This opens up a whole new world for me. So far i am used to trying the figure sketching from the "anatomical position" which is pretty unnatural compared to what you have shown today. Im going to give this a try. I think its going to be difficult to make the person look balanced and in proportion but i will use some reference pictures - perhaps of dancers or sports people. With gestures, go for the feel of the pose, rather than accuracy. When you study anatomy and proportion, focus on accuracy. Eventually all those things will come together. Glad you liked the video!
