be bad tech before it started. New coach transitioning offenses, playing against the defending national champs at home. Not to mention Georgia tech has no talent atm. Clemson offense is really good though, almost their entire starting offense will play in the nfl! I was also very impressed with their offensive line!
Great offensive line, great defensive, great receivers, and a great running back. However, it’s the quarterback who gets all the credit. Fucking bullshit.
