Get Christie Love (1974) - Full Length Blaxploitation Movie with Teresa Graves 

Had the pleasure of going to George Washington Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, with the late, beautiful and talented Teresa Graves; we graduated in 1966. She was such a nice, quiet, confident, talented young lady. I remember walking from my home one morning to catch the bus to get to school. This long, silver gray Cadillac pulls up beside me....and it's Teresa. We rode to school (in style) laughing and talking. There engraved on the dashboard.....was her name. She didn't put on any airs, was very unassuming and just down to earth. When this show came out, I was so excited and proud of her. Glad we have this made for TV movie to remember her by.

One of my favorite movies and actresses. Ms. Graves and Ms. Houston could pass for twins. Two beautiful black women gone way too soon.

Hands down the most beautiful of any era and so talented, I wish I went to high school with her😀

It was said that Whitney Houston’s father had a romantic relationship with Ms. Graves back in the day and she got pregnant and allegedly had a child by him that was kept quiet due to her acting career. In short, it’s alleged that Whitney Houston was her daughter and John had Cissy Houston to become her adopted mother at birth. I personally believe this because Whitney never looked anything like Cissy and was the spitting image of the beautiful Ms. Graves. Whitney had the same wit, beautiful speaking voice, tone, sophistication and mannerisms like Ms. Graves!

I loved this show when I was little.

Teresa Graves was actually one of the first African American women to star in a her own television  show Diahann Carroll, being the very first of course she was also apart of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In comedy stretch show and yes it was once reported that whitney was going to star in a movie version of Christie Love ..

Hi. They actually did have a series. It lasted one season. It was produced by Universal Studios which produced a majority of primetime programming in the 70s. The reason the series didnt work out was because she asked the producers to tone down the violence and sex appeal of her character, due to her being a Jehovah's Witness. There was an episode that featured all for mer Laugh-In co-stars, however that did not help the ratings any. After the cancellation Teresa Graves left show business.

She gave this up for religion. I wish she were still alive today. I think she would have gotten a big kick out of this resurgence and the marathon of the tv show on Centric this past year. She died as the Internet was starting to take off. She was able to live in obscurity till then. I would like to have seen her and hear what she had to say about her life.

I was born today in 1987.... and all I can remember was loving every Blackexploitation movies... I can say I grow up watching these great beautiful black women and men action movies. These women made me love me... and I always wanted to be that kick ass sexy black woman... bring back great memories , watching this movie.

I enjoyed this blast from the past. Now those were the days!

I just saw this movie late saturday night loved Teresa Graves in this movie she was just like another Pam Grier I also loved and my favorite shoes she wore in this movie were the black slip ons with the fat white rubber soles does anyone happen to maybe know what those shoes were called and if you can find or get those slip ons she wore i know that was 70s and its now 2016 if anyone knows could they comment back to me i love those kinds of shoes that slip on I have pairs of them just don't have ones of the 70s I also loved the red pants she wore with them i know she passed in 2002 Teresa R I P

They were going to commit to a series after this pilot movie was a hit, but Theresa Graves got cold feet & decided she was too Christian to do the series. Her choice, of course, but she could have a nice little career. Should have done that, & then move on to something more of a family/Christian nature.
