This video we walk through a roadmap of how to get started in machine learning and AI. It can seem like a lot at first, but in this video Rob Mulla, kaggle grandmaster, breaks down his suggestions for anyone looking to start in this field. This is a good entry into anyone looking to start a career in data science or machine learning. We break it down into a few steps. This will help you map out your path to becoming a machine learning master including: which programming language to use, what courses to take, and the rest.

4:45 is point most of the people do not discuss. Thanks for this Rob! And I have a request from my side, I have learned some basic math and now learning ML algo's. I'm mostly intrested towards Computer Vision. If possible can you make video on Roadmap of Computer Vision. Because I haven't found any great resources of CV. Hoping from your side :)

Another great video Rob! I have a question: Do you think that you need a deep understanding of advance mathematics in order to be good in Kaggle (and Machine Learning in general)? To clarify, I'm not talking about the "yes or no math" debate in social media, but I want to know how much effort do you think that someone need to put in this skills. Thank you!
@robmulla
@robmulla Год назад
Hey Gustavo, thanks for the feedback. That's a great question and there is no perfect answer. I do think that the ability to intuitively understand math concepts is important in order to be good at kaggle. I don't think it's important to understand ALL the math behing the algorithms that are used. Understanding linear algebra is important if you want to gain an intuition for how deep learning models operate. Also understanding probabilities is very imporant if you want to have inutition about how your model is performing and understand the randomness within the model's predictions. I came from a strong math background (electrical engineering) prior to data science so I make take some of those things for granted. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for this video Rob, it was very informative, i was wondering if we can use tqdm on fitting a model ? or lets say on fitting a GridSearchcv, most of the time the fitting takes too long and i wish there was a way to display the progress, i was also wondering if you made any videos about pytorch or tensorflow :)
@robmulla
@robmulla Год назад
Hey, thanks for watching. You should be able to use tqdm on any iterable- there may be code out there already that does something like what you mention. I hope to make some videos on deep learning soon! Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Rob, One of youtuber says that there aren't any entry-level positions for beginners in ML also he recommends to working as a data analyst or working in jobs related to Sql for a couple of years after working with real world problems then you can switch to Machine learning ,But I don't like this pass can I straight jump into ML? What's your opinion ? THANKS A MILLION 🌹

Hi, I have a question about computer vision. I understand the mathematical definitions of each layer included in model and gradient descent. But what are the thinking processes of developers for their selection / order of layer(s) while building a huge practical model? I would be thankful if you could teach me or give me some related materials.
@robmulla
@robmulla Год назад
I think that understanding the details of each layer in the deep learning model is a bit overrated for a general practitioner. In most cases you will be taking a existing model archetecture like efficientnet or densenet and then adding a custom head for your output. The main thing you need to learn is how to train the model - lr scheuler, model size selection, batch size, etc. It's an art more than a science!
