Hey all if you are looking for information on what to expect this year from NAMM you have come to the right place. I am looking to get as much information as possible from the Yamaha SeqTrak, all the new Korg Synths (King Korg NEO, Modwave Module, OPSix Module, Watestate Module, Micro Korg, NTS-3, NTS-1 MkII), all the new synths from Sonicware (Mega Synthesis, Lofi 12 XL, ELZ-1 Play), all the way up to the Yamaha Montage M. I will be getting as much info as I can and getting it out to you all.

Many people got started on Casios. I started on a Yamaha PSR too.

I believe my first full-size keyboard was a Casio… From 1989 I think… My mom still has it and plays it to this day. The demo song was “just the way you are” by Billy Joel- I believe. Haha funny how things stick in your mind.

I see Novation are going to Namm so I hope they have something new to offer. Are Nektar going this year? I like the SeqTrak but not sure on small clicky squares for playing any keys or finger drumming.. click click clickety click. Why not more softer/no click pads like x-touch mini perhaps but I do want to see how this links up your devices like Circuit or any Aira Roland devices, can I add a keyboard, plus, does it work in Reason Studios? You may have to hold/grip the device down as using the side buttons or just heavy hands may shuffle the device about! The Visualizer is a great idea, too.. Actually, I may go for this but will see what Namm has to offer. Thanks for the upload

Hey Benson! Great to hear from you. As far as I can tell, yes, you can use a keyboard with it because it does have midi in and out through a 8th inch TRS cable. The clicky pads yeah I get that but a lot of devices are starting to do that for some reason I don’t know why I don’t think it saves them any money really… But maybe they hold up better in the long run I don’t know I’ve always felt like those silicon buttons wore out pretty quick compared to rgular buttons, but I could be wrong.I am really excited that Novation is going to NAMM - I have a thought that they may introduce a new Circuit {SOMETHING} or maybe an upgraded CT Pro or CR Pro... These devices have done really well for them - but both devices could really use "MORE" and could be upgraded with a processor / ram without changing the outside - internal updates like maybe give the Rhythm the ability to play 4 notes per sound polyphonically, the tracks could have a couple more synth tracks, a couple more external devices, and 4 more sample tracks... Pluse would really be nice if you could sample on it... Maybe 4 "drum sample" tracks, which it has now and 4 polyphonic instrument tracks... Kind of wishful - but I guess we'll know soon!!

@@Cap10NRGMusic That would be great if Novation gave Circuit an update or perhaps a new edition + screen with all you mention above. A future comparison but how do you think SeqTrak compares to Circuit with sync up, sounds, sequencer steps. I see it has 128 steps, half the resolution n' we got 256. Also, Yamaha's website state : Sampling Frequency = 44.1 kHz (quantization bit depth: 24-bit) yet on MusicMatter UK Dealer website they spec it at : USB MIDI and Audio Interface (Stereo, 44.1 kHz, 16 Bit). So sampling bit depth is better than in/out audio? Am I reading that correct? Catch you on Thursday perhaps if you're going Live for a moment Easy

Do you know about what comes next after the Yamaha PSR SX900 and the Korg PA 1000. Both brands have not been remodeled in more than 5 years. Both keyboards would usually get a remodel every 3 or so years. Thank you.

Hmmm - that's a good question! I will take a look, not sure if NAMM will have these devices or not - but I will be absolutely checking out what Yamaha has as much as possible.
