I worked on BMW's for a while. And I've always said something similar. I would tell customers that if you want the best performing high tuned machine go German but you really have to constantly be mindful of maintenance, if you want something that is well rounded and very forgiving go Japanese
@@a1dieselafrica lol sorry to be a wiener-dog with my comment. You are not wrong in your content. But I've heard so many Toyota fan boys and they are not always as reliable as claimed particularly the smaller cars. I've owned American and German cars any my least reliable was the VW, though I do miss it's really nice to drive attitude. As for Harley-Davidson, reliability is not their middle name, lol.
I have an Audi and got an engine light at 113k miles, it's always maintained on time so thankfully it's just the thermostat. Still, the problem is the location is difficult to get to and will cost more for repair. I had an Acura with over 200k miles on the original thermostat. You can judge German vs Japanese engineering for yourself based on that story.
@a1dieselafrica Trying to help people out so they're informed. I did try to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery and so far the light hasn't came back.
