Hi, I recently had a MRI brain scan to check for some other issue non tinnitus related but I was asking myself if this scan could also be useful for an ENT to see is there is eventually some disorder that could be related to Tinnitus? Thanks.
Over 18 months wait for ent where I am. Just told nothing you can do. So just had to research and try to manage myself. I did have it but never heard it through the day just a little at night. Then mum died suddenly got an awful cold then all of a sudden ringing 24)7 also told I was clenching so I have three potential causes but no professional to see exactly just trying to habituate!
@@LynnBewley-u9n My ent told me also nothing you can do about, because I have hearing loss. Fortunately by habituating I don't hear it anymore, except when I think about it. I hope science will bring a solution in the coming years though, because I cannot imagine what will it be if it gets worse.
@@Tod_oMal I hope I get to that too. I think maybe I've just lost my habituation status after the trauma! The sound has reduced and is more like static now. When people ask how do you rate it out of ten it's hard because you don't have anything to compare it to.
You mentioned the topic, yet you never actually addressed dealing with tinnitus caused by loud noise in this interview. I'm amazed that you didn't, because it's probably the most common cause of most cases.
Hey Praxia, sorry we didn’t get to discuss that in detail. The summarized version is that loud noise exposure can create primarily a cochlear tinnitus, but prolonged central tinnitus can be an effect too.
Ive had trigeminal neuralgia and that really sucks .. I also had a sever neck injury in past 5 years where I needed fusion surgery from C-1 to C-5 and that area has been bothering me lately pretty badly so I started using a grounding mat and a grounding bracelet to sleep with in the last month .. and after the first use I have greatly diminished ringing in ears.. That wasn’t why I got the grounding mat at all either .. a grounding mat or bracelet is supposed to reduce inflammation amongst other things.. it has been a welcomed surprise to not have all that noise between my ears .. I’m very happy with the grounding mat and especially the bracelet bc it’s easy to use at night and it calms the high pitch ringing .. I had no idea it would help me with ringing in the ears… I’m thankful the ringing has reduced and stopped .. it’s nice and quiet now .. I sleep with the bracelet on every night now.. I welcome the quiet .. I was completely surprised to get this relief in my ears when I was actually wanting to relieve inflammation in my cervical spine.. it’s worth a try and not very expensive for anyone with inflammation and apparently ringing in the ears to get a grounding mat and or a grounding bracelet.. I get relief when I use them.. maybe you will too ..
Heading toward the one year mark now and through everything I've learned from you and other sources you introduced me to, most of my days are less than a 2 out of 10, I'm having a .5 out of 10 day which is blessed and I usually get a couple days in a week now. I don't really want to get into my specific case here, but in this journey something keeps coming up with testimonials and that is that sugar and alcohol play a role in the volume. Given that that is a factor, I believe managing your glycemic spikes throughout the day can also be a game changer. In addition to improving your overall health. It's not difficult to do and the perfect reference is the channel "glucose goddess." I would be very interested to hear dr. Ben's input.
I noticed as soon as I drink coke and eat chocolate my tinitis is so loud I then noticed it's the caffeine in the items that's making it worse so look out for intake it play a big role in your ears stay away from caffeine you'll noticed immediately results at thie moment I caunt even hear the zinging
I dont have the money to go to Chiemsee to this private ordination for help. Thats a huge problem for the most patients with this horrible conditions. Maybe we should talk about that. All other doing is like influencing.....greetz.
As a Soldier who serv3d 20 years, gunfire in enclosed spaces coupled with concussion /H.E blade caused mine. So as to hundreds of thousands of soldiers who have served and suffering from it , why not highlight that. Permanent damage !!
ive learnt over the last few years to kind of put my tinitus on the back burner so t speak, i can ignore it, its always with me in both ears the last 12 months have been unusual because i also feel pulses like energy that can feel like somthings being pulsed into one ear and comes out the other ear then back again this is the only way i can describe it, i would love to be totally free from it because my insomnia is off the scale now and have other unusual spells of migraines dizzyness to the point i nearly pass out i also have neck shoulder problems and did suffer an explosion a few years before the tinnitus started.
Is any heal tinitus caused by loud concert and since then on every music on tv or phone or when someone talking louder ,my tinitus is getting worst! I am not avaiaible anymore to listen music at all ! :o I am having in bouth ears sound and in left ear I get other tinitus sound like its ocean in my ear caused when water enter in my ear and made infection. Its 3years since that otittis media and no healing . Pls do you know what can help me that sound of ocean go away? Because when I drink coffe or energy drink and put nasal spary on some moments its quite but every night sleeping with this sound make me crazy 🤯
Stay away from hobbies/activities that are loud ie.. Rock music (loud), concerts, loud motorcycles, Guns, loud stadiums/Movies that have loud sound tracks. Example : I specifically picked a quite 4 stroke Honda and wear ear plugs. Next I will be getting hearing aids like Dr. Michael Golenhofen suggests....as friends with Tinnitus said it helped them alot. "Your hearing like mine may be ok and you think you dont need them" ; wrong is what they said to me (they help with tinnitus). My hearing loss is "the high end" of hearing threshold.
@@DG-ie5ip I tried some high quality phonak hearing aids for about a month. Helped just a little in background noise, but didn't reduce my tinnitus(also had a masker built in). Maybe over time they might have helped, but I have tried and still use maskers, but it doesn't help. Only thing that helps is if I'm not so stressed out, and the volume will come down a little.

Is there a video about Ototoxicity and Tinnitus? My Tinnitus came on the following morning after starting a round of Amoxicillin for a minor hand injury. Started mostly in my left ear. But it's primarily in the center-left quadrant in my head. I can almost "feel" it in my head as well.
Can somatic tinnitus be bilateral? Mine came out of nowhere in both ears and I dont have hearing loss but was told by my dentist I show signs of teeth grinding. But also if it is from the brain only, how do you put the filter back on? Who helps with that?
My tinnitus started at a camping adventure at night with no noise I asked my husband if he heard it and of course he didn’t ! It’s gotten worse over time and I have no idea what caused it so how am I suppose to know why !
On your camping trip did you hammer in tent pegs? It may sound crazy, but mine began when I was a real estate agent. One day I had to erect 3 signs on different properties. This involved using a star picket thumper and 3 timber stakes per sign. The loud ringing bang with every stake installed started a ringing in my ears. I thought it was temporary but over the years has got worse. Then 3 years ago I caught (covid I think) and had a 48 hour migraine headache (I never get headaches) which was so painful it scared me. Anyhow, this episode has kicked the condition to the next level. So very frustrating. I do notice one thing tho', if I sit for too long in front of a big screen TV it gets really bad.
I went to a doctor and she gave me Betahistine to help me deal with my tinnitus but we still dont know the cause. Should I not use it without knowing the cause?
Do you have any patients reporting a relation between tinnitus and creatine monohydrate intake? Many reported having issues after starting supplementing with it for workout. Especially people with Meniere's disease
😂The Dr mentions that sometimes the Tinnitus can cover up the hearing loss in a test so how do we know if we have hearing loss or not following a test?

Mine is from Glutamate, Fast Food and to much Cola Zero (Aspartame). I take 200mg Gabapentin Daily since 5 weeks and the tinnitus is 40-50% gone. But the Pain, Burning and HYPERACUSIS still in my Ears!
