it was a little hard to follow some of the objections to keyline, I did a course with Darren Doherty in 2011 where all sorts of caveats were applied depending on the context, I think simply objecting on the grounds that it was developed in Aus is spurious given keyline has been applied successfully in many countries in many different contexts, vietnam, california, UK, Sweeden etc. I agree there are examlpes of bad design (or not the best solution lets say) especially swale systems, moreso in the early days I think, thesedays designers have muti decade system examples to learn from. Also I don't think it's fair to say everyone must practice on their own land first, if that were the case very few regenerative systems would be designed in the first place, everyone has to start somewhere and inexperienced designers will have access to myltiple experienced mentors. There is no one size fits all solution, so it's good to get many perspectives, thanks for sharing this conversation Dario.

I agree, but I didn't say it can't be applied out of Australia. I said that there is a different geology and landscape. I do get what you say though. On the poor designs I just feel that if one wants to learn, one has to be clear that he/she is in apprenticeship.

@@lorenzocosta3951 I think we're on the same page Lozenzo, I was stuggling to follow a bit with the auto-translate, inexperienced designers should be prepared to share their portfolio, and the level of input from their mentor/consultant as part of the pitch to give the client confidence and help avoid costly mistakes or poor deisgn decisions.

Sono un po' confuso dopo questo video, non so se con terreno argilloso (con pendenza tra il tre e il 18 percento) abbia o meno senso scavare swale!

Certo che può avere senso farle. Il terreno argilloso infiltra solo lo fa più lentamente. Dovrai calcolare bene la capacità di raccogliere acqua dei canali in base all'area di captazione

Ti consiglio anche di fare la prova per vedere in quanto il tuo terreno infiltra l'acqua, se ore o giorni. Basta un buco in cui butti un secchio d'acqua, quando la vedi abbassare vuol dire che si è infiltrata, segnati le ore, ecc.
