@@dubious6718 That's true but the task was open the Microwave door before it blings in 5 minutes! So thinking out of the box, let someone disconnect the microwave and let it bring to you isnt breaking the rules, Because the Microwave didnt bling and you are still in the Timelimit! Also you only took 2 Steps! telling the order and open the Microwave!
To be fair, so did I - I considered doing forward rolls as an appropriate solution the entire way there - but after thinking about it for a few minutes, I realized "Oh, right. Skipping would work, too."
If I was a first-timer participant on the show, I would be with Dave - "In as few steps" would mean... take steps to get there, but try to minimize it... As a Taskmaster viewer, I now know I'd say "well then, how do I get there without steps?"
@nieooj gotoy Their basic definition was using ur feet, so that may be backfire. The guy that rolled showed the best way to do it. Unless you could do a handstand or get on a bike, etc lol
@nieooj gotoy "lift and set down one's foot or one foot after the other in order to walk somewhere or move to a new position." literally just search the definition, those are all steps that you mentioned
@@CadeHXH "or move to a new position"? so using your hand and arm strength, to move a wheelchair onto a plane, and exiting said airplane 7000 km away in a different country, without ever leaving the wheelchair, would be defined as a step to you/the dumb-ass dictionary writers? Or is that just step 1?
@@smeetsnoud1 Not necessarily, clever takes on the meaning of a task are often rewarded. Remember Richard Osman and the three balls on the yoga mat. The problem is, people often completely butcher their attempt trying to bend those rules. Remember Hugh Dennis in... in basically half the tasks he did.
The silliest part of the "try to take as big of steps as possible" strategy is it would have required less steps if they had just run instead of trying to take big steps while walking. While you're walking, your steps are never further apart than your legs can reach, but while running, there are times where both legs are off the ground and therefor the potential to have a larger distance between each foot fall.
I'm not sure that's true. Dizziness is caused by the fluid in the inner ear moving about, isn't it? Does it calm faster if you start spinning it the other way rather than standing still, or does it just distract you by giving you something to do while you wait for the fluid to settle? Where's Mythbusters when you need them?
@@michaelccozens here's an idea. Figure it out your own damn self. There is literally nothing stopping you. Unless you're a paraplegic. In which case I just look like an ass.
I felt so sorry for Paul, he looked so upset and embarassed. Like, what he did was stupid, and this show is very happy to make fun of people, and we're not gonna bend the rules as much as he was expecting to help him.... but that expression really hit me as something I've felt before, when I did/said something dumb and everyone refused to drop it
these and Korean shows are not for the weak. I realize I would be too sensitive for those shows. I give respect for the ppl (even if I hate them) who go through this. always find myself feeling bad for them.
I've only seen Rob's attempt at this and thought it (still do) one of the most hilarious Taskmaster moments ever but oh my god, seeing the whole thing made it so much better 😂
this season has a special place in my heart, because it had the highest proportion of genuinely baffling decisions. just pure oddity. immense confusion. i love it.
I had the perfect idea - "Alex, I've got a plan to get to that microwave in as few steps as possible." "Yeah?" "Step one - get to the microwave." (walk over to microwave) "Done. One step to get here."
I might suggest that this concept be done in United States, but would probably devolve into eating the most mouse testicles in 60 seconds... or something involving bugs. I.E. just "fear factor" The Brits have a keen ability to keep it focused on pointless tasks as opposed to grosser and more disgusting ones. I vaguely remember Fear Factor originally having common stuff people were afraid of and turning into nauseating things very quickly.
To my knowledge, they tried too do this in America and the results were horrible. A group of college kids made a RU-vid spinoff called taskmaster Minnesota though and that's apparently actually pretty good
@@idkwhatsgoingon4584 no, the college kids did really well, they didn't actually make it to televised media though. American television producers tried to recreate the actual show and it flopped.
How would that make it different from any of the others. They would also do it in two steps. 1. Roll/step/fancy step/big step to the microwave 2. Open it.
I would have just walked by sliding my feet on the ground, never picking them up unless absolutely necessary, though I suppose the validity of that method would depend on what exactly defines a step. xD
Rolling is immediately where my brain went to. I don't know if rolling in goose crap is worth winning though. That kind of begs the question "what is winning?". I would argue that if you finish covered in crap then you lost at something.
So when was said there would be some hurdles I would have asked if they were optional to completing the task. The way I think of it trying to avoid steps if possible would be a hurdle in itself.
Just a PSA: don’t turn off your microwave by opening the door. The safety switches will melt over time. They are not designed to be hit with the full electrical load of a microwave.
@@KitchenerLeslie2 I mean, it's you're money. If you want to replace the brake mechanism and the blade every time you turn the saw off and you're not hurting anyone else, you do you, man.
@@chochtopf8682 he could still cary me over there, or i forgot what they had to heat up, but i could tell him to takethe plate and put it in the Microwave himself
@@lmaopew I doubt he'd feel like carrying you there. And the task is to get to the microwave and open the door, not sure how the second part of your comment achieves that.
I know right???? I've been checking the channel every day. I suppose they're giving us advance training for the when the day finally comes where there are NO MORE FULL EPISODES LEFT....
@@gohoosiers8824 yeah, I know others got to it before me, after posting this comment I scrolled down and immediately found another one. I did come up with this though
My first thought was to have get alex a wheelbarrow, sit in it and have Alex drive me to the microwave (mind that was when clicking on the video before seeing the setting). Now I would ask him to get me a bicycle and cycle there.
My simple solution is slide. Dont pick your feet up iff the ground, slide your feet. No rolling around in shit and zero steps. The crawling was a good idea tho, just a lot more goose crap
