Brilliant, it should be preserved, this is such important bit of all our history and quite fascinating.

I’m not sure if you are an American but how do you go about preserving a piece of history that represents an idea that is no longer excepted without looking like one of those people? That’s a serious question just because people are ripping American history apart right now and I fear we will revert to an earlier point in our history without it.

Airplanes, ships, guns, all important tools of war. But what is impressive in all of your videos is the concrete! Of course, that usually is all that is left! ;) But the Germans used so much concrete on everything they built! The engineering they used in so many things was very, very impressive. It is too bad that it all was used for such evil. Thanks again for sharing another great adventure!

I agree Jim. I've never seen so much concrete in every video he shows. Must be enough concrete to build a 4 lane highway from coast to coast in the US, 3000 miles.

Those naval storage bunkers are just incredible and definitely should be preserved. Those were carved into the side of the mountain and are still in great shape, despite not being maintained all of these years. German engineering was outstanding truly. I can't imagine how amazing that adventure would have been exploring those positions and those bunkers, especially with that wonderful view of the sea. No wonder someone was inspired to convert an old barracks site into a cabin. Once the vegetation was cut back, what a great view they had from the back porch of their cabin! As a fellow Navy veteran, I can relate to your excitement about this site. Very cool, indeed, my friend. Well done, as always, by you and Eagle Eyes!

This was particularly interesting as my late Dad was a submariner during WW2. He was great at describing things and really got the imagination going, but it's a pleasure to watch your videos to bring things to life. Dad was an explosives expert and I remember asking him about the dangers of carrying torpedoes around. He told us that most were put together and primed aboard the subs as you explained, to prevent disasters. They usually waited for the Captain's order before preparing depth charges and torpedoes etc. I have the greatest respect for submarine crews as conditions were not always pleasant and it was a dangerous occupation. Many thanks for your always-informative videos, which are nearly as good as my Dad's explanations. That "almost" is not meant as a slight on your excellent work, by the way - it's just because he was my Dad.

There's a lot of those 'conversions' in France, used to be as coastal holiday homes but there's specific bunkers which have been built around and incorporated into housing blocks/flats... More along the Channel coastline that I know of though possibly elsewhere as well.

While you were interested in the Luftwaffe growing up, am sure the submarines have a special place in your heart. Showing the defensive positions for this location was interesting to see. In the first, long narrow room you went into, you called it torpedo storage. That doesnt make sense to me, because how do you get the torpedos out? There are two 90* corners. I would think that would be too difficult to get them out. Maybe it just held other things.

What a awesome place!! U-boat's played major role's in the war like cutting off supply line's, sinking around 3,000 allied ship's, mostly merchant ship's, only about 175 were warship's. They had just over 1,100 U-boat's. U-48 was the most successful, on just 12 patrol's sank over 50 ship's heavily damaging 3!! I wonder if it was ever at this location. Eagle eye's your doing such a great job, keep it up and never stop looking in all the corner's and discovering thing's most people pass by and miss!! OOHHH I love the Unterwasserboots and the Wolf Packs! 4:46 I spotted something I dont think you saw? Right in the middle a telegraph pole that would have been a mast for the the ULF wireless communication - Das Funken Raum! It has a wire still attached. The length of that wire determines the frquency of the radio signal to talk to the Wolf Pack. I will come with my tools and white paint we will restore this mighty edifice. Oil up the hoist so it runs quietly and smoothly.😉👍👍👏👏👏👏

Torpedoes are very expensive to build. They could cost more than the ship they were shooting it at. That's the reason WW2 Submarines had large caliber artillery guns mounted on the deck. It cost far less to sink a ship with a gun than with a torpedo. The convoys ended that option as they included War Ships that could and did shoot back with artillery or depth charges.

Another great adventure. Interesting contrast between the wonderful, green forest of the hill and the dirty grey concrete of the bunkers. I'll take the forest, anytime. Thank you.

I’ve been watching a few other RU-vid pages with the same subject, you sir are very knowledgeable about this subject of what was what and how it was used, the others say I don’t know what it was, but you know what something is, And if 24 Celsius is hot, then in Australia will kill you when it’s never below 42 lol 😂

Loved your video as always it would be good if these buildings got restored to how they originally looked so that people could visit them and see/experience who it was I was lucky enough to see old photos of such places in my childhood from family long gone now but remember the old photos they showed. Keep up the good work stay safe and well Godbless

I would love to donate but I'm on a fixed income, medical disability, but moral support I will gladly give you, you do a amazing job at this, really good description, most just go there & show you the place, you give a full package of what it was, what every piece of scrap metal found was used for even real old original photo's of the place or a similar place or placement, totally excellent job I say, thanks for the videos, take care, play safe, & cheers brother........
