[Germany] Munich Firefighting Convoy Responding!

Captured here is Munich's historic main fire station, located in the city center of Bavaria's state capital. After spending a few hours at this beautiful location I was able to record three separate responses of the Munich Fire Department (Feuerwehr München) to various emergencies. In the last clip, you will see the 'firefighting convoy', as it is called in Germany, responding to an automatic fire alarm activation. The convoy is made up of two command cars, a rescue engine, a turntable ladder, and an ambulance!

May I add some details: a regular 'convoy' consists of a command car (Battalion Chief), two engines, the ladder and an ambulance. Because of the high risk location the second command car also responds, which would roughly be equvalent to a District Chief (Munich is separated in two districts by the FD, north and south. The District Chief responds to both districts. Only the City Chief is over the District Chief, but he only responds in rare cases to big incidents). Thx for the great video 🤙🏻💪🏻

Danke dir Bro! Ja da hab ich mich auf jeden Fall gefreut. Am besten ist jedoch der Moment bei 1:21 wo wir uns mit der Richtung des HLFs geirrt hatten und man nur so “häh” im Hintergrund hört... 🤣🤣

quite a nice effect for nearby residents: most of the large fire stations in Germany have traffic lights to control and stop traffic in case of an alarm; Thus the apparatus can respond both quick and quiet on the first few hundred meters

Why do Germam and Dutch stations send so many appliances to jobs all at once or are they always big jobs?

As you can see, not always all vehicles are responding (first minuites of the video). In germany we respond to certain calls with that "much" apparatus because it saves time and lifes. If an automatic alarm goes of we expect it to be the "real deal" and not a malfunction or someone smoking in a hotelroom. When there is a real fire and you arrive only with one vehicle and 6 guys you are in big trouble. Better be there and have some personell and material at hand for an effective first attac. Or to say it with german: "Besser haben und nicht brauchen als es zu brauchen und nicht zu haben." - "Better have it and dont need it than to need it and dont have it." Another reason may be that in german cities there are often few but big stations with much personell and equipment. In US cities like NY there is a staion almost like around every corner but smaller. In the end you mostly will see the same amount of people and vehicles on scene. my 2 cents.

depends on the call; Some calls will be done with only one or two apparatus, but for some kinds of alarms there's a predefines combination of apparatus which will be dispatched, that's the case e.g. for fire alarms, reported structure fires etc; Instead of sending e.g. 5 apparatus from 3 different stations you rather see all 5 coming from 1 station
