Einfach grandios, hab sie Anfang der 70ger mal live erlebt und ein wenig Vinyl angefangen mit Psychdelic Undergound, Paradieswärts Düül (Ohr) und 6 Düül II
what an extraordinary voice Renate has - from angelic to demonic within a single line of a song - power and naivete and sometimes all over the place - like the original band were before professionalism reared its ugly head. I saw Amon Duul when they toured the UK (1973?) I was 13 - I didn't fully or even half understand the cultural implication (but wanted to) I just loved the sounds I heard. There are two images that I have carried with me (that are fairly vivid) from that concert I saw at Birmingham Town Hall 1) as Amon Duul was a 'peoples band' they would be amongst the audience not hiding in the dressing room / hotel room / tour bus - I saw Renate across the auditorium just chatting to someone in an ordinary way. To my 13 years old eyes she represented all that was desirable and unattainable - completely at odds with what they / she was about - but I was 13 years old after all!! ha ha ... 2) the other thing was - because I'd already decided from when I saw Pink Floyd on Top of The Pops in 1967 that I wanted to be a musician (well be in a 'pop group' anyway) and by age 13 was almost set on the saxophone from hearing Van Der Graaf Generator and hearing about (but not yet hearing) Soft Machine circa 1970 - seeing Chris Karrer do that soprano sax break in 'Jail House Frog' sealed my fate.
@@davegutierrez3670 Are you joking :D These are the best role models any kid can have. Scary would be Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Taylor Swift, Bieber, Jay Z...
@@karl6657 I'm not sure what you mean in your answer to Dave Gutierrez - I feel sure he did not mean 'scary' as in intimidating (as people) but rather 'scary' in their musical artistry. Your list of 'artists' above is rather a mixed bag!!!! so I think maybe you mean 'scary' in the sense of untouchable 'superstars'???
Wolf City one of the truly psychedelic songs along with Dancing madly backwards and Myopic void by Captain Beyond. Oh and Mind Flowers by Ultimate Spinach!
I had to stop 20 minutes in....my beautiful dog, Isobel Goudie, reacted very aggressively to Renate Knaup´s voice and Chris Karrer´s noises.....She was her own self a coupla minutes later....Isobel hasn´t got a problem with Lothar Meid, though....
O dear! You Tub T & C's are getting upset again. Well, it's this; don't gawp at Knaup, but Vince was with Gladys and I was Alexandra Palace! Simple really. Love ya! 😇
