Almost 20 years ago during WW1, opposing troops needed weeks or even months to advance a few miles, in a devastating war of attrition and trenches. This time, however, Hitler has another plan and he will strike with lightning speed and perfect coordination of air and ground units. First, air strikes will destroy enemy planes while they are grounded. Bombers will follow, targeting transport hubs and weapon depots. Dive bombers will mercilessly hit the enemy lines while at the same time they will use their machine guns to strafe the civilian population, creating confusion and panic in the Polish army and chaos on the streets. Then, the motorized infantry will attack, which together with light tanks and motorized artillery will advance as deep as possible into the enemy lines, while heavy tanks will break through the toughest defensive positions. In the end, the infantry will arrive to occupy the urban centers and crush all the remaining resistance.
Today, Hitler invades Poland and the whole world witness lightning war for the first time.
