Gerald Ford's jersey was retired during halftime of the 1994 UM/MSU game. ESPN didn't show the presentation but did a very short interview with him during the 4th quarter.
Whenever I argue with an Buckeye, I always bring up how we had a future president who won two champions in our school. Hell, he even had the Navy play Hail to the Victors instead of Hail to the Chief on occasions. Rest well, Mr. Ford, Go Blue! 🔵🟡
Nice. Another tidbit about Gerald Ford is that as President, when he made an entrance, rather than having "Hail To The Chief" played as usual for the POTUS, he had "The Victors" played instead.
