It is important to remember that Arc on Windows is in its early stages. It was Mac exclusive and features that are currently exclusive to the Mac versions (i.e. Arc Max, Boosts, Profiles, Easels, Gradient themes and etc) are not currently on Windows. I did install the Windows version and I'd get it if someone who's totally new to Arc would not really be impressed with the Windows version. Not downplaying the team's effort, just giving my 2c on the current state on Arc on Windows and what new users should expect :)
Yeah, looking at the Mac version vs Windows there's a lot of core features missing. This is still a beat, and (I assume, from what I've heard) they're going for feature parity.
@@ShimizuIzumi I saw your comment below. I didn't opt for their beta as I chose the stable option. I'm using Edge as well. And aside from the weird pinned tabs, it's working really well.
for me its opening only 1st time after installing its working after i close it ,its not opening even after restarting pc ,it is opening only once after a new install anyone please help me pleaseee
As a former Edge, Firefox, Chrome and currently Brave user I tried Arc and I can easily say that Arc doesn't have any better features than them and even (speaking for the win version) doesn't have most of the features (that I use daily) they has. It's complicated to use and has no superiority to other browsers.
I got on the wait list and the sent me the installer. When i try to create an Account the Browser just closes and nothing happens. When i reopen it and try to login, it wont find the Account.
there some stuff that i dont dislike like i have a tab open and it keeps breaking when it comes to notifications like discord on the browser for example if im at the default url then it'll send any new notifications but if i go into a chat server etc then it wont update and so you miss out on stuff and also it feels like tabs dont save the cookies or preferences when you close the browser like you go into theatre mode on youtube and close the browser it goes back to default but i do like other stuff like peek etc
Got Mac version for a couple of months. Installed beta version for Win, couple of days ago. First con for me is that you cannot log in with the same account you got on Mac, for some reason. Need to create a new, separate account. Second con is ram mem usage, which is very high at the mo. Hopefully optimizations will fix it. At the end of the day, its working great, although its beta. It will be great browser once its finished 💯😄
I am trying this browser right now. I've been using Vivaldi for years, and this doesn't even compare. I ended up setting up a shortcut to align all tabs to the left side and another one to switch between the workspaces because that's something you actually can do in Vivaldi. I might try to find a better theme for Vivaldi because I'm tired of the current one. Other than that, Arc seems like nothing special so far.
@@ShimizuIzumi it even has less basic feature and one of my most important extensions doesn't work on it (internet download manger integration module). Plus you can't add bookmarks or favourites. Even the settings section is a mess
quite frankly, nobody cares about the engine. they all achieve the same goal behind the scenes. arc provides very different ideas of how a browser should work, from a user perspective - so how the user interacts with it. it’s very different from another chrome clone like opera or edge
