The G Man! Without a doubt the rare training video I was most frequently requested to make. 29 knockouts with 20 coming in the first round, Kronk gym definitely produced some hard hitters!
Absolutely one of the scariest men to step into the ring at middleweight very avoided, great fighter. It's a shame about what happened though, but it's good his name in the ring is still remembered, so many names are forgotten. Kronk Gym Forever
@@Camcolito yeah, don king screwed him over by brainwashing him into thinking Nigel was shot and gave him useless yes men in his corner. What a shame and what a waste of such talent.
Hell no. As boxer - no. He was sort of brutal and cool man, no doubt guys, but his boxing skills wasn't so good as Mcculum. He can't be calm in the ring and be calm on the feet, as JT. That's one of the reason he lose against Benn. Unfortunately The G-Man defense and gaming were really poor. Toney would never have lost to Benn, i mean. But he compensate this unreal phisique condition and explosiveness, and he did it really great throghout his caree
@@user-tf3dk5ev5khe was an amazing boxer who accomplished more than most 😂 his career was cut short but tragic circumstances but ffs this is the guy who beat Roy Jones in the amateurs!!!
Got what he deserved karma came for a visit, damage was already done when he fought benn, benn finished it used to go backwards with gloves down cardinal sin, dog's are smiling everywhere especially Freeport Illinois,my home state man!
@@melloscott1732 - McClellan’s fight of that night itself from A to Z upset me. There are things like this that bother me a lot: Arturo Gatti (I call it a murder; the Brazilian government called it a suicide). The third is (Chico) Diego Corrales died in a three-vehicule near his home. It’s life but still upset me as a boxing fan. Okay, Malcom, it’s life and it’s sad sometimes. Have a good week. Blessings.
One of the best out of the Kronk Gym; in fact, I think Manny Steward (Head Coach - Kronk), stated that Gerald McClellan was the best fighter he'd worked with, in his time as a boxing coach; when you think Manny had worked with people like Tommy Hearns, that's some high praise indeed. Enjoyed the upload - thanks.
I love the G-Man Gerald McClellan! His style is what you would call beautiful brutality. The Tommy Hearns of the middleweight and Super middleweight divisions.
Mannn the dynamite he posses in them mits. He right there with Julian Jackson for the most power at middleweight. Another great 1 for the people sir appreciate your work.
NO WAY! I can't believe this! I woke up today thinking about Gerald McClelland and his entrance song against The Hawk (Nothin' but a G Thang) and then you upload a video about him! You are the best
I don't know why it was included, Toney was rolling or blocking almost all those punches. Watch their complete sparring footage at Kronk in '92 on youtube. Toney showed him there's levels to the sweet science.
Benn on drugs bro he avoided the drug test and on the G mans shoe there was some of benns blood which they took in and had traces of drugs. On top of that constantly giving benn 10 to 15 seconds mid round and Mclellan actually finished him in the first round, but for some reason went for a 20 count when he was still on the apron
It's sad how some people work extremely hard and may never get what they wish for or even credit for it...Archie is one of my idols, alongside, Ali, Robinson, Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey, Henry Armstrong and so many more...
@@Nimvar you are a man of good taste my friend. Yeah it’s sad but it’s true but they kept their quiet and worked their skills in the gym fighting so goddamn often it’s no wonder why they will be true atgs but that don’t get a lot of respect.
Your return has been perfect. Its been long time since I requested "THE G MAN". He had one of the best 1 2 in the history of boxing. Thank you for great videos. Can you make "TERRIBLE" Terry Norris and Edwin "DINAMITA" Valero
I dont know much about boxing but how come his body shots are like someone thrusting a long pole at u. Like long range. Wings it in. Instead of short n stiff. Does G man have a long reach..long wing span? What makes his punches so powerful. Thank you.
@@johanpeiper5908 I believe it’s cuz of his reach he needs to get more extension in order to get full power. As for why he throws it in a thrusting motion it just kinda depends on the fighter. Certain fighters throw a body shot more like a hook, where it goes across the body, some throw it more like a thrusting motion where it digs into the body. As for power well it has to do with his training but mainly punching power is something that you’re born with. Certain fighters have the natural ability to punch hard while others don’t.
Every time I see this man Aka The G Man I think about Julian The Hawk Jackson. These two men were the most underrated dangerous entities in boxing history. One Punch KO power in both hands.
@@xGhostRidah he did move up to smw as he could not make mw any more. But like you, he's one of my favs, great boxer, puncher with excellent distance control.
@@xGhostRidah He moved up from 154 to 160, then on to 168. He was an extreme weight cutter so he wasn't really a natural middleweight, he was a natural lightheavy. Probably would've finished up at cruiser weight had his career not been cut short.
Always loved his style. He came to knock MFS out as quick as possible. Great fighter and so was Benn. Sad what happened. What could have been had that not happened and what his legacy would be today.
The biggest super middleweight in the sport.he was always about 190lbs at fight time.I never was a gan.I looked at him as a bully type of guy...sad to see him get hurt in the Benn fight which I thought Benn got KO'd in the 1st round.he should have been counted out and the injury wouldn't have happened.
That's the kind of Forgotten Legend you should do more bro forget about Canelo and all the fighters from the height your channel is Original Gangster this boxer is the legend thank you for making living
Spectacular Talent, such a tragic story. But I write this as a big fan. He needed more training and discipline,, the clowns and hangers on that ruined his head and took advantage of him should be ashamed. They left him when he desperately needed help. If he couldn’t work with Emmanuel Steward, then he should have had a top notch trainer. He deserved and needed that. He was horribly unprepared for the Benn fight. Relying on that super quick knockout, which he almost had.
