Lighthouse oder Lost in a heartbeat oder A splintered mind.
This song already became one of my favorite LOTL tracks before LOTL even started it 😅 I just love cyberpunk, retro wave and synthesizer! How about you?
Great reaction, I like how you pick up on all the different musical elements in the song. The two guards with the guns are Formalin (from Berlin). I really like how "meta" this song is. The couple discovers old videos and they start to play the broken video, and YOUR youtube video starts flickering and jumping (like in old VHS times). They are experiencing new feelings, but then the guards come and YOU become worried and the adrenalin jumps high. It seems whatever happens to those people in the video, happens to you, too, at the same time, while you're watching an art that clearly affects your feelings and thoughts. So if you think about the quote at the beginning, this "lie" (the MV being clearly not a documentary of real apocalypse) helps you to find the "truth" (to experience how it could be to live in a post-apocalypse world).
It's reminds me "Equilibrium", maybe mixed with "The Island". I heard about LOTL for about a year, but fell in love with them about a couple of months ago, so I haven’t listened to some of the songs yet, and I discovered this one thanks to you. Really great song 🖤
Like your reaction, as a big lostie (lotl fan). As you told you are a fan of Muse, you need to watch My better me and Matt bellamy. 😊 I recommend also Voodoo Doll and a splintered mind , which are very melodic. Schönen Gruss pe
Hello Michael! Love this track. Formalin are the two guys with the guns in the video by the way. LOTL love to collab. In your last reaction you mentioned Oomph! and Eisbrecher. So, LOTL organize their own annual "Lordfest" in December in Hamburg. Eisbrecher was one of the co headliners in 2023, Oomph! is already announced for 2024... I'll be there! As you are a Muse fan check out (for yourself) the video of "Matt Bellamy" by Lord of the Lost. Hilarious! It is a parody or so of their own song "My Better Me" but praising Muse and Matt instead of singing their own original... Love the guys' humour (Chris even once coverd "Cheri Cheri Lady" 😂 The result is astoundingly good). Being a Devotee for all my life (Depeche Mode) I am a sucker for synths, too. But I also entered the metal world years ago when I lost my heart to Nightwish first. In the end I have a big heart for music in general and Lord of the Lost is quite a satisfying mixture and a whole package, which I love and enjoy endlessly, too. In "Loreley" you will hear a lot of synths again. This is a journey that is great both for a LOTL week for a start and for 100 another days to come. Too much good songs by this band. Oje! Grüße von der Saar!
Oh, I love Depeche Mode. Saw them live in Barcelona, last year. Enjoy the Silence is my all-time favorite song and the fact that LOTL imitated Muse is a must-see for me 😄 how small the world is.
So nahbar. Danke nochmal.
If you want to hear Chris Harms voice in a very dancey synthpop/futurepop track take a quick listen to UnterArt, specifically "Now or Never." After a short intro the song opens with Chris' growling vocals. There is another artist singing as well that is very much in contrast to Chris' voice. No official music video for this song, though there is an adorable urban dance video featuring this song filmed in Seattle from several years ago that is a nice watch.
