German Jets Over Normandy?

Imagine a scenario where Allied troops land on the beaches of Normandy on June 06, 1944, and suddenly German jet fighters streak over the sky, followed by bombers, dropping tons of bombs on the ships and the troops. Do you think it couldn't have happened? Well, it could have -- but there was one surprising person who helped the Allies and hurt the German cause by delaying the jet interceptor just long enough to where, by the time it entered service, the war was almost over and it had less effect than if it had entered only less than a year before. Who was this person who stopped the jet interceptor? Watch and find out -- if you don't know this, you will be surprised!

One of Luftwaffe top aces, Gen. Adolf Galland, flew Messerschmitt Me-262 jet fighter to fight high flying Lancaster Bombers at 30,000 ft.

What would have then happened, if the RAF 🇬🇧 had done the same or similar with Sir Frank Whittle’s own, original jet-fighter/interceptor design, the Gloster Meteor & had ramped up testing & then production from 1941 onwards?!! By 1945, RAF had one operational jet fighter squadron of Gloster Meteors in active service, which saw combat action right at the end of WW2! It was then powered by 2 x Rolls Royce (RR) ‘Trent’ Engines although there were earlier variants with less powerful RR Derwent Engines too. It could fly up to a ceiling of around thirty thousand feet & later versions during the war could fly up-to & around 600 mph. The armaments they carried were either 2 x or 4 x 20mm cannons & 6 x 0.303 caliber Vickers Machine Guns too. They achieved some notable successes towards the end of the war however, if more had been produced & deployed earlier in WW2 then it might have made a more important & significant contribution to the overall war effort, which in fact it did in the first 15 years or so of the postwar era.

Trevo Fuller 1078, I don't think that it would've made much difference if the RAF had used a jet fighter earlier, because the Allied air forces had such advantages in numbers after 1943. It might have made a difference in morale though. That's just my opinion. Thank you for your good comment! You get a heart!

@@EmersusTech : Yes, you’re probably correct in your observations/comments before! However, I hadn’t also mentioned it in my previous mail, but I had it then in mind too, regarding the Royal Navy’s (RN) Fleet Air Arm’s (The UK’s 🇬🇧 Naval Aviation Service) own possible wartime applications & deployments? The Navy (RN) were also in the process of developing steam-powered deck-landing, speed-arrester wires/steam-driven catapult aircraft launching systems for the decks of their aircraft carriers, which subsequently they brought to fruition, installed & operated them successfully, but only in the late-1940s & 50s. Perhaps, this enhanced jet development & production may have also hastened their introduction some 5 to 10 years previously & under simultaneous wartime conditions, of which they may have then hence been able to deploy them both together on their aircraft carriers with the Gloster Meteors, or one of its appropriate variants, to very good effect, especially on Atlantic & Arctic Convoys-Protection-Duties, as well as with their Mediterranean & Indian Ocean/Far Eastern Waters’ Fleets too! Just plain musing aloud, speculating &/or making fanciful conjectures on my part here!
