The cross is actually what is primarily used in police and military. They can look like purebred Malinois or WL GSD with variations. Some people call them the German line of malinois, some people call them Dutch herders. Basically all the dogs you see in military and police are specifically bread working dogs from Dutch shepherds, Belgian malinois, and German Shepherd working lines. The dog in this video however looks a Lot more like a working line purebred German shepherd with some Malinois in him but he definitely more working German Shepherd in phenotype. Purebred working line German Shepherds look totally different from show or pet line German Shepherds and are basically what the original German Shepherd is supposed to look like. Anytime you see a 95 pound or 100 lb Belgian Malinois it has working line German Shepherd in pedigree. If it's recent or far back it's in there. The knpv dogs do not care about purebred. They care about best working dogs
I just found out my gorgeous dog, Athena, is 55% GSD, 35% Belgian Melinois and 10% Dutch Shepard. She has the body of a malinois and the coloring of GSD. 60lb female. She so fast and agile.. it’s remarkable to watch how easily she can jump, she looks like she is flying. So insane.
@@dylanturner6865yeah I agree with you on the bark. German Shepherds have a much deeper bark. It's just in phenotype he took a lot more after the working line German Shepherd but you are correct the bark is Malinios
I dont know from where you are from and what kind of dogs you have there.. but i have allready my second gsd, father is from austria mother from croatia and its the best dog. Malinois is ugly and remind me on fox. I would never cross a pure blood gsd with fox looking dog.
you are rigth, althuogt the german shepard is my favorite dog, nowdays the german shepard looks terrible whit that ass hips tail curved downside. Whit the mix wht belgian malinois looks more like a wolk, more athletic.
Totally agree, very healthy dogs, loyal, energetic, but I recommend the puppy must be separated from the malinois father because, the son loose part of his dominant and protective instinct. And if the German shepherd is big... wait to see the mali/germ son. But the son in my case results less hypper active than the father and very close in affection with his mother. Beautiful dogs. Is more beautiful than a DDR German shepherd
I would disagree I've seen crosses of the two that are ugly and some are gorgeous it really depends on what type of Malinois you are using. There are plenty of working line German Shepherds that are absolutely gorgeous and far more beautiful than the cross, however the cross can look very nice when done well
how old is he in the video, still a puppy 7-9 months? i have a GSD MAL cross its a similar size right now to him and weighs 32.5kg (71 pounds) and it was a week off 7 months weighing that
It really depends on which side they take more after. I have an 11 month female that is under 70 lbs and she's the largest female of the litter. We've seen others, a male, that was full grown at 65 lbs. Just depends on genetics. Mine has a black mal mask but otherwise GSD coloration patterns, and mal energy levels w/ GSD off switch (ie she is gogogogo but inside she calms down right away)
Just for the record the dog in this video is in phenotype looks like a working line German shepherd. But the Malinois and German Shepherd or the X Malinois as they are called or X herder are larger then traditional Belgian Malinois or Dutch shepherds. Actually the Dutch Shepherd does have German Shepherd in its ancestry because they needed to resuscitate the breed many decades ago. They combine the tenacity and Agility of the Malinois with the more solid nerves, bone, and size and bite of the working line German Shepherd. They can look like purebreds as they are very closely related breeds.
Now my dog make sense. Other says it belgian Malinois and other says its german shepherd because it really looks like a german shepherd. But judging by its fur, its not so hairy like the german and not so skinny like Belgian Malinois.
I have a puppy 14 weeks old just the same and I have a 4 year old son too and frankly I have no problems I means yes he does nibble as every puppy does but if you tell him NO and give him a chew toy he stops alone and he loves playing with my son they even sleep together he isn't my first and they were always the same I've introduced them at a young age idk how people say they need to be supervised makes no sense
