When you said "progress isn't always linear", I really needed to hear that right now. I had made a lot of progress on so many things and then had an avalanche of set backs all at once and it's made me feel like I'm never going to get out of it. Truly, thank you for that. Love you RawBeautyRusty.

As someone who has fought depression and anxiety since I was a kid, a schedule really helps! Otherwise I tend to let myself hide. Avoiding everything that makes me have icky feelings lol Whatever you can do, we’re here to receive!

Please don't put pressure on yourself to keep a schedule because I for one will wait for you for forever. I love you and your vids sooo much. I'm so happy for you and this journey and that you give us a peak into your life. Please, do the gone matte palette. Can we see something super intense and smokey out of it or maybe even a two looks one palette kind of video because I haven't seen a new one in a while.

You. Who should be the one who has your best interest at heart? You. You entered the world alone, you will leave the world alone... & while you're here you should be looking out for YOU! You are your own best friend... What do best friends do? Yes like she just goes for it, but it’s believable. Some other creators do very artistic makeup but like it’s not believable as wearable makeup. I think Lauren plays with colors and shapes in a way that I would actually try.

When you were talking about how you're talking to yourself when you start spiraling, I completely related. I started doing that about a decade ago and it really did change my life. When I started talking to myself how I would talk to a loved one going through the same thing, it was a lot easier to level back out

I have been watching your videos for years, mostly while I’m doing my makeup myself. I was sitting here this morning listening to your video while doing my makeup and I had to stop what I was doing when I heard you say, my child is downstairs LOSING HIS MIND and needs to go down for a nap, and just look at the tv and almost tear up and think, it makes me so happy after knowing the struggle you guys have gone through to conceive to have something like that come out of your mouth just as natural as can be. When we start working on ourselves through therapy we can start undoing some old tools but we don’t immediately replace them with new tools. We will lean on the coping mechanisms that are left and comfortable and familiar. If you feel like you aren’t making progress it may be because all you can see are these amplified leftover tools. We can’t rush learning the new tools. As much as we might like to. Lean into them when you are able but if you find yourself leaning into the old ones give yourself space to do so. It always takes practice to learn something new. And we will always be a lil shit at it in the beginning. 😅 you got this. 💕

I hear ya Kristi. Imo, as a mum myself, it is SO important that you realize being a mother is only PART of who you are. It is so important to put yourself first at times, since we are always putting others before in my experience. I am starting to play guitar again. I didn't realize how much I missed it and how many talents I had outside of family until I picked it up again. I'd imagine it's the same for you 🥰 Well we know you are talented and a beautiful soul. Treat yourself, take time for yourself, all moms deserve it! Don't let anyone tell you different 💯

First off, I really loved your home office video you did either last year or the year prior, and I’d love to see more of your personal style/plants in your set up! We will absolutely love whatever you come up with. Second, I’m so happy I was able to repurchase your “At Forest Sight” palette during your limited restock. Your palette and Kathleen’s are still my go-to palettes from all of Colourpop’s products hands down. This one I was able to grab for my best friend’s birthday since she always uses mine when she visits. Lastly, your constant authenticity about being an influencer, a woman, a mother, a wife, a creative being… even when you’re in the trenches, I have nothing but love and support. I was lucky enough to snag your palette this time around and am wearing the shadows tonight as I welcome in 2022. Love the palette colors so much. As a 56 yr old woman, probably not your typical demographic but here I am. :) Thank you for this video of your favorites. I want to thank you for talking about PMDD a few uploads back. I didn't know this was a real thing till then. I honestly thought the multiple traumas I experienced caused me to reach my coping limit in life, so much that I could no longer even handle my period anymore. I had a major change in my body a year ago (kidney removed) and the week before my period now I'm in legit crisis mode, suicidal, unable to decipher between little hurts and big hurts it's all 10/10 and the moment the window of hurt is opened then all the hurt of my entire life comes rushing in. I can not control my emotions or behaviors the week before my period but the second it starts it's like a light switch flipped and I'm back to normal (well, normal except debilitating cramps.) By opening up to us you helped me realize I wasn't just so broken that I couldn't function, I am actually having a real medical issue. Thank you. I see the doctor Monday. I am so thankful you shared this.

I have a 2 year old baby girl. I started watching your channel 4 years ago and my life has changed so much since then so I completely understand the changes you're going through when it comes to waking up ready to glam to hardly wearing makeup. My mother is the kind that “lost herself” to motherhood. To being a mother of two and a wife. She felt like she had to. How she was raised said that she no longer mattered. She had to put everything into her kids and husband. No gifts for her. No treating herself. No going out with friends. No having time for herself. For passions. For hobbies. She didn’t feel like she was allowed to make time. Her kids are adults now, and she’s struggling. It breaks my heart. She doesn’t have friends, she feels like she lost her ability to participate in her hobbies. She can’t write anymore, she doesn’t study sea animals anymore. She feels like it’s too late. My mom is only 44, but she lives as if her life is over. I’m trying to help her with it, to find herself, to get her to engage in things that make life beautiful. Please, please, please do things for yourself. Take time when you want it, not just when you need it. Treat yourself. Don’t let go of your passions. Do anything and everything you can to feel like your own person. Your inner child still needs you too.

Watching our girl going through her 'Me to Mummy' stage. It's what every woman goes through as a first time mother. On top of the fact Kristi convinced herself it would never happen, AND the personal struggle she has had without her mother by her side. Give this wonderful human a break, and Kristi, baby's first year is the most stressful 😫 (let's not mention terrible 2's yet 🤪).

The first year is crazy. My boy is 2 + 9months and he's wonderful but a lot of work. I had post partum depression and it was hard. I was in hospital for it. But it gets better. You do be yourself, but just a different version. But you get you back a bit

Yes, yes, and yes. Yes- a lifestyle background would be a beautiful reflection of your new layer of you. Yes- I would love to see your skincare routine. My skin has changed postpartum, too; and as a skincare junky, I do not mind adding to my routine. And yes- minimal foundation is your jam. You look gorgeous! 😘 EDIT: I love these “new” videos. Awww I love the self-compassion and positive self talk. Positive self talk like you’re speaking to a child that you love is also sometimes called “re-parenting”. I have no idea what your childhood was like, but for some people who had a childhood where they didn’t have someone telling them it was gonna be okay, telling themselves it’s going to be okay, you’re valuable, you’re loved, and talking to themselves the way you’re trying to is part of the process of giving their psyche the place of comfort, stability, and compassion they didn’t have as children. Having a safe mental place to come back to is really important for psychological development, and when we either never had that, or got away from remembering that place, we can give that back to ourselves!

I actually prefer the lifestyle backgrounds more than the colored backdrops, it makes it feel more spacious where the plain fabric can sometimes be ... almost claustrophobic, probably because my best friend is a photographer so i can really imagine the backdrop and how close everything has to be hahaha

The past few weeks I've been going through a really bad rough patch with my anxiety. It hasn't been this bad since I was 16. I'm 24 now. Hearing about your experience is so helpful! I do the same thing you do. I talk to myself gently and reassure myself. It really does help. I also have an app on my phone that has breathing exercises for anxiety and panic attacks and it has helped a lot as well. I hope it gets better for you soon! 💕

A lifestyle background sounds wonderful! Change is good! You talk about being reborn when you had a baby. I identify with that, yet I am on the other end of the spectrum. I just turned 60...my babies are moving on (I had children late in my life) and I am trying to rediscover myself. Figure out my passions in my new season of life and hoping to find the courage to move forward. I feel better than I felt at 40...but not sure where I go from here. Anyway....thank you so much for being open and raw with your struggles and triumphs. You have opened my eyes to many possibilities, and I appreciate that more than you know. You are awesome! May you witness the magic of the season through your little one's eyes! Thank you again.

Your eyes are stunning in these colours. And at the end when you have examples of how you are treating yourself with compassion I got a little emotional because I need to speak more kinder to myself. I'm still discerning the "new me" and my son is 8 years old. Love this video.

I love the lifestyle backgrounds that you have done in the past, like chillin in the sun room, the masking video in the bath, or out on the front porch. You have so much beauty around you it’s a dream! The colored backgrounds are great too, I like those for product reviews and get ready with me because they aren’t distracting.
