Thank you so much for this video!! I was asking all my friends this question for a while now. And I was feelin a bit disappointed and lost with no direction to find which test is best for me. Then my favorite RU-vidr comes out with a video like this and this was actually amazing. This just what I needed!! TYSM!!!
very informative, as a native german I was not aware about all these options. I think goethe might be the best, because it stays for ever. Anyway I might send it a japanese friend that was considering studying in german. He is very smart and I was very suprised about his intrest in languages, even tho he is a engineering student
As a TestDAF taker I chose the TestDAF because on the DAAD website it said(at least when I decided on the respective exam like half a year ago) that from the Goethe exam the C2 level is required. Now I don’t know why that is, but that was the deciding factor for me.
I took the Goethe Institute exams at the Akademie Klausenhof in Rhede, Germany years ago. My thinking at the time was, if you are going to invest in learning or bettering your foreign language skills...it is best to do so at a recognized institution of higher education, approved by the Education Ministry of the country whose language you are learning. This is also true even if you earned a degree at another university in foreign languages studies program. There is no great debate of educational proficiencies.
Thank you so much Max was waiting for this video. 💙 Can you please make a video about how to manage block account money or ways to study without block account money. . It's free study but block account money is really a huge amount for Low currency country like South Asian countries :( .
Hello dear Max, I’m currently learning in an intensive program for German and on level B2. The school I’m in is preparing us for the Telc Prüfung, is it any different?
I'm going to study linguistics, and there's no mandatory German exam. English seems to be mandatory. I don't need to take the German exam, do I? there is no mandatory German language on the site I am looking at on the section.
hi i wanted to ask you this questions, when i look through top unis like TUM, LMU, university of heildelberg they ask for c2 level not c1 like you mentioned, is that the case or am i mistaken about something?
As someone who has B1, B2 Goethe certificates and Testdaf 4x4- i would say that TestDaF is the hardest German exam that i have ever faced. Fortunately for students in Germany- you could do DSH exam which is cheaper and way easier. Testdaf will ruin you😢
Hi Max, I am Utkarsh and i want to apply for a bachelor's course in game designing in Germany. Can i show them the game that i made.... it's now published on Playstore and have over a 100K downloads. Or it would be considered unprofessional ?? Also what you think will be better to increase my chances in my addmission. 2) Average Score in highschool and Semester results + A professional Portfolio + A CV consisting of my 10-15++ project experience with different software and coding langauges. 1) Excellent CGPA + Basic Experience + Wasted other time studying for good grades.
Hey Max, if i studied for one year in informatic engineering in my country. Can i study computer science in germany?, or will they let me have to study the Studienkolleg? I am in so much confusion your answer will help me so much.
Depends on country u r You can find this kind of information on DAAD in ur country or univ's website But usually for non EU or u dont hv higher education sertifikat that equal to Abitur For one year or 2 y study in ur country you can skip studienkollege Again depends
I took TestDaF in 2021 towards the end of a C1 language course which prepared us for Göthe C1. In the language course, we just worked through the EM Neu C1 language book by Hueber. Parallelly, I worked through the Test-DaF training book by Klaus Lodewick. It felt a bit overwhelming at first, but once I got used to the format and types of questions, it was fine. The good thing is that especially for the written and speaking parts, you can create a list of phrases and sentence structures to use and then just adjust it to the topic in the actual exam. I probably watched all RU-vid videos available at that time about the test, but the most helpful were definitely ones by Dr Deutsch - I took his advice to heart (especially about the oral part) and ended up doing well enough on the test (4-5-5-5). So I‘d say if you have the underlying language skills for B2/C1 and you work with a book like TestDaF-Training and videos by Dr Deutsch, you should be fine. I stopped studying once I felt like passing the practice tests in the book and ones I found online was not a big challenge. I took the actual exam in a different language school in a different city. Overall, it wasn‘t harder than the practice exams I did at home. What I would say is that the listening comprehension was much more niche than I expected - it was something about different strategies of plants to protect themselves against their harsh environments. The writing part was easier than expected - I think the topic was whether pupils in school should be evaluated by grades. Don‘t remember the reading part, but the speaking part was pretty standard. The more difficult „conversations“ were not harder than the ones from the practice tests. One thing I‘ll say is that I completely messed up the times, I think I even went 10 seconds over the bell and was so nervous and thought I‘d get a reduction for that but it ended up being no big deal. I hope I could help you and I wish you a lot of success with your learning! Edit: What I didn‘t know before taking it was how the speaking part was going to look like logistically. But you basically sit at a computer with a huge headset on and they record your answers. It‘s just one big voice recording so they also capture the pauses inbetween sections where you listen to the questions. That‘s why also if you go over the given time, the recording won‘t cut you off. The annoying thing was that all test-takers did the task simultaneously, so despite the giant headphones, we still heard each other talking.
Why is it that some German universities (e.g. TUM) require a certificate of C2 for the Goethe Exam in order to study many degrees there, but just a 4 TDN in the TestDaf?
Some universities don't accept the lower Goethe exams because Goethe is not specifically designed for university studies. It's more of a general language exam But TestDaF TDN 4 means C1 so, you should be good with that
It depends on the degree program. If your degree is German-taught, most classes will be in German But in computer science, the programming is done in English for sure
is it possible to reach german B1-B2 in a year with german classes + watching everything in german? or is a year not enough? usually how much time does it take to reach these levels with german classes and german films etc etc
@@maipled I did in about a year and a half maybe. I reached a TDN 4 in testdaf which is a bit higher than B2. B1 is 100% possible in a year. I didn't even work that hard I just listened to a lot of yt videos in German about science and technology and did a few essays that were reviewed by my teacher. I recommend you to work more on speaking and writing since that was the hardest part for me, I got a TDN 5 in reading at testdaf
If you have proper guidance (e.g. language course) and put in a lot of hours, you can definitely reach B2 in a year. B1 is very much possible with a more relaxed study schedule Next Saturday I'll release a video about how long it takes to study each German-level
@@NehaSingh-in8uo I worked with a private teacher 1 to 1. At the start we worked and finished a A1.1 and A1.2 notebook and my teacher also showed me more grammar. After that we only did A2, B1, B2 tests from Goethe, telc and later testdaf tests. I couldn't afford to finish the A2, B1 and B2 notebooks since the time was limited
Hi, I am Bangladeshi Student .I am making my mind set up to complete my bachelor's study in Germany.I am requesting you to make vdo about demanding subjects in Germany. And after master's what the obstacles international students face there. And is it easy to get job in germany within 18 months?

Yes, Studienkolleg makes up for the 13 years of education that you need to have to study in Germany I have a video on my channel about Studienkolleg, check it out :)
