Peeps, I absolutely love your filming and the witty humour is just brilliant. I watch with a permanent smile which turns into laughter. Best biker tourers on RU-vid in my eyes
I don’t comment enough, but thanx for sharing your adventures. Feels like I’m part of it. Laughs, great bike rides and awesome landscapes! Really enjoying the vids!
I agree with rich there. Always wear gear, no matter how hot it gets. If you don't respect the ride, it won't respect you. Hate seeing these yanks in shorts and t shirts. It's so stupid. Proper squids. I love the B500 roads. Absolutely beautiful area. Another fine video.
You can’t help stupid people, we all accept different levels of risk but personally I think if your not wearing kit you should have to pay the bill in the event of needing help
I was on the B500 about 2 days before you by the look of it. But it was closed along the route due to road works and we were diverted. Enjoyed the bit we did. It ended up being a 3 week trip ending up in Dubrovnik with its 40 degrees so I know just how you felt. We also did many stops to Lidl and the ones in Croatia were the best by far. Really enjoying your trip guys, well done.
Thanks guys, another good one, Its great to see your riding but I always look forward to meal times you can always guarantee a laff. Cheers and ride safe.
Brilliant as always guys. "I'm off roading" made me chuckle 😆. I'm planning to ride the B500 en route to the italian lakes next year, so it was great to see it. Shame about those speed limits, but it seems people can't be trusted to self-moderate anymore.
We rode the B500 a couple of days after you (and in the opposite direction) and would agree, it’s lovely if you’re happy to pootle along and enjoy the view, but not a thrilling ride if that’s your thing! (I sit on the back so enjoyed the view as much as I could after 8 hours of riding!) 😂 Thanks for explaining the signs with the hands on, we couldn’t work them out either!
Honestly we are the go slow see more type these days, racing through what we spent days on to go see doesn’t make sense to me but each to their own. Hope you got good weather here
Another great vlog. Hey Rich one of those chops definitely looked better than the other before cooking. Like a true gent Eva definitely ended up with the stringy one. Top man.😂😂👍🏍✊✊✊
Consistently great drone footage. Interested why you choose Africa Twins to go touring on and what kit you use for really hot weather. I hope you keep touring and making videos for as long as you enjoy it.
We have a video on the twins and their mods etc for touring but basically they are the right tool for the job. We use Oxford Mondial textiles and remove the inner layers in hot weather
Great vid group of us onway to Austria did the b500 before it became 50 it was like a race track ha ha.like the quipe ya got a fish in there 🤣🤣 keep safe both 👍🏍
It’s a shame, us bikers have to be responsible for ourselves and always ride at appropriate speeds on the road or they will keep brining in restrictions and cameras
Really good video, I've not heard of the B500, I shall look into that. I had exactly the same experience in France with cars tailgating, even at 5.00 am a short way from the ferry on a deserted road, I ended up with a truck / tractor unit right on my tail... scary. I also agree with you about over safe speed limits (Black Mountain road, Wales) and taking individual responsibility. Unfortunately, there will always be those that push it too far beyond their capability and then the emergency services have to clear up the mess both human and machines!
cant believe you didn't go for the tinned sausage & chick peas again 😂 The B500 looks fantastic 👍. i will have to put that on the bucket list , keep up the good work guys 🥰
The roads through the Black forest look amazing. I have been Germany several times but not on a bike. Some places its hard to get any other meat only Pork. It looked nice shame it was chewy.
Hi Guys As others have said. There are many better roads in Germany than the B500. Also, I noticed the new German speed camera towers are Not shown on TomTom navigation, or weren’t in June of this year. Keep rockin the Crocs.🏍
Please do a foreign phrases vlog to go with the OTR Recipe book. It would be a scream. The cabbage is sauerkraut. Lots of varieties available. Delish. Agree completely with you about speed limits. But the sad fact is that a stupid few ruin it for the rest of us. Tragically. Ride safe team 👍
You sir are a legend! Thank you so much, we see you have done it again! You must be our top supporter and we just can’t thank you enough for your support. Is Ties Bosman a nickname or your real name? I believe you said you are from the Netherlands?
@@ontheroadadventure Just keep it simpel, it’s just money. Your inspiration and humbleness/ modesty is more than money can buy. It’s not shown often now a days. Love you bey👊🏻
Hi Rich and Eva. Did the Black Forrest last September and found the B500 had 50 -70 kph speed limits everywhere - this is as a result of a few reckless riders that have spoiled it for everyone.
Ha that’s funny. Ewa has a German friend who found the article but in German Here you go www.swr.de/swraktuell/baden-wuerttemberg/karlsruhe/schweigekilometer-fuer-motorraeder-auf-der-schwarzwaldhochstrasse-100.html
On the subject of cleanliness of campground WC (toilettes) in mainland Europe, my experience is its become a matter of having to spend more money and stay and a higher "star" rated campgrounds. I pretty much only stay at 4 or 5 star campgrounds now which usually are kept cleaner. Any lower rating and it can be downright disgusting...and you wonder how people were raised to do this!! You no longer see the old cleaning lady with a plate for tips, who was right there cleaning when the toilet seat was still warm. I always look at online reviews as well. Its a matter of sucking it up and paying more for better service. Eva, the issue of drivers riding your ass or doing stupid passing in blind corners is common here and I will never get used to it...and it drives me crazy as well, car or motorcycle. I have got to the point where I will just slow down so much they just pass and leave me alone or lightly apply my brakes or turn on my rear fog light to tell them to back off. I have learned on roads with lots of roundabouts (like Italy), I use the roundabout to "ditch" the tailgaters even if it means going around more than once. Its my new strategy to keep me from giving them the finger and getting myself a 1000 euro fine 🤣.
You get a fine for giving the finger?! We like the roundabout idea, we hate these morons, the fear of being taken out by someone else’s stupidity is always high in Europe, Poland is ridiculous for it as well
@@ontheroadadventure "A driver in Passau has been hit with a €5,000 fine because he was caught by traffic police giving the middle finger. The district court of Passau sentenced the 53-year-old motorist to the fine after he was caught making the rude gesture in the direction of the speedometer last August on the A3 near the Donautal Ost service area, reported German media." It is considered "assault" in the land of the fun police!!
Dropped a well nut for my VFR the other day. Could I find it? Of course not. Found some on that internet site that sells stuff. looked at picture of 1. Bought 3 (just in case) and 30 turned up. Best to read the description 🤦
Not travelled the B500 but I've heard it's no longer a must do road in view of the draconian speed limits. Also, make sure you don't get caught out with the many roads closed to bikers at the weekend!
Sadly this is the case, the cameras are everywhere here you have to be super mindful. Other comments here suggest there are different speed limits for bikers and cars too?! Never heard of that before
@@ontheroadadventure Oh, and you can't mow your lawn on a Sunday, and you must only wash your vehicle at designated centres. No washing your vehicle at home! Lastly, no filtering unless the traffic is stationary - they will pull out to block you!!!
There are several good B roads in Germany and Austria that are now closed to motorcyclists on the weekends. Like you said, it's a few riders going too fast and acting like a$$holes that get great roads closed to the other 98% of riders.
It's not that the B500 is a dangerous road but there were too many dangerous riders, it is not a race track. Too many treated it like that so they had to bring in the limits on the bottom section to reduce deaths. I have ridden it twice, first in 2022 it was fog for most of the road with visibility down to 50 meters at times, not fun and no desire for higher speeds. The second in 2023 it was sunshine all the way and really hot although I cut off it down the L96 to Wolfach then to Triberg, some really great roads, even better than the B500.
I agree you should always wear the gear on a motorbike. I don't understand people in Spain think they will never have an accident and wear summer gear, so stupid. We used to driveable the way to Germany wherever we were on the continent to get me real German wine, can't get it anywhere else.
Yes we much prefer the go slow see more approach, we ride to appropriate speeds but these assholes who want to drive 2 feet from your top box are relentless. I have no idea what goes through their stupid skulls 🤷♂️
It don’t think the B500 is a particularly challenging road even at high speed, so I can’t understand the high accident rate . I don’t rate it that highly either so with a 50 km speed limit I wouldn’t bother if your out for a ride.. plenty of better roads nearby.
@@ontheroadadventure I would LOVE to but I am just the most hopeless with technology. I have promised myself I will learn to as when I do my first big tour I want to be able to share it with my family as I go...
I want to stop and speak to them and not kick off but ask them about their thinking or lack of, would be interesting to hear someone try to justify that level of stupidity
You fine folks are always dressed all in black which doesn’t help with the heat. You’d notice a difference wearing a white helmet in hot weather and lighter colour clothing
It’s a funny thing each of us have always gone for dark clothes and we just don’t feel ourselves in white! You are right though and we only have ourselves to blame lol
That Audi driver. What a total and utter bell end 🤬 Cant beat a Lidl, esp, in its home country 👍 Aaaaand the B500 isn't the road it used to be, completely spoilt now due to the speed limits and the fact that Germany seems to be on a course of anti biking - many many prohibitions for bikes on popular roads now, including 2 stage speed limits ie lower for bikes, higher for cars, on the same stretch of road.
Wow we didn’t know that about the two stage limits? How would we spot these? For some reason it always seems to be Audi drivers up your arse like this, they must get special training when buying one?!
Another good video! Tell us if the 500 road when you’re done it ? Is all that’s it cracked up to be? I thought the meat looked tasty? But you always need fresh bread or rolls with it?
@@ontheroadadventure HI, even in the old days before the silly speed limits I found the B500 overrated. You had to be very lucky to get a clear run on it.
....I'm probably 100% wrong but could have sworn those "hand" signs appear in bends usually accompanied by 50 limits....like a nod to bikers but also a "slow down" thingy.....Wdya think?
That’s what we all thought too but there’s a German artical explaining it www.swr.de/swraktuell/baden-wuerttemberg/karlsruhe/schweigekilometer-fuer-motorraeder-auf-der-schwarzwaldhochstrasse-100.html
