Natalie - you should definitely get your mom to write out her recipe for your book. I lost my mom unexpectedly this summer (she was only 57) and am so happy to have our Christmas cookie recipe in her handwriting. My wonderful maid of honor put it in a family recipe book for me as a wedding gift with some pictures of baking from my childhood. It is so precious to me and a special memory of my dear momma
Completely agree! I've been having my grandma write down my favorite recipes of hers and saving them in a safe spot. I really wish someone had done this with my other grandmother's recipes because they were so individual to her and now they're gone forever.
Me too! I lost my mom 6 years ago this month on the 22nd. Please have your mom do that. You never think about stuff like that til they are gone. Ask all the questions you want to ask, love her with your all...and most importantly tell her everyday you love her! I can say I did all that, but I had my first baby 3 months before she passed....so I have many childhood questions I can't ask her now, especially when my daughter ask me what I did at her age....but I tell her I probably did exactly what your doing now lol! Sorry for the rant.... Just love your momma's 😘
yes I and 63 and I have my mum's old handwritten cookbook and I love reading it, and I gave some of the loose pages to our daughters so they would remember their Nan
My mom recorded the night before Christmas I guess Hallmark had it a few years ago and she had bought some books but she actually got around to recording it and giving it to her kids / grandchildren this year. It is such a sweet thing.

That’s a great idea to have your mom hand write the recipe. My mom passed away a few years ago and last Christmas for a gift, my daughter had a small plate made with a recipe for pierogies that we used to make with my mom. It was a recipe that was written in her handwriting. What a special gift.

Love your idea of getting your mam to write the recipe for you. I recently lost my mother-in-law and found a recipe for sticky toffee pudding in her hand writing. It is so precious to me now, you don't realise how much these little things help the heart when you need it most. ❤️
Our favorite wedding gift was a recipe book that my god mother put together. She had family members and close friends fill out the recipe cards so we have them all in their own hand writing.
This is what I am currently doing for my kids. I have a binder I add our favorite recipes and family recipes to so that I can give them as a gift when they graduate and move out.Which is a while because they are 8 and 12 but I love the idea so much. I know it's something they will cherish.
One summer in high school, I made a delicious breakfast dish with one of my aunts when my family was on vacation at her beach house in Michigan. My family loved it so much that my aunt suggested I copy out the recipe on paper so that we could bring it home to Virginia. About 12 years later, my Mom still has that exact copy of the recipe on that paper in my cursive handwriting (which hasn’t changed a bit!) in her recipe book- I love that she’s kept it exactly how I wrote it ❤️

Hello, I am new to your channel and have really been enjoying your messy to minimal series. Here I am a Nana and learning something new. I have taken after my mom and if one is good more I'd better. Probably a result of her growing up during the depression. Sooooo, I am declutter ing per your videos! Hooray! This weekend my daughter came by to see if I was getting rid of any home deco. She is setting up a model apartment in the complex she works at. She is the manager. I gave her a whole Bunch of stuff I am no longer using and that was taking up space in my home. I told her I still like the items but just am not using them and do not need them. Made me feel great to know they were going to be used for good.

I'm a stay at home mom of 3 like you and I've started a decluttering journey, it's going slow, but I've at least started recording content, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I haven't gone through all your videos, but I was hoping maybe one day you would address how a beginner could start and some tips, tricks, and advice and maybe how you felt as you posted videos continually. Thanks for what you do, I'm very quickly realizing how much extra work this is for you!

You are the best mom! You're so sweet, nurturing, and loving! Your bathroom looks amazing. I love having clear kitchen and bathroom countertops -- they're uncluttered, as well as so much easier to clean! I think your vanity looks fine, plus it's in excellent condition. To further maximize storage in your bathroom (or another room, if needed), I use Rubbermaid plastic/rubber-coated wire racks, which screw on the inside of the cabinet doors. They hold a lot, are much more accessible, and you don't have the bars hanging over the doors. Also, you could install a medicine cabinet. And between-the-stud storage cabinet behind the bathroom door would give you a ton if storage -- if you ever need more here, or in another area of the house. I just love your family and videos!!

I love that you mentioned not NEEDING to replace outdated fixtures that still work... Sometimes people put so much pressure to get the newest thing because their current stuff doesn't line up with trends. Subtle decore makes the space work!

All I had were feta crumbles and regular tomatoes at home. I chopped my tomatoes into cubes and used the feta crumbles it came out delicious! I tried it again with the block and cherry tomatoes there was no difference in taste! Use what you have ❤️

Natalie- you've done such a nice job in the bathroom. Very streamlined and simplified. Have you thought of painting your vanity cabinet white? It would match your medicine cabinet. Also, painting the mirror frame black would help tie it to your hardware. Just a thought. And, you and your family -
Those are good ideas and easily done, and if I was Natalie, I'd go ahead and swap out the faucet for the one she will want to have in the future. It's pretty easy to change out faucets, and the black matt would match all her other metal.

Two of my favorite RU-vidrs collabing together!! I love the idea of having your Mom write the recipe in your book!! I have a recipe that my Dad wrote out and I have a 3 ring binder that I put it in, I keep recipes in plastic sleeves which makes for easy clean up if anything splashes on the recipe. Also, I have the same bathroom faucet (1996) and simalar maple cabinets. I have since painted the cabinets fusion mineral coal and added goldish modern hardware. Love it so much more. The original countertop is white which is timeless and kept it.

I really like Kim from the Wads, I discovered her recently and she is so funny. I am enjoying American creators recently to get some escapism from life in lockdown in the UK. I’m here from Kim’s channel! She’s a hoot!!! You need to invest in a cordless vacuum for the crumb issue...game changer for the small vacuuming jobs that you don’t need to drag out your big vac for! Amazon...all price points!
You could use appliance spray paint on the counter & sink (The Minimal Mom has a video awhile ago doing this to her sister's bathroom sink and it's held up), then use cabinet paint on the vanity wood and replace the faucet with something matte black. It would be a cheaper way to update and still look fantastic!
