You really do a great job finding these elusive locations, and sharing your enthusiasm! I’ve commented before, re: my dad serving in WW2, surviving the Battle of the Bulge- I so wish that the internet had been around while he was still alive-he would have LOVED all of this. A bit off topic, but maybe interesting story for you: most of the men in my dads family served, and my Grandfather served in WW1. Using chemical weapons was not legal, I think, but the Germans did so anyway. My Grandfathers platoon was pinned down in a trench, and the Germans attacked them with Mustard Gas. It killed most of them, but my GF survived by hiding under his fallen friends-because the Germans would come through and bayonet anyone left alive. He was under those bodies for 2 days-finally found by Americans-and spent 9 months recovering in a Paris hospital. We only have 3 aunts from that generation remaining, and I love talking to them and getting these stories. So, I completely understand your interest. Keep it up!

Alicia Hinesley respect to you Grandfather, the terror of waiting under dead comrades, to scared to move knowing enemy may be near. My grand uncle served in New Zealand regiment in france,WW1 &i have a british & french bayonet as momentos he bought back to New Zealand. 🙂

Thank you, Tiana & Jeremy, and I return your respect for your own family who served. My dad, who died when I was 25, had 1 brother, 6 sisters, 1 sister in law, and 5 brother in laws, and the older I get the more of these stories I hear. My dad wasn’t one to talk about his part in the war-but he was very smart & enterprising, and read anytime he wasn’t working-mostly history, biographies of military leaders, etc... I wish I had talked to him more regarding the war. One remaining sister ( my aunt) is 85, and is a treasure trove of stories, and I love talking to her. ❤️. It’s amazing how little I knew and appreciated the true sacrifice of all soldiers.

I love your videos. My grandfather was a Sherman tank commander in WW2. He won't talk much about what he saw. Just always says that the German panzer and tiger tanks were far superior to ours. These videos give me a glimpse of what he may have seen during the war and I really appreciate you taking the time to do these.

That is massive location with a lot of different features. Hard to believe the Germans would put all their efforts into building this area and then just up and leave. The structures here are different than other locations you’ve shown us. The little tunnel through the rocks would be a nice location to metal detect. The soldiers may have sat in there during bad weather and something fell out of their pockets. Eagle Eyes could have worked for the Allies in military intelligence studying reconnaissance photos. He has a way with spotting and noticing so many features. Wonder what is there that hasn’t been seen yet?

What an incredible set up. So much effort placing and building those ammo and personnel bunkers, just to move out after a short time. That box in the Tobruk position definitely looked like an ammo box, worth trying to retrieve it. I always love and admire the way that you happily give us the opportunity to win whatever you find in the field. We really appreciate all the effort it takes to check out these places. Especially trying to keep up with Eagle Eye's boundless energy. :) :) Thank you my friends ! Cheers and stay well !

I wonder how much ancient archaeology was destroyed by the Germans building these places. High ground has always attracted people, and especially militaries. I have to think that others used many of these sites over the centuries. This particular site is one of the most beautiful I've seen you visit btw.

Very well done sir, thank you for preserving the history, be safe out there, try to carry a 1st aid kit, emergency rations, spare socks, t shirts etc.too. I'd bring some crackers peanut butter a flare gun and for that anything that can happen situation, a good .45 cal., just a safety thing or two. Keep up the great work, the relics I've found in Europe are amazing.

@@WW2HistoryHunter my pleasure indeed, thank you for getting back with me, now here in the states, the main focus on digs is the civil war, I've found shrapnel, fired rifle musket rounds .58 cal ,buckles, screws,etc..., mass Graves are everywhere too, unknown men just thrown into a makeshift grave. Sad to think of living relatives not even knowing a great grand father may be there.
