I've been using bobby without nvidium for a while (I have an AMD card) and it worked pretty well (around 300-500fps) with 32 chunks render distance. I didn't actually know there was a way to use Distant Horizens with Iris Shaders, so really cool vid, I can now play with 500 LOD render distance!
congrats on 47k! the 50k is approaching very, very fast! the idea of showing blocks that aren't generated yet is genius! It still looks a bit weird, though (leaf slab?!) the temperature of the pc was probably insane.. I guess I need to move out to another wall for now D: nice day mate ^^
you never mention that you have to pre-generate the chunks by initially walking/flying through them to have them generate upon joining a world with distant horizons in order to see the entire world around you or joining a new world and just being able to see off into the distant without ever having to visit those chunks, ive been looking for a solution myself including a mod called chunky which pre-generates chunks through commands but DH doesn't recognize those chunks as visible even after being pre-generated, meaning you have to walk/fly through the chunks regardless, was wondering if you had any solutions to this or if you pre-flew around loading the chunks in your world before recording to make it look nice for the video
no distant horizons has a distant generation feature just turn it on disable LOD crank up the distance to 700 and wait 4 hours and done you just need to afk dude
Im playing distant horizon with my RPG mod list of 136 mods and i gotta say it is worth the drop in FPS. I usually get 120 - 260 FPS with complementary shaders even with my mod list. But now im at a 20 - 56 FPS. Its worth it and im actually suprise how smooth my game is running.
@DamanD Yeah. By smooth I wasn't having any stutters and my game didn't lag at all. When I play minecraft normally without shaders it sits at 600 - 700 FPS. If I play with shaders it's 120 - 200. Distance horizon shaders it's 20-50. I only face stutters when it drops to 4 - 10 and that's oddly due to the simply swords and the weapons from souls weaponry mods when I use REI.
if you don’t see the icon in the options menu then you don’t have it in the mod folder or it’s not running due to an incompatibility, the launcher tells you this.
@@antoniobaak146 How did you get it to work? I can't get Distant Horizons AND Iris & Sodium for Fabric in the game at the same time, it's either one or the other for Minecraft 1.21 (Distant Horizons doesn't have a version for 1.21.1).
I also have this question: "you never mention that you have to pre-generate the chunks by initially walking/flying through them to have them generate upon joining a world with distant horizons in order to see the entire world around you or joining a new world and just being able to see off into the distant without ever having to visit those chunks, ive been looking for a solution myself including a mod called chunky which pre-generates chunks through commands but DH doesn't recognize those chunks as visible even after being pre-generated, meaning you have to walk/fly through the chunks regardless, was wondering if you had any solutions to this or if you pre-flew around loading the chunks in your world before recording to make it look nice for the video." And didnt quite understand the answer given in the comments :(
Turn off distant horizons in the settings and use chunky, type /chunky center, /chunky radius 600 600 and /chunky start. Wait for it to finish, then rejoin with DH on. Hope that works!
Yoo I do not understand why having a i5 14600kf cpu and 4070 ti super gpu I need to stay at a minimal impact on cpu's usage on horizons. What cpu do u use?
@@KasaiSora Iris wont change my old shaders that i downloaded a while ago to distant horizons no matter how many times i redownload iris, can you please help?
@CaptainQwazCaz I used DH after I had rendered over 90 chunks around my base, and I would still only get max 70 fps when on nvidum and bobby I get over 400. Keep in mind I was still using bobby and nvidium with DH as that's the ideal setup from what I've heard
@@Micalex idk about bobby and nvidium. Don’t these three conflict too since they all have their own LOD system right? Also should generate like 200 chunks not 90 if your DH render distance is 90 since if you move around there will be un generated chunks
@CaptainQwazCaz well apparently bobby and nvidium are advertised as a combo mod from what I've seen. Nvidium on its own is insane as I can see over 64 render distance. What would uou suggest? Just Distant Horizon?
Im trying to use this mod and i use GTX 1650 gddr 6, i3 12100f and 2x8gb 3200mhz, and it works perfectly fine but somehow my cpu is 96°c at max and my GPU still at 76°
Hey man I love your vids they really helped alot. I have been wondering if you know any backpack plugins for 1.20.4 that creates a physical backpack? Not a command backpack
I have no idea what Im doing wrong. Im getting weird graphical glitches and I cant change render distance above 32 chunks. I havent installed any other mods than the ones listed below the video, followed steps precisely. Ive tried deleting the DH config file, Ive tried using more updated versions of the mods, Ive tried messing around with the DH settings. nothing is working for me
ok so I don’t know if your still trying but cracked the code, you need to install chunky the run these commands: /chunky center, /chunky radius 650 650, then type /chunky start. Wait for it to finish and when it’s done rejoin the world with distant horizons on, (forgot to mention you need to turn DH off before doing chunky.) if there’s an error saying ‘value = null’ relaunch the game.
i dont know why but the iris document gets open on firefox and not on the document that it should and i also installed java, can someone please help me ?
Maybe someone has some insight/help here? When I run DH, it overloads my CPU, making it heat up to 95C(which is the max temp for my CPU) I didn’t dabble long with the settings, as to not ruin my CPU. However, I tried lowering all of the DH settings and it still overheated my CPU. Current specs(I really shouldn’t have any issues running this): Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX Ryzen 9 7900X + phantom spirit 120 SE fan MSI MAG X650E Tomahawk 32GB RAM If anyone else has experienced this and found a fix, I’d love to use DH and would greatly appreciate help.
I don’t think it’s DH my cpu runs fine and I have my render distance set to 1000, you have to download a mod called chunky and pregenerate all the chunks first and set distant generation to true in the DH settings. Your CPU issue seems more like the lack of thermal paste or your CPU fan is not working. Try checking on that
i have a question, i have a mid pc(like a I7 with 16GB ram and GTX 1060) a,d it is getting DESTROYED by the mod, i mean, in low config, at 128 LOD render distance, and without any shader, i can barely reach 10fps, is that normal ? is it just not optimized at all ?
bruh, you need a beefy pc just for shaders. plus DH only supports Bliss Shaders which are pretty heavy. your pc unfortunately isn't powerful enough what gen is your i7 btw?
@@katame_no_shi quite old one, cannot remember, but yeah it’s really unfortunate, after a few years i thought that distant horizon should have done a bit of optimisation bit it is not 🥲 while hundreds of game are running LOD on mobile
Can some someone please tell me if this is available for Bedrock edition. I have a powerful pc I just can seem to find a link for distant horizon for bed rock
