it's always the lag

I just played this for my first time and it was a fun relaxing game. Didn't use boosts a lot, nor did I hunt for small prey. I simply took my time collecting points scattered around the map while avoiding "hunters" who tried to kill me. Eventually I got to rank 3 and another big snake dueled me. The duelist ended up dead, because I lured him to the edge of the map and he didn't evade the dead line in time. My downfall was due to the speed boost, when I stopped paying attention for a little while, I panicked and accidentally hit the boost and crashed straight into an average sized snake. But that's okay. I'm amazed I made it that far. Simply put; I treated the game as a simple survival game. Nothing else, I didn't try to kill anyone, but some died inevitably because they crashed into me for some reason. I highly suggest that you give this game a try, it doesn't have any gaming music, so bring your own music and enjoy! :) PS. The server I played, was occupied by over 400 players. Initially the top rank had 154k points, whereas the 2nd rank only scored 24k. So expect to see some REALLY big snakes out there!

My next slither.io name will be "LAG!"

there was actually lots of lag. mainly because it is a newer online multiplayer. there are a few bugs in the game still, and you could see the lag multiple times
