Gerald 'G-MAN' McClellan was one of the most devastating KO punchers in recorded boxing history. In this video, I analyse his punching technique but also how he'd use great boxing IQ to land his tremendous strikes. Enjoy!

McClellan seems to be one of the fighters than time forgot. It's a shame because he was a beast!

McClellan was criminally underrated. For me he was judged on the Benn fight too much. What he did to Julian Jackson ‘TWICE’ in itself was elite level. How many fighters could say they fought one of the hardest punchers twice and never lost !! Quality liver shot as well…. So fucking sad and that piece of shit Don king should have gave him millions for healthcare 🙏🏾❤️💯

Yeah, definitely one of the most underrated fighters and one of boxing's forgotten greats. Even in defeat to Benn, G-Man showed he was a bad mf.

Gerald McClellan obviously had oodles of natural talent, and, had the natural ability to fight, but he was taught HOW to BOX by the great trainer Manny Steward in the Kronk Gym, Detroit, Michigan. Steward honed his natural ability to fight into an almost complete boxing machine; he reminds me here, in stop-go motion, of the great Sugar Ray Robinson - his balance, movement, and the ability to shift his weight correctly (turning his right ankle over as he delivers his right-hand power punch), are very Robinsonesque. Plus, he punches as hard as Robinson, which made him an awesome force in the middleweight division of the early to mid-1990s. A great tribute to a great, but, alas, fallen warrior, who was one of the hardest punches in boxing history, pound for pound. Thanks for composing and uploading.

Manny was truly the GOAT.

@@outmatchboxing6587 Manny was very good, but, look at Robinson's professional ring record, it's incomparable. I would say though that a peak Pacman beats a prime Mayweather, who billed himself as the GOAT. Way too late when they did meet, due to Mayweather's procrastinating and lame excuses, consequently, as a superfight it was a missed opportunity.

Coming back to my favorite boxing video for the 100th time... Gerald was one of one, you made great points about his ability to shift weight and create torque. He took high risks and was very very mean. He had skills but his ferocious instincts came out in every fight.

I appreciate that, man. The G-Man was an absolute beast. It's a shame that boxing has essentially forgotten him.

I noticed in this video and your Julian Jackson video they stepped in . Do you think stepping in to a punch adds power ?
@outmatchboxing6587
@outmatchboxing6587 Год назад
Potentially, assuming it's not excessive and the foot must be stable when landing. Moving the foot past the target will allow you to more effectively punch "through" the target because the final position of the punch itself is past the target. However, it takes more time which further highlights how you need to set up your power punches Hope that makes sense 👍
