I've recently seen Motown and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite plays I have ever seen

This show is a must see I was able to be apart of the opening night April 14th My brother is apart of the musical and i was very proud of him opening night was a night to remember being able to meet and take pictures with all of the legends was the indeed the best night of my life I encourage everyone to go see this live its worth every penny

It's not a rip off. "Motown:the musical" is about the history of the best record labels to ever exist, and their very talented artists. It also tells the story of Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, the Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Smokie Robinson, and so many more.

We are happy and excited that Motown the musical has arrived. There have been too many other producers making money from this history especially the story of Diana Ross and the Supremes !

but Motown Records wasn't all just about drama it was about becoming stars plus about the great singers of those times. Also, they already have dramatic movies about The Jacksons and also The Tempations don't know about any other artists

If "Motown The Musical" is based on Berry Gordy & Diane Ross relationship it should be called "Heckle & Jeckle A Love Story" This two individuals had gone through life on a meteoric ride of self serving gratification, accumulating wealth on the merit of others, leaving behind divorce, children out of wedlock, damaged lives and careers and some beautiful music along the way that when put next to their actions mainly on Diane Ross sound hypocritical and unfounded!

In regards to Motown and what transpired within its studio and contract players it will "ALWAYS" be about justice denied when it comes to Berry & Diane trying to change and sanitize their legacy. They will be remembered historically both for their accomplishments and transgressions. Is unfortunate that the later will dictate their legacy.

The fact that Motown (Berry Gordy) that prides himself in trying to portrait this "family" and "caretaker" image for him towards Motown as the creator, CEO, Legal Contract Gate Keeper is the one that not only Florence Ballard who he made sure to clip her wings not letting her use her tenure as a SUPREME to reinvent her career but in time of need he was nowhere to be found, the same with many others, he took their best and dispose of the human being!

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see Michael Jackson. Although, we can't discount the whole of Motown.

I would love to go see this, I think if they gave me the chance to play Teenge Michael Jackson I would do my very best to hit it as hard as I could but never know... Maybe next year.

YES thewizboy, "Motown The Musical" is a CHARADE! Why are you putting this on Ms. Mary Wilson? Unfortunately most of the ones that could give a "real recount" of what transpired and it repercussions are long gone and RIP! Their descendants still alive and hopefully they will step forward and set the record straight! For sure from the ones that still alive will see who still intact on dignity and integrity so history is not torn for the benefit of the culprit of their love ones artistic demise!

LOL......Both "Dreamgirls" & "Motown The Musical" are entertainment, within the creativity to make it commercial and the fluff to either enhance the story or suppress the historical facts there are glimpses of the reality that has been brought forward by documented facts and reported on goings in the events and characters portrait! Diane Ross was marketed and shoved in our faces, No one denies her talent but her padded trajectory is a fact! She was Berry's pet & cash cow! That's no big secret!

I hope the Jackson 5 actors don't dance "over the top" like the ones in the movie. The Jackson 5 were COOL people ....not a bunch of hyper goofballs. Having said that.....the Michael kid by the way is pretty AWESOME! Too bad Pete Peterkin is not in the show ...for some "adult vocal accuracy'. (When the dust settles ....I promise you ...that aspect will be missed!)

To try to sanitize the relationship of Berry Gordy & Diane Ross into a Broadway Musical is as credible as the "The Vatican a Boys Tale" would be to audiences! Are they kidding?

Watching "Theatre Talk" they said it is a great show. But Berry doesn't go into what really happended liek his ripping off the artists of their royalties. Diana sleeping with her boss to hel her career. He just shows the highlights so it plays like an oldies but goodies show. A Dreamgirls re-working. We have seen that already in so many shows. But I am glad it is being done and hope it becomes a film. The film will have to be better than how they ruined Dreamgirls the movie.

Motown just released another CD with the same songs. A 2 CD set. Songs from the play Motown":The Musical. They should have just released this cast CD when it is time to. Not release a original artists CD set with the same songs they will release from this play s Cast CD. Who could compete with the original artists? They are amost cutting their sales in half!

Florence Ballard Was Screwed over by Mary Wilson & Mary was a woman that slept with Married men & broke up happy homes, so i'm sure their credibiltiy wouldn't hold any weight in the court of law! Kim & Glady's are nobodies so they pretty much dont even matter. This is not the FLO, MARY, KIM & GLADY's Story! This is Berry's Story from his book "To Be Loved"! These are his life events from his mouth as HE LIVED THEM! So why should i or anybody else care about what jealous people have to say!!

Diane Ross achievements on her own (1969-2013) do not merit INDUCTION AS A SOLO into "The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum" DONNA SUMMER is being inducted in 2013, Diane Ross had been eligible since 1994, NOT A CHANCE! Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Madonna & Donna Summer have all surpassed her as a "solo act" in music sales, popularity, concert sales and live performances!

Berry Gordy ran Motown like a "SLAVE PLANTATION" Few confronted him and fought him legally to get a fare share (Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Holland Dozier Holland to name a few. The rest got the shaft! They had "ironclad contracts" that deprive them of any artistic control. Their due "industry music royalties" were scammed, derailed and in many cases never granted!

APRIL 14 is her and the reviews for "MOTOWN THE MUSICAL" are "mediocre & lackluster" at best! "The Hollywood Reporter" say it quite eloquently! "Motown The Musical makes The Jersey Boys seem like a Pulitzer Prize Eugene O'Neil winning play" PRICELESS! The show lacks cohesiveness, honesty and heart. Is mechanical corporate attempt to cleanse the legacy of both Berry Gordy & Diane Ross and their "greedy" move of Motown from Detroit to L.A. for their own personal ambition at their expense!
