Germany has always had 2 key objectives, passing accuracy and not losing the ball. Even when they are bad, these 2 objectives are their key objectives. If you don't put the ball player under pressure they will cut you too pieces. What happened to pressing?
And I saw that one missed pass😂😂 that's how great he is that you keep remembering that one missed pass. He played amazing, loved that pass to Gündogan before the second goal. That was brilliant football, even though it may not always work out like that against any team.
@@brexistentialism7628 *_"That was brilliant football"_* Against a weak team with a FIFA ranking of 40, while playing half the match with 10 men. 🤣 That high pass completion says less about the German team, it says more about how weak the Scottish team was. They'll never achieve such high pass completion against any top team playing with 11 players, so stop fooling yourself, this German team still sucks, the only think that gets them going is the home crowd.
Kroos doesn’t have bad games .. you rarely see him run .. that’s a man who has mastered his style .. he does the same thing in every single game and it’s always effective .. that’s extremely rare
Losing to a 4-time World Champion and a 3-time European Champion is not embarrassing. If Scotland could not play football, they would not have qualified for the tournament Greetings from Germany
@@makavali-yb7xv Scotland has won 5 games, drawn 2 games and lost once in the qualification of 8 games. if you mean that a 2 :0 Victory over Spain is as easy as winning against Buthan, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea etc or which "top teams" from Asia do you mean? Then I can sleep peacefully as a German. The title is then already certain for us, with all the "bad" European teams 😀
I really missed watching Germany being this dominant while also capitalizing on their chances. Great start and great performances especially from Wirtz and Musiala.
Same here. Best game since the semi final against France in 2016. Although, this time we actually saw some really nice goals, back then we only got very close to scoring many times.
@@bzilla-d4i ??? Europe has 55 countries, it's not just Italy and Germany, so wipe your tears. And by the way, this comes from a Romanian who always roots for Italy 1st and Germany 2nd in tournaments, so I should be the first to cry that these 2 national teams are garbage. But 1) they are NOT garbage (albeit not as good as in the previous decades) and 2) they are NOT the entire Europe. If you're truly European you will find joy in supporting and watching other national teams winning the Euro, like for example my nation, Romania (but which I advise you not to root for this time as we are pure garbage), or root for Croatia, or - why not - for Georgia? This is Georgia's 1st Euro, wouldn't it be amazing if they won it all? Or, Belgium maybe? Belgium's trophyless run had been going on for too long, it's time their golden generation (or what's left of it) got a trophy in their cabinet (Belgium are my favorites to win it all this Euro, and this is weird coming from a Romanian that's in the same group with Belgium, but it is what it it...) Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that Italy and Germany are not what they used to be, yes. But they're also not the only reason for which the Euro can be fun or competitive (since competitiveness is what you're crying about), so wipe your tears and enjoy the tournament regardless of the outcome. I'm 10000% confident that - just like with any other major footballing tournament - we will see some bangers at this Euro, too. And I am willing to bet my entire household on a devalued dollar that those bangers will not include either Italy or Germany. Let's just stay tuned and we will get to see some really good matches as there are many quality teams in this Euro
@@blabla-rg7ky no offense meant but we carry the torch for the continent, there are 8 World Cups and 5 European titles between us, that's more than the rest of Europe combined.
Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are something special man and their performances for Germany against Scotland is proof on the amount of talent both of these players possess. Both of them don’t have the same level of PR as Jude Bellingham and other young players and these guys don’t need PR to be seen as world class and when you just watch them, you can appreciate their ability and what they do even if the media doesn’t hype them and push different agenda in their favor. I can’t believe that Germany will have both Wirtz and Musiala on the same team for a decade and they’re going into their prime and they’re just special players one of them will win a Ballon Dor one day and you have one of them on either side drifting across multiple positions in the field just to impact the game and that alone is what makes them dangerous. They were absolutely fantastic and Julian Nagelsmann was able to use both of them as their 2 number 10s behind the striker and man they delivered and both of them got on the score sheet. Their impact in a game isn’t always reflected off the stat sheet simply because they’re fun to watch and they pass the eye test with flying colors whenever they have the ball and they’re going at their defenders. Alongside Toni Kroos, as long as Wirtz and Musiala are playing like this, Germany have the potential of achieving great things together at the EUROs.
Shhh. Don’t let the folks at Sky Sports hear this 😜. To them Foden, Palmer, Saka are waay better🤦♂️. I agree with u mate. German soccer has a very bright future 💪
@@birni3078 I see Beier definitely developing into a number 9. He already possesses the killer instinct and clinical finishing. Behind him Wirtz Musiala and Gruda will be nothing but nasty. I really don't see how guys like Ouadraogo Darvich or Brunner will fit in. Also Moukoko is still only 19. I guess it's good to have a second suit of similar quality. lol With Stiller we already have the next Kroos and with Pavlovic the next upgraded version of Khedira. Defense with Schlotterbeck and Malik Thiaw this is a proper ball playing defense. With Seimen the next TerStegen in the making and with Krätzig the next Philip Lahm. The future looks extremely good.
with all due respect to germany, this is why we can’t just act like they are back to their best after one game - this scotland team is absolutely rubbish.
I'm german. Most of the germans hoped for an 1:0 maybe 2:1, in best case 2:0. We didnt believe it would go so well. But we don't want to overrate this result. 2 more games of that class and we can talk if we are candidates for Semifinal or Final. Modesty is the key. Long time we were spoiled by success. But the Performances between 2018 and 2023 showed us, that we are not that good. We had quality players, but not a good team chemistry. I guess thats better now. I hope for at least the semi final!
To all you Craig Burley haters, look how honest he is about his own country… delusional fans that cannot handle the truth about their shitty teams club performances. Props to you Craig, you’re always honest, even though people can’t handle the truth.
Well it’s good they have low expectations, that way they won’t be prepared and will have no clue what to do when Germany beats them. I bet they will then still say „well but England wasn’t at its best“ just can’t say that Germany was the better team🤷🏻♀️
@@Lea_004you mean just like the germans did when england knocked them out in the last tournament 🤔 😂😂😂 besides america beat you all in the wars so bow to daddy america 😂
They were playing against rubbish today. You can't judge their Championship potential after that. Also they are literally the only team you've seen. At least watch the entirety of Round 1 before jumping the gun. 😆
@@wolfpack7gunner we ended your empire tommy now your queen is in a box and your ruler is indian. Also if anything america is also your daddy just ask tony blair

Naglesmann is the best manager at the tournament, the team is at home, its Germany..they will go a long way and the team that beats them will win it..step forward England?
@@RonaldChifambathat's because you don't watch his other matches😂😂. It's just like saying Trent is not good because he is always getting cooked at right back
People will say that “it’s Scotland don’t get on the Germany hype train yet”, but given their slow starts in the past couple of tournaments, they hit the ground running and are looking set to have a good EUROs. Winning 5-1 was a comprehensive win. When you’re the much better team you’re expected to take care of business and get the job done. A team that’s seen as a contender to go all the way in the tournament, these are the teams you should be beating comfortably because others often struggle when they have to deal with breaking down low blocks and it wasn’t an issue for Germany today. This is exactly what Germany did and apart from one unlucky moment where they conceded a goal the game was already won, they were in control for the entire game and this game was won in a dominant way where in front of goal they were lethal and converted all their chances and on any day, they would’ve doubled the goals that they scored. Julian Nagelsmann got everything right he went for his strongest lineup and made sure that even with all of these creative players that they had balance with resulted in a world class performance from an attacking perspective. There was a lot of hype surrounding their midfield going into this tournament and it delivered today with Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz on top of their game alongside Toni Kroos who had an unbelievable performance and if those 3 are in form playing the way they did today, Germany will deal with tougher tests than the one that they faced and they will be ready for that. Not because of their dominant performance, but due to their recent form and the quality of this team, I’m telling you, they have to be taken seriously and I wasn’t wrong when I said that. We need to see how the likes of France England and Portugal do at their opening game of the tournament, overall Germany have such a strong team who are among the contenders to win the EUROs this summer.
Agree in general, but Germany were not tested in any way, shape, or form. As a matter of fact, seeing their high-up-the- pitch defense, I suspect against better teams they are going to get found out (.. same with Spain). Andrich getting a yellow on an unlikely significant counter by the Scots is a forewarning. And Rudiger and Tah are not particularly suited to retreat in time against fast counters if caught on the back foot. True, one may argue that against a France or England the tactics might change somewhat to adopt a less offensive stance but I get the feeling that a team with on-point, clinical counterattacks is going to tear them to pieces. It'll all come down then to who outscores who..
@dominiquep-ni6xu May not happen until Round of 16 or Quarter Finals. Though I have a hunch Hungary is going to put them up against the wall on various occasions during the Group game. They're tactically equal if not more disciplined and sound like Greece but offensively more threatening. That'll be a good litmus test of Germany's potential, though not conclusive until they meet the likes of an England, Portugal or France.. perhaps even Italy. We'll see.
@@josefernandez7780 That's how Germany usually start into successful tournaments. First game blowout second and third games are tight including one draw or even one loss.
In typical Scottish and English fashion they downplayed the Germans being good and talked about the scots…my god had England, Spain or France dismantled the Scot’s these clowns would be going g crazy. Only the French guy is sensible on here. They almost seemed surprised, Germany is a football nation…Scotland is not
Well not only is that an arrogant answer by stating Scotland isn't a footballing nation (It is. Scotland will always be a footballing nation. The level of talent present in a nation doesn't determine whether they are or aren't a footballing nation. Passion does.), it's a disingenuous one. If England had beaten Scotland like this, banter would be aplenty. If France or Spain beat Scotland like this, it would be a step on the road to getting to the final.
The old school Brazilian coaches, responsible for the "Brazilian Style" of Pele, Socrates etc, referred to the "Brazilian Style" as the "Scottish Way" because they learnt it from Scottish missionaries. They played and hosted the first International game. But yeah Scotland isn't a football nation, and I'm English btw.
Not a football nation !? What dimension you living in , the country that played the first ever international football match. Moronic thing to say. Must be American.
Facts they played like it was a friendly in euros match against 10 man Scotland in the second half for Christ sake attack Scotland embarrass them its a euros match in your own country
With Nagelsmann as the coach, i don't see any team beating them. Your best will be a draw and even if you can beat them it will maybe be penalties. That guy is a genius. You can have Messi, Benzema and Ronaldo as your attack but they won't even have a shot on target against his team. The only thing that can fail Germany from winning is their selves, especially if they don't take their chances in the big games.
They were easily able to get inside the Scots men's heads! Ironically both Hungary & Switzerland are capable of getting inside the German players' heads, so it'll be interesting to see how the Germans will deal with that. If you're by any chance a fan of Scotland, i wish you guys better luck against the other 2 teams in the group! I am a fan of Germany, so it is in the best interest of Germany that Scotland does well against Hungary & Switzerland! 🤞👍
First of all: Keep your head up Scotland ! Especially in the 2nd half with 10 men they fought so good ! I like their team and their fans are superb ! I hope they can make it out of the group stages somehow. And Man, I love those salty comments about us 😂 I genuinely missed people being jealous of us Germans, not giving us really credit and constantly try to downplay EVERYTHING we do, because we performed so badly for the last 3 tournaments. There are so many nations in the world who were traumatized by Germany for decades (except for Italy) and especially the British as you could always hear and see the resentment and jealousy towards us. In the last few years it was more ridicule (and rightfully so). I just hope we can prove with our next few matches that we’re truly back and a force to be reckoned with. Yes, Scotland weren’t great but we exposed their weaknesses and punished their mistakes.
let’s not act as if the german media is getting extremely excited about their victory. if you’re so annoyed about the coverage from the english media not giving germany their props, why not try to follow the german media 👍
That's what I don't care what they say tbh. Whenever they score more then 2:0 against an average team it doesn't matter how bad the opposition might've been, they're always try to hype themselves up and convince themselves that it's FINALLY coming home...Only to then loose to the first proper team they face and then act like the ONLY reason they lost was because THEY made so many mistakes and not giving any credit to the other team punishing their mistakes whatsoever. England haven't won ANYTHING for like 60 years now and YET they're always try to paint themselves as favourites just because they have some good players on paper. If you'fe constantly try to downplay Germanys win against Scotland because they weren't as good, it's just Scotland were so bad HOW on earth can they call themselves favourites despite not playing one single minute in the tournament and NOT won ANYTHING since 1966 ? It's just funny to me.
Complete two different style of players. Musiala has never played as a 6 or 8 at top level. And Jude has only just started playing as a 10 because of Carlo. Jamal is an attacking wide/Cam and has perfected that position. Better comparison is Musiala or Wirtz.....or Musiala / Foden
On paper, Germany are definitely top 3. Today they looked like top 1 collectively. If they were to play like how they played today the entire tournament, they’ll win it for sure.
After watching the Germans today, I can for sure say England is not winning this cup. There is Italy still to come tomorrow, there will be more surprises in this tournament
There’s probably not a worse side in this competition than Scotland. I tuned out in about the 60th minute. These scots can’t control nor make the simplest of passes. They’re dreadful
I never get pundits when they say "a team allowed...". They say that as if Scotland asked for the 5-1. They didnt allow anything! Germany was that good!
It's true. I expected Scotland to be stronger but after the penalty and the red card it was check mate. Individual class made the first two goals happen and Scotland had then nothing to respond with. Germany could have scored two more.
Ancelotti already has a player like Musiala, but better: Brahim Diaz. He doesn't crack into the starting lineup at Real Madrid although being exceptionally good, unless there are injuries. So, Musiala won't get much playing time at Real Madrid.
Kroos is a maestro! They needed him so much. Just there for a few months but will not be possible to replace him after the tournament. He makes the players around him better and more confident. His aura is amazing!
Well Germany can win this tournament. They are playing well and at home. Julien Nagelsman is one of the best coaches in the business. Germany can beat both an overrated England and France.
That’s why Germany looks strong. Their offensive domination didn’t at all come at the cost of playing high defense. In other words, they played it absolutely defensively safe while still wrecking with the offense
In my opinion they where very clear in theyre praise on them, they are all Scotish so of course the focus is on them. Normal take on the match as i see it
With a little bias it's absolutely ok. German media would have been the same. German 41 year old man, here. Hope the Scottish will so better in rhe upcoming games. Love Scottland.Great fans. Great people. Great Country. Always good times with the lads! GGs✌️
Please the World football body it will be a shame if Toni Kroos dont win Ballon De Or this year with all the titles he won. UEFA should not allow him retire after this tournament wow the boy is very young and Phänomen. He is simply the World best
It’s anyways like this. They also disrespect the BL like crazy. Seems they are biased against anything or anyone German. The only non delusional pundit is Kliensmann. All the rest are PL/England deluded
Not surprised, the real question here is what is Scotland doing on this Euros, without meaning to offend any Scott...they need to change those qualifying groups, some countries are here only because of easy group, or maybe go back to 16 teams tournament, otherwise we'll watch many dominant wins like this one.
