the Astoria close to Tottenham court road station (long time gone now), was demolished and now it's just shops and stores around; it was my place to listen to hard rock n roll and heavy metal bands ........... memories just left now.
I didn't hear them until i heard Yeti tripping in 1972 & have never lost my love for trips & Amon Dull since. With their comrade in arms & shared bass player Dave Anderson. Hawkwind with 'In Search Of Space' & Space Ritual.....Sun cities are rising from the sea!
Thank you forever for this magnificent upload...Over the airport, under the sea, above the sky, between the trees, beyond the streets, in the middle of the new moonrise, it's flying now, the nocturnal being, it's a star, the invincible eyeshaking king! I've loved Amon Dull & Hawkwind to trip with ever since i heard them on my 1st trip in 1972 at 14. There's simply nothing better to trip with than In Search Of Space & Space Ritual / Yeti & Carnival in Babylon.
We were there, I have it on cd from tape I made from a lapel mic to a recording Walkman. Magic night. Astoria now gone for the Crossrail development. Amazing how historic the clothes styles in the street appear. I remember the event started with the showing of films onto the screen? Was it this concert where there were heavily cowled cloaks? In my imagination they all had them. Thanks for posting. k ( :
