I like the guy desperately searching for plot holes vs. the guy who has already questioned it and seen through the need for head canon. Except for that genius bit about the gunshot with the priest. And the fake jail scene.
This is in my top 10 favortite movies of all time. The monologues are chefs kiss to writing. Weaving voicing V was perfect coming from Agent Smith in the matrix films, just almost robotical in logic. A simple but layered story paralelling our reality about our govt and its hold on us. 10/10 imo. You guys are absolutely correct in stating this film is timeless.
The creator of V, Alan Moore, has never seen the film. It was originally a comic strip and he doesn't believe that one form of art should be remade in another. He also objected to From Hell (2001), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) and Watchmen (2009 being made into movies.
We celebrate that it was stopped by placing an effigy of Guy Fawkes on top of a bonfire. BTW...Guy Fawkes was not the mastermind behind the plot but he was caught in the act and he had a great name.
