Spoiler It's later implied that Maou never wanted to be the demon lord but when Jahy saw her strength she pushed her into it, for personal gain. Jahy just kinda ended up doing whatever she wanted, claiming she spoke for the demon lord and Maou let her her cause she got free food

Yea this episode i felt the most bad for jahy she reunited with the one person she respects the most with the belief she was really important and understood her but then found out she couldn’t read her in the slightest. Its kind of like when you think you’re best friends with someone only to find out you’re not even really in that persons inner circle

To be fair, I think this case is similar to how Jahy has changed as a character. Namely, Maou-sama has been...uh, infesting the house? With not much else to do other than occasionally experience the human world. So it's more like finding a friend years later and finding out they've changed a *lot* Still, Jahy's initial reaction is heartwarming.

I think that they only look like kids because they don't have enough power to maintain their true form after the dark realm was destroyed. Though it begs the question of how Druj and Sarva were able to maintain theirs despite being weaker.
