Hi Anthony and thanks so much for your kind words - really appreciate that and it means the world to me. And thank u especially for the kind words on my tone. I try to keep it simple to be honest - just a killer tube amp, usually with 6L6 tubes in it as those are my favs, an amp that has great sounding saturated gain, a touch of reverb and delay for leads - that about it. Hope you can nail the sounds that u hear in your head - always a challenge for sure - enjoy the journey! Did you check out the guitar tones on my new record? Recently dropped a new record with my original band MIND CELL - I thinks its pretty slamming and I love the tones I got in the studio - check it out and let me know what u think - the title of the record is ABSOLUTE and its streaming on all the platforms and also available at CD baby in CD format. Would love your feedback. Thanks again for watching my lessons - take care and keep up all that hard work on that guitar and keep on rocking! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc & Mind Cell band

My Carbon copy is my reverb when I'm on my practice amps. None of them have reverb. 2 delays on my board. Other is a Donner Echo Square,a 7 modes of delay that's all digital but has a extremely nice reverse delay. When combined can get real nice sound. Also to learn and experiment with my 12 pedal board I use 2 wireless systems and a music stand turned flat. Only wire is electric cord. Make it easy to adjust while playing. Then I write down my settings and what it's useful for. Wah, 3 drives, 2 delays, chorus, phaser, multi effect, boost,10 band E Q at end of line that has 2 outs for 2 amps. Ooh ya and a tuner. Also have on my electric side a couple of 3 out daisies to try other pedals. Each daisy has a unused out covered until needed. Nice way to add/try out different pedals in front of, middle of or at end of board. The end 1 I mostly use with a Boss looper. 2 ins, 2 outs. Still can use my 2 amps if I want.

Hey man I picked up a Keeley Delay workstation and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the pedal . With 8 delay amd 8 reverbs its alot to dial in. I'm also having trouble matching up what reverb works with what delay . Could u do a Video demo on one and help a guy out ? Ha ha
@rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 4 года назад
Hi Graham - hope all is well and thank u for checking out this video. I have not tried that Keeley delay station so Im afraid I can't really comment on using it - sorry I can't be more direct help on this one. But my suggestion is walk it back a bit and start very simple by finding out two things - find the reverb that u like and that sounds the best to your ears. Dial that in first. That pedal sounds like it has a LOT of stuff - keep it simple at first and build from there. Once you have a favorite reverb for the style of music u like be sure and save it or write down the settings - find maybe one or two. Then find a delay setting that you like - maybe one like for your lead tone like I discussed in this video. Again just the delay - keep the reverb off while choosing and exploring. Just a simple delay at first - adjust he time of delay, the mix, and the feedback or repeats. Once you have that - save it or write down the settings - then add the reverb to the delay. Build simple at first. There is probably a million different things u can do with that delay station so you want to build sounds based off what sounds you hear in your head and what sounds best to your ears for the music you want to create. Keep it simple, experiment, and build. Hope that helps. Keep up all that hard work on that guitar and stay tuned as lots more killer lessons and content coming soon. Take care, be safe, and keep on rocking! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.

@rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 11 месяцев назад
Hi Mark and thank u for watching. Its a total season to taste thing with the parameter settings. Generally I like to start pedals around the 12 o'clock setting and go from there. With delay it a real nuance thing as u want the repeats or feedback, but not too many, and u want the time of the delay right - so just try some experimentation as per ur tastes and the individual pedal and u can get it dialed in just so - hope that helps. @rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 2 года назад
Hi and thank u for watching. No secret really - just some distortion from the tube amp and then a little delay like I mention in this lesson - then a splash of reverb on top - thats it - the delay really brings out the hugeness - give it a try and let me know if you have any follow up questions. And thank u so much for checking out the video and for ur kind words - really appreciated. u rock!! Enjoy and stay tuned - lots more content coming soon. What is you opinion on the Echoplex Delay as opposed to the Carbon Copy
@rockongoodpeople

I have not played thru that Echoplex so I really can't comment on it. My apologies on that. But there are a lot of killer delay pedals on the market today. Personally I prefer analog delay, as it sounds a bit warmer to my ears and I like that. I also like the Llama delay pedal by JAM pedals and also the Keeley Caverns pedal By Keeley Electronics. @rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 2 года назад
Hi Graham and thank u for checking out this video and for your kind words - most appreciated! As far as where in the chain - personally I like delays and reverbs in the amp effects loop. So in this video the delay and reverb are in the effects loop and Im on the lead high gain channel on the amp. There are no rules set in stone, but I personally like the sounds of the delays and reverbs and modulation effects in the loop - just my preference. @@rockongoodpeople cool man, I like those effects in the loop to when I'm using the amps gain, but if I get my high gain from a pedal, it's the same idea correct? ....but then there is using the high gain pedal and still using the fx loop of a clean amp to run delay/verb/mod. ...that's a totally different thing then right?

HI again Graham - generally I like overdrive and distortion pedals in front of the amp and not in the loop. I just like the way they sound in front of the amp as well as u r kicking the amp a bit harder, driving it harder with the overdrive in front of the amp. No rules set in stone but mostly conventional wisdom. Totally experiment though and see what sounds u like best. You may like my GEAR GUIDE course - its over six hours of video lessons on all kinds of guitar effects and effect parameters, signal chain, which pedals go where in the chain, effects loops, setting up a whole rig and much more.
