Get back with ex after a year. Is it possible? Yes, it is. It is possible to get back with ex after a year as our very own Coach Adrian can attest to. It is possible to get back with ex after a year, or even years, after a breakup, separation, or divorce.
To get back with ex after a year, you need to overcome a lot of hurdles. The key is timing, how you go about entering your significant other's life again, and what you have to offer, how you have evolved, how you have changed, since the breakup.
When you try to get back with an ex a year or years later, it's very important that you had build somewhat of a passionate connection with this person. If you only dated for a very short relationship, and they have been in multiple relationships or one long term relationship after you, it's more complicated.
But if you had a very deep, passionate connection, even five, six, seven years later, it is still possible to tap into that intimacy, and to recreate and nurture that bond that once existed, as long as you have something to offer and have evolved.
If you are still putting this person on a pedestal years later, the odds are that you're not going to be able to win them back. If you cannot be confident, if you don't have a true sense of happiness and well-being, when you establish contact with your ex, the odds are that it will not work.
You need to make sure that you are truly in a good place, and not pretending, or putting on a show.

Honestly, now I don’t want my ex back. I saw plenty of men here in the comment section who are ready to go through anything to be with their women. And they are getting turned down. My ex is just a lazy, narcissistic piece of shit comparing to them. I deserve better and all of dumped guys over here deserve better, too.

Thank you for doing a video like this! Most others are about fresh breakups. Mine is in the 2nd year mark yet there was a lot of contact then NC for 3 months and now trying to get that meetup again. My confidence is better and I may be the person she fell in love with. The problem is, I don’t think she’s matured at all during this time as I still sense she’s playing games 🙄 I will not let it shake my anxiety though ! 4 deep years together but she has a real tough time letting go of resentment.

Hey coach, this is a great, reassuring video! It's been half a year since the break-up and with the recent holidays i kinda noticed that it's just too soon to reach out she told me she didn't want any more contact in the past, blocked me off from her live and reaching out months later she still just seems mostly annoyed by the prospect of being in contact again after me sending her some stuff she was intended to get back when we were together. (i mean, i'm not blocked on whatsapp anymore, might be good, doesn't really say much though.) i feel like with this reaction, it's best to just do my thing for some time now, build up something i can be proud off, do big things i want to do! And reach out then if i still would want to get in touch again - would you agree there? For this "plan" i would still love to know "the right way to reach out" you kinda touch on this here, but i would love to get a separate video, or maybe even just a short reply here on how to know what the right way to reach out after so long and so much stuff happening in both our lives is. If i can make even more suggestions: i would love to know more about your story! I feel like practical, in depth examples of people going through this and succeeding are the best way to see how all of this can come together if you stay calm. So if there's a video or blogpost or something about it you're comfortable with sharing, that would be great as well.

Hey Mariantis, I was in contact with my wife while we were apart, but sparingly. It wasn't constant. The difference between my situation and yours is that my wife and I loved each other, but were both detached from the idea and need of being with each other. Feel a little better after listening to you here....we both got together when we were each dealing with personal stressful events....started very intense after 9mos I realized that I needed a break...my guess is that triggered fear of abandonment as his wife left and never came back having given him no warning she wasn't coming back... in my case was dealing with a very ill adult son.... looking back situation was crazy and confusing yet we did have some great laughs together... just been working on myself...son has improved but not sure if his situation is getting better..last I heard his ex is trying to have him deported.... In hindsight we really pushed each away.. timing was terrible

I just went through this with my ex. He dumped me out of the blue over a year ago after almost 2 years together. He completely ghosted me for 2 days then said this isn't gonna work, drop my things off at my house. I thought we had a good relationship except he had a temper and would either lash out on me or ignore me when he was upset. When he asked for a second chance after a year had gone by, I said I would consider it if he got into individual counseling and worked on his temper and communication skills. He refused to work on himself, so I decided giving him a second chance was not a good idea. Now we don't talk. It is what it is...

Well, we had our first phone conversation in almost a year. It didn't last long but we caught up, talked about my travel plans (she loves traveling). I think she is still in a relationship, but in the last month we have progressed from Instagram likes and comments, texts, and now a phone call. She seems really interested in me and the changes I have made in the last year. I keep feeling how and cold because I want her now, but I have to remember 1. she is still seeing someone 2. if it does work out with us, it needs to take time and build up. It has been 3 months since the break up, and I reached out to her through texts. I might not send the best text message, but there is not feedback. I feel disappointed and betrayed for she claimed we could be friends and interact normally. But she ended up ignoring me. My ex and I met up a few days ago. It felt so great and we ended up passionately kissing but we didn’t sleep together. Saying goodbye was almost like a movie. Again, very passionate. Said our goodbyes and I went home. He messaged the next day and the conversation was short but I mentioned it was on nice seeing him again. Guys I must share my little success: I watch your videos from the 1 of my break up. My ex is a person who holds his emotions and then explodes. That's why our mostly calm, passionate and loving one year relationship ended. I applied the no contact for 2 months. He was cold, distant, resentful, stubborn. . We meet a couple times during meetings. It really affected me. He said a definitive no getting back together ever. During NC and after I've been working on myself and been hearing how I glow and how I am more stable, more radiant and beautiful. We had no, zero, nada contact at all except of eye contact exchanging. But a few weeks ago something about him changed and I felt how he's not cold, he smiles at me. And this week we had our first f2d contact : I gave him some Christmas vanilla sweets I know he adores like crazy with ,,Hey, my grandma gave me these vanilla sweets I know you like, I thaught you might like them." His eyes were sparkling and I saw the look he was giving me in a relationship when he thaught I was cute. He did not wish me any New Year's wishes. I was like ,,OK, man, the ball is on your court right now. Do the move or f$ck you." Yesterday he sent me a messagge out of the blue ,,Thanks again for those sweets :)". I was shook! I cried out of joy for I could not believe it would happen.... and of course I answered after two hours, for I have my life ;) .. I know it's a small step but it's a huge step in this process. We've been broken up for three months now. Dear coaches, do you consider it a sign ? Hey coach. Here's my sanrio I'm about to join in the Air Force in a couple months and my wife moved out. I was irresponsible and procrastinate while we were together. Over all I just didnt treat her like I should have and she has lost trust. She did say she was not sending papers and gave me 6 months to a year to get my life in order along with showing her I'm taking her and loving her seriously. Of course now I cant help but do things to try to keep her around with the hope that it will give her something to think about while I'm at basic training, but I realized I'm doing more harm than good and nothing seems genuine to her. I started to go radio silent to give her the opportunity to reach out her self and respect her request for space. But I am scared that once I have to go to training and be in another state I could loose her for good. Hi! After a six years relationship (2 of them on distance) last month I broke up with my ex, because of the distance. I did no contact for about three days and then she contacted me about how I was doing. I kept it short and said I was good and asked her about how she was doing. We met together on New Years for dinner and she says she still wants to keep in contact. Should I restart no contact?

Hey Colson, you shouldn't restart no contact and instead let her witness your change and growth while you two are in contact. You need a platform of communication in order to get your ex back and you already have that by being in contact with her - Coach Steven

The question is should I get him back after he cheated multuple.times and finally chose that.girl. i still.love him.. he still tries to communicate with me. coach Adrian I ve begged and plead but its pushed him further away. Four years ago, my life was a disaster till I met my ex, and we both fell madly in love with each other, and we spent a lot of time together, and we were together for almost 2 years And my ex help me change my whole life around I got sober. I start taking care of myself. I got a job I got a car. I ended up getting a job at six figure salary, and I thought my ex was going to be with me forever then he went to college and things changed, and we were all part, we started fighting and eventually he broke up with me. That was a year ago. I only talk to him every two or three times afterwards, but he put up a wall. I would do anything to get my ex back, especially now I found out that the sickness I had when I was a kid came back, and I probably might need surgery, I would love just to talk to him

Me and my ex have dated since June 2019. We came from different issues in our life. We broke up in August because she wasn’t ready. Got back together in October broke up in January because we still couldn’t mesh our lives together. We tried being friendly and making it work in May 2020 through August. We had a bad argument. Hi coaches and everyone, pretty unrelated and I know no contact is cool and dandy but what if when she actually wants me to meet her and apologize.. She have blocked me everywhere and haven't talked for like 2 months now but her mom (who is close to me too) says that she wants me to apologize for all the shit I have done to her... And yes I've been immature which led to her blocking me... The signs were there... What should I do coaches ... This is hard because she shifted to a different city.. Hi coach...me and my ex were in a relationship of 4 years...She went to study abroad and fell for another guy who she says is an upgraded copy paste of me ....we hav been broken for 3 months....But she came back for her holidays and wanted to meet me.....We meet twice and had a good time....She also said that the moment she came to our hometown she can’t get me out of her mind....but she is still in relationship with that guy and she will be away from me for almost 8 more months....she was a bit surprised by the changes I made in myself....Pleasantly...she also asked me to stay in touch with her and came on my workplace out of nowhere before going back.....wat should I do

Could the letter be a good approach here or is that too intense so long after the break-up (I think .there is no other way of getting in touch though)? Also, she is seeing someone new and I don't think she is emotionally available but we only broke up because I behaved badly multiple times, not because of missing love at the time. Unfortunately, I won't know when the timing is right... Anything I have to keep in mind in particular in the letter after that much time has passed in comparison with the handwritten letter when not that much time has passed?

Hello, my ex broke up three months ago. We were together for 1,5 years. In a week I leave the country for a year. Today he texted me that he has a new girlfriend. She was once a good friend of mine. They know each other for nearly a year and became very best friends half a year ago. I don’t know when my ex started to have feelings for her, if we were still together or not but I think that his new relationship is a rebound. So now my question: when I come back next year from my year abroad, do I still have a chance of getting back together with him? I would fight for a relationship right now but he got his new girlfriend right after the no contact period and right now there is nothing I can do about their relationship.
