Mayweather changed the boxing landscape. They will milk a fighter dry until they’re past their prime before they put them in with a top level guy. It’s like cashing out. Or they’ll build up a bum to feed them to these boxing stars. Compare the way the previous generation fought to now and these guys have no balls. Mayweather paid off the refs in allowing him to hold excessively, Canelo paid off the judges and when that became a meme and the public caught on, he flat out started fixing his fights. That’s where we’re at now. A tiny guy like tank with a feminine frame could never have THAT kind of power. He did catch Santa Cruz, but Santa Cruz was smaller than him. I'll never understand these "gym wars" at all. Sparring is supposed to be technical, its suppose to be about learning and working on things. It shouldn't be a dick measuring contest between 2 tough guys taking years off of each others careers. You would think if Floyd cared about developing his fighters he would have them spar responsibly. Its like he actually wants to damage them and ensure that they don't develop as well as they could. Also it gives casual fans a false idea of what pro fighters do to prepare for a fight. They think these gym wars are what sparring is actually like.
One thing I hate about "doghouse" sparring is that it teaches them to wrestle and force things when they're in a bad positiond. This is why these dudes never develop actual boxing skills and always resort to muscle framing, rabbit punching, clinching, ect. It's for fighting, not for boxing.
This is how Tank's fights would look if they were real, cause he's little , but he doesn't take the fight to his opponents like a Lomachenko or a Mike Tyson would, cause as a little guy, you need to close the distance for you to land anything meaningful, a perfect example of this was the Lomachenko/ Linares fight where Loma was landing a lot short punches on the inside accompanied by excellent head movement , and Tank Davis isn't on that level 😂🤷🏾♂️ ...

The thing I find interesting is how much Floyd was advising Devin against his own fighter. Makes you think at what point is Floyd going to pull the parachute on tank.
Once the fight actually gets made. Willing to bet the haneys turning to mayweather was the reason they robbed Garcia and turned his win into a no contest.
I remember when Wladimir Klitschko dominated the heavyweight division for 10 years barely even losing rounds while systematically destroying best possible opponent / contender after such opponent and the excuse for not making him the undisputable heavyweight GOAT was his level of opposition are the worst in history relative to past 'heavyweights' (who would be cruiserweights today). Yet, here we have Tank beating up a bunch of hopeless opposition(not the best possible opposition like WLAD) and he is given insane praise. The hypocrisy is mind-boggling.

The problem here is that Mayweather knows his shit. Obviously Loma can be beaten, not by Tank, but by time. I.e. the fight could be signed if May saw the aging elements of Loma necessary for Tank to win. But it's a mystery what could be seen in Loma's last fight, other than progression compared to the fight against Haney.... So yeah, looks like the fight won't be signed. Unless they have some sort of insider info regarding Loma's serious health issues or something. Anyway, the fact is Tank can't do it without significant discounts, yeah.
Tank doesn't have the leverage to drain Loma without draining himself. And, it will be very hard landing a perfect punch, anyway. I will be surprised if the fight is signed.
