If I see one more comment about how they don't use a British accent I'm going to go insane. Only the British Queens preform with British accent because that's their natural voice. Don't like the other Queens using their natural voices, don't watch them ffs
I'd rather have the North American/Broadway cast do their natural accents than use a different accent that can end up sounding so fake. Also, you can bet that the people complaining about the lack of British accents would be the same people who would complain if this cast ended up using British accents.
i know people love this song.... i personally think this is BY FAAAR the weakest SIX song... but she is doing it in such an AMAZING way... what an awesome performer ... #phenomenal
Bobbi Harding I know but the original music was written and sung in British accents. I love her vocals and enthusiasm but that part just got to me. Probably cause I’ve been obsessing over the original six uk cast for a Long time now LOL. I didn’t mean for my comment to be mean.
@@keerthana7353 I love the original cast as well, but I also don't complain when the other casts should different. I've never understood the reason people think the American Queens should use a British accent... Like yes I get this is a British musical but I've never once seen a comment on the Australian Queens singing the songs saying they should use a British accent..... It's like people don't understand that the creators don't want fake British accents and want each cast to be unique. It just baffles me and when I see comments that say "that's not how you say" or "the original was better" or "they should've used British accents" I get a bit defensive because each woman brings their own unique personality to the Queen they play and each woman does an amazing job, it's ok to have favorites or to prefer the original Queens, I myself love Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, but when it becomes not ok is when people make nasty remarks on the other casts, as if they're lesser (not saying you're doing that... I've just seen so many comments like that... My knee jerk reaction is to defend)
The writers on the show wanted the singers to perform in their natural accents. The Australian casts sings in the Australian accent, Bliss cast sings in the Norwegian accent, so the US cast should sing in their accent. They don’t have to be directly alike to make it good. Personally I love the American cast much more than the original.
Amazing performance! But I think she needs to work on stifling her American accent- she doesn’t need to have a British accent but the pronunciation of ‘Castle’ and ‘Rascal’ should’ve been the same as the song- it’s hard changing your own accents guys but it’s not hard For example: Changing ‘Ta’ to ‘To’ It’s a hard thing to catch because you usually say the word really fast- “I’m going ta the store” Vs. “I’m going to the store” They sound fine offstage but onstage it sounds off Especially if the performance is an originally British performance I still think this actress did good and had a lot of energy!
All of them do it with American accents. I don't know why, but that's just how they decided to do the show. I think it's kind of strange too, but it is a choice.
Are y'all slow? Its not supposed to be a certain accent. The UK queens used their native accents, just like the broadway queens. If accuracy were the issue, then Cleves would have done a German accent in the original, but she didn't, because she stuck with her irl accent. So let this Cleves work her magic. She slays either way.
Kylie personally it just threw me off because I’m used to hearing it a certain way. No issue with how they sing because they’re great. Having an opinion or just being used to a certain way doesn’t make people slow.
