No matter the Apple related subject, Dylan has the talent of teaching the content in a relaxed and highly skilled manner. My current focus on the Photos app is so well served. Thanks Dylan.

Hello Dylan! your videos are great and they deserve a lot more views, millions I hope. Getting your photos organized is a lot of work and you have to have good working routines keeping the pictures organized if you don’t do sorting and organizing on a regular basis. It’s a little difficult to remember every tip. I have a suggestion for a future video on organizing the Photos. My hard disk is getting close to fill up. I have been thinking of putting favorites mark on all the pictures that I like and in that way, sort them and delete all the other pictures with no favorite markings on. This is a lot of work and I wondered if you could make an episode on how to do this or if you have another or similar quick way to delete (or put on an external disk) not wanted pictures to save space on your hard disk. I think this could be a very easy routine that everybody will understand at once and will be very easy to use. I have seen a lot of videos on the topic of organizing photos, but no one has had the thought of this easymethod of mine. I think this method is very easy for most users. From my experience, very few people organize the photos, so it is important to keep the organization even more simple than you describes. Don’t understand me wrong, your method of organizing is very well, but I think new users could want it even simpler as a start. Thanks for your support.

Thanks for the appreciation and for watching!!! I hear you about Photos, but the bigger question I have is, are you using Photos in the Cloud (and leaving optimized Mac Storage on?) Depending on the size of your photo library, your suggestion could work or be a massively complicated project. I have 65,000 pics, so marking them as flagged and deleting the non-flagged ones would take me forever. The other issue is when people archive photos onto other drives they usually lose those photos in the long run, so I recommend keeping things in your photos library unless you KNOW you don't want them… in which case deleting them completely is an easier way to manage them. That being said, there are several ways (using keywords, captions, and smart albums) to automatically sort and organize your pictures, which could allow you to export a large number of them without too much hassle. However, I recommend loading them to the cloud instead of a drive (which can get lost, corrupted, or die, and your pictures will be gone with it). I'll think about making a video to help you out... but there are tons of better ways to clear out massive amounts of wasted space on your computer that don't involve removing pictures of your treasured memories. Have you checked out this video about clearing out hard drive space: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GgKGeKHnGAU.html With a few simple searches and tools, like Grand Perspective, I can usually remove over 100GB from anyone's computer. For reference, my 65k Photo Library only takes up 50GB on my hard drive because of iCloud... so maybe you can save space and keep your photos where they should be.

Hello , i am new to your channel and subscribed. You have great freeform videos. Very helpful. Have few questions. Question-1) How do you organize all the freeform files (i mean boards) in the "All boards" . There is no folder option to create to categorize and keep inside . It becomes too messy i have so many boards in "All boards". Question-2) How do you search hand written text inside a board ? . The find option only works for typed text and not handwritten text. I feel this is a downside when we have so many study notes. Please share your thoughts on this as i am new to freefrom. No idea if there are options available for this. Thanks !

Hi, thanks for watching. In the future, please put questions in the relevant video so they can help other viewers as well. But I will reply to these two questions (associated to this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9RYGN0xiCzQ.html) here. 1) At the moment there is no way to organize the boards. It is a new program, so I encourage people to only favorite the boards they are using on a regular basis, and sit tight. Apple will likely add new functions to the organizational capability within the next year (God willing) 2) Again, the search tools have been given new functionality in the iPadOS 17 update from this week, but I doubt the search for handwriting will be as robust and you may need. If I was needing a way to take class notes I wouldn't be using Freeform... if you have an iPad Notability is a way better solution for that problem. I find Freeform to be a better solution for basic organization and planning... and less of a solid solution for large volumes of notes and handwriting. Checkout Notability for the other functions. It still sync with all Apple products, and works amazing on the iPad. I wouldn't be caught dead without it when I am doing any handwritten note taking.
