UPDATE: It arrived, I was impressed with the packaging. Took me about 15 minutes to open it the first time with the pick. Practiced that for a few days. Ended up moving to a Master Lock Number 3, extremely disappointed in Master Lock for that hot piece of garbage. Anyway it's a great fidget as well, and the tools are STURDY AS FUCK especially for a beginners kit. I recommend therapists to have one of these in their waiting room or in their office for clients to fidget with while they wait or talk. Original Comment: I can't believe a RU-vidr actually sold me on something D: It's on it's way to me now. Honestly don't think I would have if you'd been wearing shoes lol, weird as that sounds. No, I don't have a foot fetish, and no, I'm not gay.
The editing, ambience, and narration are tops. I need this for my life to date: "If you look closely, you can see where they put the disappointment." *chef's kiss*
I ordered this Thursday night, it shipped on Friday, I got it today(Monday) (it was supposed to be Wednesday at first) from VA and I live on the west coast. The quality of everything was nice. The picks are sturdy&stiff and very thin, the handles are over 3x thicker than the pic blades, the tension wrench is sturdy too, and the lock is very heavy duty plastic or polymer (feels heavy like a real lock) and comes with 2 keys lol Even the case the lock came in was nice, the protecting tube the picks came in was nice, and the rubber ziplock all that came in was nice 😂😂 I don't know how they make money off of it, but I'm guessing they barely make any and it's more for trying to get people into picking so they'll buy more stuff later 😂 I picked the lock twice now.. wish it was a bit harder to pick but I'm guessing others wouldn't.. it's not super easy though. Slamming a rake in there takes some skill because I can't do it like McNally does lol, at least not yet. Time to start messing up the locks on my doors lol 😂 I'm most impressed with the picks though, I thought they'd either be those ones that are too bendable or too thick.. or not smooth like I've seen in reviews for the cheap pick sets on amazon
Channels like yours inspired me to get my first pick set. I gave up the first week and forgot to take the picks out of my bookbag. A year later(last week) I locked myself out of a Harley Davidson dealership and ended up using the picks to gain access without calling a locksmith. Thanks for the videos, they saved my ass even if I'm pretty crappy at picking. *Edit: I did not break into the dealership. I have a key, but I left it on the table and exited without unlocking the door. These simple videos saved my butt from calling the owner on a Sunday for my mistake.
@uncleandy7983 woodysworksaws is doing 5 to 7 for breaking and entering. He'll get back to you in 2031. 2029 if he behaves himself. Next week if he finds an old soda can or strip from a wiper blade.
I ordered this kit last week, and it's truly for beginners. I picked it in under 2 seconds on my first try. I'm not a pro, but I've had my DYNO quick pick set over 2 years. I'm looking forward to adding to what I have now. That lock he throws at the end is my Kryptonite right now.
That actually looks like fun. I think every child should get one of these . Including their grandma. I'm going to get one , just to keep me busy. I'm serious , this actually looks like fun . Thank you .
I'd actually be interested in a comparison between that see through starter lock and the master lock. Like does the see through trainer lock give him more issues than a master lock. Clearly it's not a lot by the video but like... He opens master locks with other master locks, I think it still has a shot
i love the pick rip you do everytime showing the shitty locks and how easy they are to break into. then finding you talking up a lock rarely and knowing its a good lock to buy
I glad I decided to start picking locks and not buying new socks. I received my FNG 2 days ago and so far I’ve picked 7 pad locks and 2 deadbolts. I’ve made the effort to pick all of them with the short hook but the rake definitely speeds things up on some locks. I get better every time I pick a lock and I just bought the genesis set since I want a better variety of turning tools and a medium hook. The case will also be an upgrade from the plastic rectangle thing that comes with the FNG and it’ll be nice to have an extra short hook since I feel like mine is probably going to break eventually. The rakes are cool but I don’t care for em a whole lot since they don’t take an picking skill, you still need the right tension but i feel like I’m cheating when ever I use the rake to instantly open something haha. Thanks McNally! I love you man! College haven’t been going very well so I think I’ve decided to get my locksmith license and get my bachelor’s in chemistry when I’ve grown up a bit more. You’ve helped me discover a passion for locks and violating them and I truly appreciate you and what you do:) I’d love to talk to you some day bro
Bought this and it arroved about five days ago. It keeps teaching me things and i feel the muscle memory setting in. Ive moved to the point where i can stab the lock open with the turning tool and rake, like we see in the videos so often and damn it's satisfying. I've since moved to a couple of other locks which have proved more difficult, but it seems when i struggle i can go back to FNG lock and seem to recalibrate myself to properly pick the newer lock open with less difficulty. Big fan of the new hobby.
Just ordered mine thanks for pointing this out, been wanting to get into lock picking for some time but a lot of the kits I’ve seen have been rather expensive, I watch a lot of your videos and i see a lot of the tools you use are good quality
I bought this set a couple months ago after your content started to get me interested in trying this out as a hobby. Now, I’m considering buying it again as a gift for my sister after showing her how to pick and finding out she was having fun with it too. Long story short: I’m very glad to have stumbled upon your videos, thank you
Wasn't gonna get it at first but I realized, hey. I have $10 to spare. So now I'm waiting for it to arrive so I can test it out and see if I like it! I'll probably update this at some point once I receive it and get to mess with it for a week Update: the lock I received was pretty alright. Little easy to pick if I'm being honest as the last pin was the first one to bind and setting it set the next three. However it did let me focus more of trying to get between pins for next ones so I'd say it's not bad. The picks themselves are pretty good as well. They feel good in the hand, though I'm still learning how to hold them comfortably, and the turning tool turns. Nothing else on that lol. For $15 (including shipping) I'd definitely recommend picking it up.
The accompanying practice lock is harder to pick than the master lock No. 1 padlock with 4 pins and “7/10 security”. I wanted to see just how tough it was but I got it in the first 30 seconds in my car. Fun stuff.
Just want to say I appreciate your videos and just picked up one of these kits along with something else to help with my downtime from work and a little skill to learn. Appreciate what you do
@@asylum1988 locksmiths have accused LPL and Bosnian Bill of lying, cheating and faking videos and get humbled real quick so forgive me if i won't trust a locksmith on youtube.
I just got mine in the mail. (a few minutes ago) The packaging was fancier than I expected, and it took me a while to realize that the hook and rake were stuck together with a bit of plastic that I had to remove. Also, lockpicking is harder than I thought
@@lalaloyalty1449 pretty cool. I’ve been using it on some locks and trying others. It takes a bit to learn. I went to the sight and ordered more items to try.
I just got mine yesterday, and I've already experienced the elation of my first lock popping open. I can pretty reliably open it with either the rake or the pick now, even without looking, and I've started practicing on random padlocks we have laying around work. I will note that I also have a set of ergo combs, and try as I might, I can't get those to work, even though I thought they would be easier to use. I'll have to find a good tutorial for those and see if I'm doing it wrong, I guess. Regardless, very satisfied and looking forward to helping friends who have lost their padlock keys.
Should've just bought the FNG... Spent an extra 70 for the Learn LockPicking set AND the FNG. This has been something I've wanted to learn forever and I saw your video about the tactical speed square forever ago and now I'm here buying from covert industries. Thanks for your content man!
Thank you, the set is nice, sturdy picks with the burs smoothed off(the handles are a little too small for me but I have big hands) and the practice lock really helps to get a feel for the internals of the mechanism. It's a damn good buy
Picked up the FNG on the black Friday sale. So far I picked I've picked almost all of my house locks and just now I have picked a stubborn Brinks R70 lock that has been in the way for many years! I was unable to pick a Master Pro series 6325 lock yet because the tension tool is a bit short. I think. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us! Great product!
Lockpicking. Most locksmiths keep a picker on hand because their clients will periodically lock their keys in their car or house. They still have the key, so it's easier to spend a tenner getting their lock picked than having the door bust down or something.
You just reminded me, i actually have a transparent training lock, but the way its keyed is accidentally exactly so that inserting a pick and pushing it back will position the pins at the shear line, so by complete accident the pick actually functions exactly like the original key
I just picked my first lock in 5-10 minutes ish with two of my grandmas tiny knitting crochets, I think I'ma make this my new hobby cuz I enjoyed it alot
Just ordered one. Kinda excited to start learning. Maybe its not knowing what you clearly know, but it blows my mind how many different tools there are, and how you seem to know exactly how to get through anything, at any time
Well, that got me. I've been interested in lock picking since seeing the LockPickingLawyer explain the interesting engineering that goes into securing locks. Ordered.
Grabbed this kit and really enjoy messing with it. I got the training lock pretty quick and within 36 hours I was opening 5 different locks no problem...and then for whatever reason I've seemingly lost whatever I had a grasp on
