Five Questions - Interviews with Survivors of the Nuclear Weapons Industry
Die IPPNW Deutschland hat am Rande der zweiten Vertragsstaatenkonferenz des Atomwaffenverbotsvertrags Interviews mit Überlebenden der Atomwaffentests und der nuklearen Kette geführt. Überlebende waren von Beginn an Kämpfer*innen für ein Verbot dieser Waffen und stehen bis heute mit ihrem Wissen über die Folgen im Zentrum der weltweiten Bewegung.
Die Interviews sind Teil des Projekts To Survive is to Resist, das die Perspektive der Überlebenden in die deutsche Öffentlichkeit einbringen soll. Wir wollen erreichen, dass Deutschland sich an der Unterstützung von Überlebenden und der Umweltsanierung betroffener Gebiete beteiligt und langfristig dem Atomwaffenverbotsvertrag beitritt. Denn nur in einer Welt ohne Atomwaffen kann es eine gemeinsame, sichere Zukunft für alle Menschen geben.

IPPNW Germany conducted interviews with survivors of nuclear weapons tests and the nuclear chain at the second Conference of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Survivors have been campaigners for a ban on these weapons from the very beginning and are still at the center of the global movement today with their expertise on the consequences.
The interviews are part of the ‘To Survive is to Resist’ project, which aims to bring the perspective of survivors to the German public. We want to ensure that Germany participates in supporting survivors and the environmental remediation of affected areas and joins the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in the long term. Because only in a world without nuclear weapons can we achieve a common, secure future for all people.
