Mine had many different vocalizations depending on who or what was entering the yard. He was always happy to see the landlords (who doted on him) and had a special 'Woo woo WOO' just for them.

Lol...I remember the first time I heard a husky scream. She just met my cow dog and guard dog. I was like no...I think it's best your screaming husky not com over. I have a husky mix now a d she never screams. She does howl and it's hilarious. She like to howl at the end of conversations...lol.

I have Polish Lowland Shepherd and honestly, she is not that different from the husky ;) She also can drive us nuts, especially when we want to sleep and 12 AM and then she declares play time, she is also as stubborn as husky, and when she doesn't want to listen to you, she won't.

My family bred collie rough (Lassie) growing up, i thought i'd never gravitate to any to any other breed, especially when I got my first Husky I intially thought i had made the biggest mistake of my life.. but i perservered and learned to understand him. Then i realised i had one of not only the most beautiful but also smartest breeds on the planet. When i lost him to cancer at only 6yrs old, i knew i could no longer navigate my life unless I had a husky in it...hence my now beautiful clever cheeky boy Spirit...if you have just got one never give them up do everything to learn about them and understand them , mine makes me laugh and feel happy everyday, i never want to be without him.

My boy loves to run out the door! After a few exhausting chases and a lot of begging alternated with commands, I finally hit on the jingling keys with "Let's go bye-bye!" He jumps in the car, I slam the door, and go get the leash!!😆

@@carolking1502 I had to follow mine around the neighborhood. He would visit all the yards of homes who had his buddies. I’d wait until he went through an open gate & got deep into the yard. I would then step inside & close the gate behind me. He’d hear the gate click closed. He would wheel around and come running over into heel position. Look up at me as if to say… oh, we’re you looking for me? Well why didn’t you say so. lol

My husky is seven years old, and I don't even want to think of the time when I will lose him... Mika is my heart and soul.

​@carolking1502 I taught my husky the commands "FAR ENOUGH" and "WAIT." When he escapes, I yell both commands one after the other in an Alpha voice, and he freezes where he is. On the day I was choosing my puppy from the litter at 12xweeks, Mika approached me on his own, circled me instead of running off like his litter mates whilst I talked to the litter owner, and immediately responded to my command to stop when he looked towards the road. It's one of the many reasons I chose him.

I love to listen to them talk and howl.

I have a Husky (75%) and Eskimo (25%) dog mix and he is by far the best mannered and chillest dog I have ever had. He also only talks when excited or wanting out. He does love the outdoors and will sit in literal hurricanes if you let him. Such a beautiful dog that he is always treated like a movie star when I take him out

I am so sorry for your loss. My sister has an Alaskan Malamute and she is the sweetest dog EVER...a true gentle giant!❤❤❤

My first one was intially the "Houdini Model" but after a year of perserverance and learning to understand him, the escaping stopped and he could go off leash. I think what you have to keep in mind with huskies is that they are nomads by nature and love freedom so you cant expect them to be happy hanging out in the one spot for two long. Ultimately they are not running away from you they would prefer you come with them, so if you keep on the move they will follow. The husky I have these days is an intact male and nearly 5 and has never tried to escape, can go off leash and never destroys things, i do make a point though of walking him everyday rain hail or shine and i do not feed him dog food he is on a diet of raw meat (human grade) so he has zero carbs. He has no treats (doesnt like them) but he loves toys and will do anything for you if you tell him youre going to buy him new toys.

I was really surprised how well our Husky does with our chickens. He was born on the farm so it kinda makes sense, but he is so hyper and crazy until the chickens come over and then he literally tip-toes around them.

My husky doesn't do the screaming! Thank goodness! No howling either. In fact he rarely even barks.

There are so many in animal shelter that people don’t have time for it’s horrible. They are being killed.

No shortage of them available, so many people get them and think they should be happy with the odd pat and 5minute walk around the block...this is NOT the case only get one if you are prepared to love them 24hours a day no matter what they do a walk them for at least an hour a day no matter the weather and make every walk an adventure...if you do that you will be rewarded with love,devotion and laugh ter everyday

Yeh, the breeder of my husky told me her two husky’s once had entered a shed with chicken’s. The owner had,stupidly, closed the doors. They had killed all 27 of them, had to pay €1200.- to reimburse. Expensive chickens.

AMEN. Have a husky as well and this is really all it boils down to: your commitment to THEM. Best dog I've ever had, she'll be three in December. Praying I have her for a long time.
