This is such a lovely song, and it is a vibe. It reminds me of long car rides as a kid and sleeping stretched out across the backseat of my parents car. Really soothing and sweet.

Gerry rocks it!!! Played this at my wedding ceremony my wifes family held for us about a month after we were married out in Seattle... So many of the aunts and uncles were almost "uber emotional" as they recalled this beauty from their teen years...

This is probably my favorite Gerry Rafferty song. It was featured in Euphoria season two, and I love to see Gerry Rafferty’s music in the spotlight again. The more I listen to Gerry the more I love him. Whether it’s Stealers Wheel Humblebums or solo, This music is so beautiful and so meaningful. What a talented songwriter musician.

Great song ( one of my very favourites ! ), and very nice reaction, Harri .. As you've now done this one and Baker Street, the next Gerry Rafferty song you really need to check out is "Night Owl" .. It's a hauntingly beautiful song about loneliness, and the official video for it is just wonderful .. It has Gerry and the band members recording it, and clearly shows what they're all playing .. Love this song. In 1972 Gerry Rafferty was in the Scottish folk rock band Stealers Wheel & had a big hit with "Stuck In The Middle With You" & "Star". Later on, he went out on his own & then had the big hits "Baker's Street", "Right Down The Line" & "Night Owl".

When that song came out. I was studying Chemical engineering. It is so refreshing. It takes me back in time. Rafferty was a great musician. What a loss! His music is jazzy and magnetic. It flows… Baker Street is also a great song. To play it while sailing in a yatch with a sweet seabreeze and birds flying on the horizon.

The Moon likes to tease you in the next note for the melody. That is the baby boomer.. Generation X like Madonna has Pluto in Leo ruled by the Sun the king. The notes of the whole song is practically worked out in precision beforehand just like when a king gives a court appearance to listen to people's woe or dispense justice.

Gerry Rafferty was class! Great singer songwriter, and famous for his work in the group Stealers Wheel, who had a massive hit with, "Stuck In The Middle With You" He was also a star who hated stardom!!! He was a genius at laying down layers of his different vocals on his songs, creating all the harmonies on his tracks! Lost to the world so early due to alcoholism. Bonnie Rait did a great reggae version of this song.

I once read that Elly Jackson (a.k.a. La Roux, 2008--) really likes Gerry Rafferty's music. His influence can definitely be heard in some of her songs.

This song has aged remarkably well, especially in the U.S. I’ll hear this one on the radio or streaming even more than Baker Street. Both were hits here but Baker Street was significantly bigger at the time and for years after but Right Down The Line has managed to gain on it.
