Twisting is what can ruin the knees. I'm having a meniscus surgery tomorrow due to practicing this turn while I was not physically prepared. I thought the pain would fade away during the years, but it remained.
this is one of the first thing i learned when i switched from the wing to defense. being able to move laterally and use your edges to get into open pockets is crucial.
Work on your hip flexibility....if u can do a spreadeagle heels together... u can do it ....lack of flexibility make the trick difficult. So if u can do 180 spreadeagle...you are there....
To that extent not many. But a lot of players use it in transition to skirt around an area. He's not in the NHL, but Stars prospect Antonio Stranges does it to a crazy extent. I doubt he'll make the league, but some of his highlights are just stupid. Worth a watch.
@@yourmother1631 Mohawks aren't really figure skating. But in the case of Antonio Stranges, he had a fairly successful OHL career with the London Knights.
