Love these videos. Unfortunately most are of finished or near finished dogs. I'd love to see more videos of the training techniques that get these results

I had to watch. I had a great alpha-beta GSD female named Cheyenne before my current beta girl Amber. Both excellent dogs, different personalities, different profiles. My Amber was found in the Mojave by a very kind lady who spent $2k to get her into adoptable shape & put her in WGSR. When found she was weak, starving, she'd been shotgunned with dove shot in the rear legs. She was scavenging dead rats, mice whatever she could find. She will still dig up dead gophers if I don't tell her "Leave it!" & hunt & kill rodents to this day, even though she eats very very well - bison, venison, game hen, duck, chicken, fish, beef or pork with her kibble every day. Yeah! Spoiled, but she's worth every penny! Awesome dogs, shepherds!

Wow....how do I train my gsd to be so obedient....how many hours of training is needed to reach this level?

Thanks!! It’s a lot of fun but yes a lot of work! Honestly this is after a few thousand hours of training.. but also combined in protection and tracking. Lots of training!

Would u recommend me to get an East DDR German shepherd or Czech Working line? As in which one has a higher drive cause I don't wanna get one where the drive is extremely high when I'm tired. 😩😴

Czech line is a lot more likely to be higher drive. Generally speaking that DDR line dogs are on the lower end of drive.. just depends on the breeding. Of course there are always exceptions. Czech line dogs have their roots in Czech border patrol so the dogs were bred to be very sharp, edgy, quick to react/respond, and drivey. The West German working line dogs (like Cheyenne in this video) tend to be a balanced overall.

Amazing! How many pounds does she weigh? I plan to have one. Do male German shepherd dogs make much more trouble then female?

@@noahliang9553 She's probably around 75 pounds here lean/healthy. We keep their weight healthy to not put excess stress on their joints & support overall health. But also allow them to be fit to compete in sport. Males tend to mature more slowly. Really just depends on what you're looking for and if you train them early on.

@@courtneysk9crew what a beauty. I came across your page looking for videos on GSD gait analysis. Am I wrong or does Cheyenne z Pohranic have an atypical GSD gait? I'm currently researching breeds to join me running, mountain biking , hiking and backcountry snowboarding that would excellent at advanced obedience, agility, and can also do bite work. The gaits of most GSD's I see appear to significantly stress the rear hips. I don't think they would be able to run for many years. And they're also usually on the heavier side. 90 lbs+. Any advice on lines or breeders I should be looking at? I would prefer a dog around 70 lbs. I have considered the Manliness/Dutch Shepherd, but I have read the GSD is easier to live with. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
