Wanna really keep power and speed a factor? Look at aroldis chapman at how he keeps his back (mound) knee bent while kicking the other leg and by doing that he gives himself more power by being able to extend that back leg after and push off harder.

He doesn't have much hip/shoulder separation.

Seems like his shoulders could be more angled/closed.

And he has a slight bend in his front leg. Everyone is brainwashed into pitching against a straight front leg at foot strike. My personal opinion is that is contributed to elbow problems

Creating HACK

Gerrit Cole is an amazing pitcher but those mechanics are not perfect. There is a ton of lost inertia with the “hands separating” due to the eternal rotation drag force at the rotator cuff & MCL/UCL drag at the elbow he is setting up to create during the cocking phase. He also opens up his chest towards the plate a bit too early relative to the timing of the arm & shoulder/ elbows position which is setting himself up for an injury with those mechanics. Gerrit Cole is a very skillful & effective pitcher & thrower using these broken mechanics & he makes a lot of money with it. But the biomechanics & engineering specs of the human body disagree with your assessment.
