Smoker here. When drunk people tend to smoke more. I know people who only smoke at parties. Maybe this is a German thing, Gesellschaftsraucher is what I mean lol
Great assessment on the pitfalls of drinking. You arrived at the same to the same conclusion about drinking that I did many, many years ago. Once we reached 'legal' drinking age and were working and going to college, several of us pretty much stopped drinking. The excitement was gone. Drinking was too expensive and made is feel like crap. I have one high quality beer with dinner a couple times a week for the flavor and that's it.
Beeing an "alcoholic" in case of beeing physical addicted, is however mainly a genetic problem, some just become one, other like me, can stop whenever they want. I have really drunken a lot in my life, one girl friend even thought i was an alcoholic and wanted me to not drink anything for 2 weeks. It was kinda annoying for me, but i had done that before, and it was no problem. Else i totally stopped drinking maybe 5 years ago, while before for year i either drunk 5-7 beers every evening when i was playing MMOs or later, when i had no car anymore, i switched to vine and drunk like 1-2 bottles every night. But i also always knew i'm not physical addicted because whenever i was just chilling on the couch and watching TV the whole evening i never even had the urge to drink alcohol.
The scariest part is when that little man inside your head comes back for like 2 seconds and wonders why there is a sw*stika on your chest and who that pretty girl wich is playing with your balls is....mistakes where made...
