I'm loving this update and expansion. Once I get everything settled, I'm going to create a welcome station for multiplayer. Food and resources all available in one area for anyone who wants it.
Just a tip, I don't know if you're aware of this or not yet, but neither you, nor your guests can access boxes whilst your portal is open. You also can't pick up food items that you have decoratively placed on tables in your welcome area. This is because you can't change any decoration stuff whilst the portal is open i.e it's all on lockdown. You CAN however, just drop the food and resources from your backpack on the ground in front of your friends when they arrive, and they can pick them up then. So you'll need to have any items you want to gift to your friends already in your inventory/backpack before you open up your portal. Have fun! Happy gaming to you xXx
Thanks for the video. I hadn't explored multiplayer yet..I am actually glad there isn't insane benefits for ppl doing multiplayer as not everyone will be comfortable to do it or willing /able to pay for extra subscriptions on consoles to do it, so I feel it's important it doesn't become too overpowered. Still I wish there was more ppl could do in each other's valleys if they wanted to as long as it didn't create a huge advantage vs those not doing multiplayer
I visited a couple of valleys so far, and found none lol But that's okay, I still had a lot of fun! I wish we could keep working on quests or decorate while others are visiting, but hopefully that's still something they might consider changing in the future. Regardless though, I think it's really cool to see other people's valley, even if it's only for inspiration at this point :) I was also very pleasantly surprised with how well it runs - I'm on PS4 and have a very slow internet connection (took me ~3 hours to download the update, for reference lol), and not only was I able to visit other people AND host 3 people at once in my valley with no issues, but one of the people I visited was actually on PS5, and had a fully-decorated valley. When joining I got a pop up warning me that they have their item limit increased, but it still allowed me to join. And granted, it was a bit laggy at times, but overall it worked really well! I never got disconnected or had any major issues, so as far as I'm concerned, as a first step towards multiplayer - I think it's actually a great start. It seems like the servers are fairly stable, and the trades are working as advertised. Hopefully they'll add some other features in the future, so that there's more to do, as well as an in-game chat and/or emote function, so we can communicate with each other more easily. And maybe they could also adjust the drops on these shards a bit, cause I'd sure love to actually find some lol.
It is not good right now. All they have is the ability to pick up items, drop items, and run around. You can't use any of your tools, you can't speak to any of your villagers, you can't craft nor cook, and you can't harvest any plants. It's just bad. 😕
Hi Serroh, could you possibly do a video on the big ball that shows up, that you need the hourglass tool for. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do on that one, am I looking for something specific.... Please and thank you
You need the time changer tool, use it and then there will be a zone area expand and you have to again use the tool to find any ancient treasures and stuff within that zone. That’s all. Hope that helps. 🎉❤
You should be able to see or hear it pop up or out right away. If you are following the yellow directional pull of the time tool after exploding the ball.
Great tips always!! BUT did anyone else notice that the Christmas light poles changed color?? The bows on the wreaths are now YELLOW instead of red and I am so mad! It looks so bad now and not Christmasy at all!! You can see at 2:14 in this video what they look like now, but they definitely used to be red. Is this a bug that they plan on fixing or is this just how they look now?
I think that comes from the paid expansion… there’s a machine you can (eventually) get or build that will cook multiple. I assume it’s introduced in one of the quest lines in A Rift in Time.
@jazzystarjazz:you can still cook multiple of one meal at a time I think you just need an ancient cooker machine either the regular,basic or advanced one or all 3
@@kimc5657you are referring to the ancient machines from the time bending table the basic,regular and advanced the basic one cooks 10 of the same meal at a time and the regular one cooks 20 of the same meals at a time
@@user-xt2rb3no5b:that’s only because DDLV doesn’t give us any other way to get pixel shards if we don’t do multiplayer they made multiplayer the only way to get pixel shards rather than giving people multiple ways to get pixel shards they only gave us one way to get pixel shards and even with multiplayer you can only find like 5 pixel shards at a time it’s not like with glimmers where you can at least do multiple realms for glimmer shards/pieces at a time and end up finding glimmers a tiny bit more faster. Plus multiplayer isn’t even done yet
Hey, @Serroh (or anyone reading this), I just got home from work and havent had a chance to delve into the expansion yet. Super excited. Last year I bought just the base game for the Switch. Is it possible to upgrade from the base game to the gold edition?
My 8 year old and I just started Apple Arcade and they do have multiplayer option on there. We haven’t tried it yet not until tomorrow but I’m interested to see if I’ll be able to help her from my account (which would be great)
Hi Serroh. Quick question. I know you have a back up save, as do I, but are they both on the same platform? If they are, have you tried to access the expansion on your back up? Does it work? Or do you have to buy the expansion for each save you might have on the same platform? For example my main save and my back up are on steam but only one save was able to access the expansion and it wasn't my main! I've been trying to play all day and was unable to. About an hour ago, I switch over to my back up and boom! I'd love to know if this happened to anyone else. While I'd love to have it on both, I'd rather have it on my main if I can only have it one.
I have an Xbox, and my sister has an Xbox where my account is linked as the home Xbox. If I buy something, it's hers too. The Rift In Time expansion does not allow that.
These don’t seem worth the grind but that could be just me as I really enjoy mining and all the other things plus I don’t mind not getting any of these shards especially since I play on switch and non of my friends play ddlv
@ann-mariewhiffen9881:they kind of are worth the grind though if the only way to get pixel shards is gonna be in multiplayer by 5 pixels at a time if they aren’t gonna give us any other way to get pixel shards and if the only way to get them is in multiplayer then they are also kind of worth the grind it’s not the game or the creators fault that multiplayer isn’t finished yet the creators probably felt rushed to put multiplayer into the game since people kept asking when multiplayer would be in the game

It seems like it is, though you are severely restricted in what you can do while in multiplayer mode. You can't harvest items(fishing, farming, mining), or interact with the npcs. Basically you can go around and look at stuff and trade some items, so there isn't a lot of 'playing' while in that mode.

For me when I played multiplayer we stayed in the same biome and most (if not all) pixels spawnd there. Maybe someone else can test if it happen to them to?

@Lilitha11:technically it kind of is since the pixel shards can only be obtained by doing multiplayer. And you need to pixel shards to make the pixelized cooking flame and pixelized cooking flame can be used as decor instead of for cooking and then there’s the glitched pixelized duplicate bag thing for crafting other wise there’s no other way to get pixel shards

@Lilitha11:unless they come up with some other way for people to get pixel shards that doesn’t involve multiplayer it’s basically kind of worth it to grind the pixel shards since you can only get them in multiplayer
Time management wise they seem FAR from an efficient thing to do. FAR better to just get the items themselves you need for crafting or cooking! It always aamazes me how often people forget time in their efficiency calculations.
Yeah...they made the Multiplayer unnecessarily difficult for absolutely no reason...temporary codes that have to be entered for people you have to give them to? Pointless... Other Disney games and "kid safe" games have done it much better and easier.

Do I have to be on a specific lvl or do I have to unlock every Biom to find these shards? I just tried multiplayer for like 2h I m still and there s no single shard showing up.
